This rather new RV park was conveniently located near the interstate and offered spacious pull through and back in sites. We stopped for one night on our way to Texas. It was cold night down into the high 20’s and we needed a FHU site to keep our furnace and tank heaters running with the 50 amp service. We also needed to fill up our fresh water tank for our next stop. We had a minor problem with our handle on our black tank and the manager of the campground was helpful in directing us to a place where we could get a part to fix it. He also helped with making a reservation when our cell service was not strong enough to make the reservation online from the road. We were able to get our empty propane tank filled and there were many food options around. We went to a local Mexican place in an old Howard Johnson’s and enjoyed our meal with enough leftovers for another meal. Since the showers were so clean and heated, we ended up using the individual shower rooms near the office so that we could pack up our water and sewer lines the night before due to the freezing temps. I would definitely camp there again.

We stayed at Sandbanks in mid-October in the Woodlands Campground for 3 nights. Because it was late in the season, we chose a full sun site in order to stay warmer. The site, 608, was spacious and was easy to get our 30’ travel trailer into place. The one strange thing about the electric (30/20 amp) was that the pole for the site also serviced the adjacent site. In our case, the pole was on the curb side of our trailer. Although it worked because of our long cord, I would have liked to choose a site based which side the pole was on. I am not sure this information is available specifically on the reservation website or if it is an look e too o be discerned from the pictures of the site. Of the campgrounds that were open, this campground was the best suited for larger trailers and RVs. There was another campground that was not open that looked promising. The older campgrounds would have been fun for me back when I was tent camping many with some direct beach access. The restrooms and showers were clean and had plenty of hot water and pressure. The one drawback was the button that needed to be pushed to continue the water flow. We really enjoyed exploring the park and the surrounding area. I really appreciated that the park provided dog friendly areas at the beaches. The beaches were expansive and the dunes were beautiful. The area has a large number of wineries, 35 in Prince Edward County. There was services such as a grocery store, bank, and gas station with diesel in Wellington about a half hour away. The cell service at the campground was not reliable. 1 bar of Verizon. I would definitely return to this park although I suspect that it is a much different place in the height of beach season.

Asked permission at customer service desk. Told RV parking near the hill to the left of the Walmart building. Well lit. It helped to have black out blinds. The space directly by the hill had quite a slope. Found a more level spot an aisle over. There was not any significant noise.

There were many options for eating in the area and a Dunkin Donuts that although slightly awkward was walkable.

We stayed here for one night as an overnight stop. We had reservations. The park emailed me to say they had changed my reserved site due to damage in the site. 5 Stars for that. When we arrived, we noticed that we could choose and open site without a placard, so we decided to try a pull through rather than the back in. After we had our trailer all setup, the electrical failed to turn on. We moved to another site. We were going to test the electrical first. While there, another camper informed us he had tried that site and his electrical management/surge protector had informed him it had reversed polarity. He suggested looking for a site with newer electrical boxes(gray vs green). We found another open back in site and had success there. The campground itself had spacious sites. The bathrooms did not pass my personal cleanliness test. They didn’t do much look dirty or smelly as run down and were most of the reason for the 3 star review. We were close enough to the city to go out enjoy BBQ, get fuel, and groceries. The road in an out was a bumpy ride through an industrial area. But the park itself was beautiful. This is the view from our site. Site 43. There was a dump station available, but we did not use. It was accessed by going around the campground loop. It was on the left after the last site as you exited the campground.

We would have preferred spending the night here. We found the spaces were not long enough for our truck and 30’ trailer. And there was a loud train that went through as we checked it out.

Sites were wide and deep and clean. There was shade and water and 30 amps. The dump station had multiple lanes and stations. The gated entrance to the park was very narrow and even in our Airstream it felt tight. We did not see anything bigger than a travel trailer in the park. There were a large number of sites. No smoking sections were available. The park was well used by locals with many sections of seasonal camping. One thing that was unsightly was an actual dump area next to the dumping station with a list of items that could be left. It looked like a pile of trash. The actual trash/recycling containers throughout the park were very nicely kept. There was food available. We did not take advantage of any of the recreational activities available. It seemed expensive compared to other parks we have used. Given the price, we may not go back.

We have stayed in the OKC area in the past at a much more costly campground and decided to give this park a chance. Because of the time of the year, early November, the staff assured us we would have no trouble getting a site at this first come first serve campground. She gave us instructions on where to come for FHU sites and told us in advance that it was cash or check. We arrived early in the afternoon and were able to get a site for the weekend. When we checked in, we were informed about the laundry facility. We were able to get our laundry done at a very reasonable price of $2.50 a load washed and dried in front load Maytag commercial washer and dryers. The office had quarters for purchase. Although we didn’t use the shower house, it appeared to be in good shape and clean. The park was conveniently located near I40 and you certainly could hear the traffic, but it was no unpleasant, just white background noise. For the price of $25 a night, this park was a good value and the sites were spacious. It was a pleasant place to walk the dog. The only thing that would prevent me from returning here again would be the need to be assured of a place to stay. Our last time through OKC was Memorial Day weekend and I am not sure I could risk a holiday weekend to a first come, first served.

We stayed here as an overnight stop between Columbus and Nashville. The weather was cold and snowy. We were assigned a site next to the bath house. I might not have usually wanted this site, but given the weather it was nice to be close to the bathroom and laundry facilities. The staff had taken the time to earn their customers with a memo attached to the map of the freezing temperatures and suggested filling your tanks and disconnecting your water hoses. They also warned about their high water pressure. Because of other reviews, I did get a pull through site. Many of the back in sites did not have enough room to park in line with your rig. Because of the cold, we did use the bathrooms. They were very clean and were setup as private rooms. The water pressure in the showers was great and there was plenty of hot water. We did laundry. The trim was clean and most of the machines were in working order. Quarters were available in the office. The prices were reasonable at $3.00 a loaf to wash and dry. Our dog enjoyed the dog park. The layout offered plenty of space to walk her as well. Propane by the gallon was available on site which in this weather was a nice feature. Overall, a great spot for an overnight stop or if you are visiting the area. I would return.

We stopped here for an overnight on a road trip. It was during a cold snap in mid November. Because of this, we used the bathhouse rather than risking frozen water vs pipes and houses. The bathroom were nicely appointed. The showers were tiled and clean with new fixtures. There were multiple places to put your shower supplies. The shower stall offered a place to sit and multiple hooks, something sorely lacking in most campground bathrooms. The well placed mats kept the bathroom floors clean and the dressing area of the shower from being wet. The shower curtain was clean and hanging at the appropriate. 5 Stars for the bathroom. Because of the time of year, (November in the cold is bleak) it was hard to tell what the park might be like in the spring and summer. The electrical pedestals were at a better height than most. There were well placed trash cans and the dump station area was neat and clean. There were amenities that we did not use. But it is convenient to Nashville which allowed us to have a lovely meal in the evening without traveling a long distance. One last note, we had booked a water and electric site. At check-in, we were moved to a full hook which although we didn’t need or use it, the site itself was easier to get in and out of. We appreciate the move. I would return again for an overnight stop in the Nashville area. FYI: campground quiet, but road noise is evident. Wasn’t a problem with windows closed.

Stayed here for one night in late November. The park had some, but not many campers. We came in without reservations. The campground host suggested site 34 which was a pull through with full hookups. It had a nice view of the lake and was close to the dock area and the bathhouse. Coming from I 40 east bound, the GPS took us through some backroads with no signage for the park, but did get us to where we were going. We left via what would appear to be the main entrance to the park. The cell service Verizon was week, but did get some things through. Used the showers to avoid hooking up water and sewer. The bath house was clean, but could use some maintenance. Why do so many campgrounds have problems keeping up with rust? But the showers were hot and the water pressure was good. There was adequate hooks and space to necessary items.
