This is a pretty new RV park. The facilities (bathroom/shower/laundry) were very nice, but the sites are pretty close to each other. Also the electric at my site had me thinking my AC was broken, then I went somewhere else and it worked fine, so I think somehow their electric hookup wasn't working properly.

Also, be prepared for very very loud and frequent Air Force planes flying over. It's OK for a stopover given the facilities, otherwise, I'd pass.

Y'all, please trust me when I say ONLY attempt this area on week days. I was there for several days during mid week and was planning on trying to stay Saturday night, but I woke up Saturday morning to about a million OHVs and started to quite literally get blocked in. It's the most insane thing I've ever seen.

During the week you'd see the occasion OHV, but it wasn't a nuisance or anything, but get the F out of here by Saturday or you'll risk getting trapped.

It's an incredibly beautiful area though, so highly recommend during the week, but not the weekend.

I have to admit, when we first rolled up to Clark Fork Drift Yard, we weren't sure how we felt about it, but as we settled in, we began to love the space. You're basically in a gravel parking lot (until a couple other sites open towards the end of May), but it's such a peaceful area. If you SUP or have a kayak, etc. it's an awesome area to launch your craft and get out on the water. I added a video to the page that shows the areas and some things to know, including the follow:

- 3 day stay limit
- Train runs by pretty consistently
- Lot's of geese and geese poop (if you have a naughty dog)

Perfect stopover with incredible showers, bathrooms and laundry facilities. The hosts are wonderful and their texting system feels both genius and personal.

They have a little club house too with coffee, drinks, snacks, etc. and honor system with venmoing them for what you take.

It was great for me for one night, but would certainly be lovely to stay longer in the future. Great views!

$10 is a little more than we like to pay to dump, but they had free potable water too which was nice. Very spacious and a great location.

Very peaceful area. Saw a moose nearby! Falling asleep to the sound of the Animas River is incredible. Super easy access to Silverton and the Million Dollar Highway.

I loved my stay here. The camp host Olin is wonderful, the campground is well kept and clean and the town has everything you could need with super friendly residents. There is an Amazon Hub in town where you can receive packages as well which is nice.

I had an easy pull through site with water, electric, and sewage. My site (27) was shaded most of the time which was nice on the hot days, and even though sites are fairly close together, you feel further apart because of the trees in-between you. I also felt very safe the entire stay.

The surrounding park is pretty flat, so it makes for a great place to go for runs or a bike ride.

I work full-time and was able to use my Verizon Jetpack which fluctuated between 2-3 bars. However, I had no issues on video calls, or being able to work efficiently, etc. I would recommend this campsite for full-time workers worried about connectivity. I also had 1-2 bars on AT&T.

Honestly, the pictures don't do it justice. It's quite a beautiful area that surprised me. If you're going in the Summer, take wasp spray. Unfortunately, my breaker box did have a small nest in it, but that was the only negative ha!

Stayed here for about a week and it was lovely. Pretty quiet, people are pretty respectful. Definitely fills up, but nobody was too terribly close. Can't beat the views. Close to Trout Lake where there are more private pull offs and it's a beautiful free lake to paddle on. 20ish minutes to Telluride.

Only down side is there is absolutely no cell service on Verizon or AT&T.

Highly recommend. Plenty of spots you can grab and super convenient for visiting Bryce Canyon. Everyone is pretty spread out so it feels really spacious.

One of my better dispersed camping experiences, so definitely check it out if you're in the area!

Free camping 20 minutes outside of Yellowstone? I'll take it! Beautiful views of the mountains, plenty of space for big rigs. Snow was fully melting by the time we left 5/19/23.
