A one-night stand (thanks again to the staff because they have two night minimum on their website) to be close to a friend turned out to be OK. The long level pull thru site just fit our 32 ft Class C towing a VW Bug on a tow dolly with maybe a foot to spare. 30/50 amp on the pedestal with convenient w/s hookups. Over 100 cable channels however the internet was barely adequate (notwithstanding the advertised “state of the art internet”). Three bars on AT&T. Bathrooms were clean. They’ve had plenty of rain so there was a LOT of mud and soggy grass. Lots of long term folks here. Would stay again if in the area but would not go out of my way to come here.

The PERFECT park for our last night on the road! Before we drive the final 260 miles of our 32 day, 6,100+ mile adventure, we get to spend today and tonight lakeside, minutes away from I-95 yet miles away from the noise of civilization.

This place is beautiful, lots of trees, lakeside and lots and lots of grass. We’re the only folks in our section (so far - it’s still early!) and we’re in slip 3. It’s level, very long, full hookups including a bunch of cable channels and there is internet available however with Dishy and four solid bars on AT&T, I didn’t even check out the hamsters - we’ll leave the bandwidth for someone else. There is a laundry, free firewood, fishing and lots of peace and quiet. Diane and the boys are loving it and so am I - we are blessed!

We stayed in the newer section, which has long level pull-through and back-in concrete pads and patios with full hookups. The laundry and restrooms are spotless and the on-site bar and grill has friendly staff and delicious brisket quesadillas (but no fresh jalapeños!) There is no cable but plenty of on-air channels. Not a ten because 1) no picnic tables at any of the sites;and 2) while they advertise fiber optic internet, the hamsters must have had too much fiber because my two bars on AT&T are ten times faster than the internet. We would definitely stay here again!

Tonight we stay at Oak Hollow Campground, a City of High Point park that is beautiful! Clean, well maintained, and on a lake! All of the full hookup sites are back-in (they also have tent sites) with either 30 or 50 amp service. The water is unusual in that a single spigot serves two adjacent slips and does not have a splitter so you need to bring your own. That fact is clearly stated on their website, as is the fact that the paved RV slips are sloped and you need leveling blocks or leveling devices on your rig.

There are a bunch of cable channels available - including FETV, which I have never seen other than on my home cable - so I didn’t bother checking on-air channels. There are two free WiFi networks: the one labeled “high speed” had a single hamster who apparently was going through a really long school zone and the other network didn’t register on Okla at all with four tries. ATT is three bars with slow data. Have not used the facilities however given how the rest of the place is maintained, I’m sure they are more than adequate!

One of the smaller parks we’ve stayed at this trip (a good thing), it is terraced on a hill offering panoramic views of the town and mountains. A mix of pull through and back in sites as well as some really cool tent sites. Full hookups, no cable, and full facilities. All sites apparently have 30 and 50 amp service and our surge protection device did not like the 30 amp service - service would start, stay on a few minutes and shut down without blowing the breaker however our plug was getting hotter so we broke out the 50 amp adapter and have had no issues since. Staff is friendly and accommodating and there is a nicely appointed store as well as coffee and pastries every morning.

Slips are unusual in that they are gravel with concrete “strips” for the wheels. Ours was perfectly level although barely long enough for the combined 50 Ft of our rig. And, no grass for the pups. Speaking of grass, I cast no dispersions however

2G and 5G networks are available and speeds vary widely from 3 Mb - 24 Mb. In addition to erratic performance, we were dropped and then almost immediately reconnected numerous times on both networks. Further investigation revealed rumors about a three legged hamster on a wheel in a cage littered with Pepperidge Farm Milano cookies, some rolling papers and a vinyl copy of “Dark Side of the Moon”. There was foil on the roof of the cage and a black light providing the only illumination. Too tired to break out Dishy, I decided to grin and bear it. Should have enough bandwidth to post this epic. We give it a 6/10 due to electric issue, lack of usable internet and lack of grass for the pups. $63/night.

Last night we were in Weatherford, OK at Wanderlust Crossing RV Park (Candace – sorry we didn’t connect – it was a quick stop for sleep - and we did wave!) This place is the cleanest, neatest park we have EVER stayed in! Immaculate! Very long level concrete full hookup pads, no cable and in terms of usefulness, no WiFi either. Plenty of manicured grass for the pups and all facilities conveniently located. Priced reasonably at $45, it was too short a stay to fully appreciate.

What a disappointment! I should have suspected this was not all milk and cookies when the gentleman who took us to our site (apparently employees are exempt from the stated speed limit, based upon how he and other staff zipped around) and has us pull straight into our pull-through site before telling us all the hookups were on the other side! So we pulled out and carefully navigated around another road and entered the site with the hookups on the same side as on our coach.

CAUTION! Even though we are in a 31’ Class C towing a VW Beetle on a tow dolly, the park has tight turns and LOTS of trees to look out for.

The long mostly level site had a concrete pad and patio. For reasons passing understanding, the heavy picnic table was on the site next to us, and when we called the office at 4:00, it was closed so we left a voice mail and hope a couple of staff show up to move onto OUR patio. The previous occupants of this slip were clearly a partying group, as evidenced by the confetti, candy wrappers, and other trash left behind for us.

But the clear winner in the disappointment department was the mens bathrooms. Out of the three shower stalls, I chose the one with the least amount of mold and bad grout. Unfortunately it also had no water pressure and no hot water. The next least disgusting stall had lots of hot water and plenty of pressure. At least the shower stalls didn’t have dead insects in them, like the sinks.

No cable, WiFi useless and five on-air channels came in on our amplified antenna. There is no shortage of unsupervised children around and plenty of golf carts too. Not what I expected for $70/night.

Such a disappointment, given how beautiful the location is. Will not be back (I know - you guessed that!)

This is a "medium" size park, with what looks like an equal number of pull-through and back-in sites, as well as lots of tent sites and cabins. There are a number of long term folks here, and it appears that all the RV sites have concrete pads, 30 & 50 amp service, water and sewer and CATV with about 30 channels. Our site was level and our 52 ft rig ( 28' ft Class C towing a VW Beetle) fit with some room to spare.

Water pressure is good and the common areas are clean and well-kept. Most of all, there is GRASS - lots of it and Max and Mr. Winston love it after almost a week of gravel and sandy straw.

Since we got in late and since the park ad mentioned "Free Internet" we didn't set up Dishy. Big mistake since the so called "free internet" must be free since it is pathetically slow. Further investigation reveals there are no hamsters on the wheel but rather ants - not even fire ants or giant ants or alien-mutated ants - just a couple of lethargic, arthritic, under nourished, narcoleptic tiny ants.

And for the low price of only $3.99/day, you can purchase internet that allegedly allows you to stream. Considering the "free internet" is described as being adequate for "email, browsing and social media", when it is in fact adequate only for inventing new cuss words, I chose not to invest $3.99 to check it out. Luckily I have full bars with AT&T and that's working just fine.

We received a pre-check-in email and two phone calls today prior to arriving to ensure we knew our site and other info since they were closing early. When we arrived we found a complete arrival pack with all the necessary information. $45/night with Good Sam discount. Bottom line is that it's a really nice place however the free internet sucks and to be nickel and dimed for $3.99 a day for "optional" service when the free service is so slow is totally bogus.

Lakeside RV Park is a clean, very well-kept park with about 130 full hookup (30 & 50 amp) concrete slips, some cabins and lots plush, green, beautiful grass! Slips are not too close together and ours was perfectly level. There are only 13 pull-through slips and I’m guessing they are at least 60-65 feet long (our 52 feet of Class C MH and towed VW Beetle fit with room to spare front and back). No trees at the pull-through slips and the place is surrounded by lots and lots of trees!

No cable however there are about 45 on-air channels that came in clear. Barely got two bars on AT&T and I’m guessing they have imported some new hamsters and replaced the wheel because the internet was fast enough to stream TV on my laptop while my wife and I simultaneously browsed and emailed on two iPhones. We did not visit the laundry or showers however given the condition of the rest of the park, I’m certain they are spotless! $49 plus tax for one night and we would stay here again.

Mostly level packed gravel pull-thru sites with full hook ups, including about 12 cable channels and about the same number of on-air channels. However, since they have the Clydesdale Hamsters, who needs anything but streaming. With two TVs and three iPhones, we’re enjoying 30Mb+ downstream! Three full bars on AT&T

Office was closed when we got here however there was a sealed envelope for us (as well as other Sat arrivals) and envelopes for the four slips that are apparently open tonight. In addition, we got confirmation emails after registering and a reminder email the other day. The place is clean and organized and less than five minutes from I-20.

The only reason for not giving it a 5/5 is the lack of any shade at the slips. Otherwise this is a great place and we’d stay here again. 4.5/5!
