We're here over the New Years' holiday. The weather is glorious, 40's at night, 60's during the day.

The resort seems to be largely a community of retired people from the US (Washington, Nevada, California) and a seemingly large contingent of Canadians. Some own, some rent, tiny homes or trailer homes for a season.

The sites in the Paradise Loop (the inexpensive seats), where we're located, are a mixture of tiny homes and RV back-in sites. Each has a full hook up with a cement patio. They are very close to each other. We were initially parked next to a fifth-wheel and a tiny home, but our electrical hookup was not functioning properly.

After being without power for the first few days and after 3 different visits to the office and a call to get assistance New Years' Day evening as we were trying to prepare dinner, we were offered another spot. We moved.

After moving, I went to the office to inquire what, if anything, all our inconvenience warranted. I was told that even though their stealthy (Christa's words) maintenance crew had been out at least three times to check the power, they could not replicate a problem, ergo, there must be a problem with our RV. I mentioned I'd not been called or contacted in any way by maintenance (I know, duh, they're stealthy) and had been outside awaiting them since my latest complaint this morning.

Christa never told me why maintenance would not have spoken to me about the power problem when I was readily available outside our RV to help solve our problem. When I told her they had lied to her about showing up at our site, she became visibly agitated. I told her I was right about no one showing up at which point she invited me to enjoy the rest of my stay, told me the maintenance crew was trustworthy and invited me, in front of several people checking in, not to come back. We're not a good fit for everyone, she explained. And besides, you say you're always right, she said. Not always, I told her, but this time, I was. No problem, we agree I shouldn't come back. Fool me once..., and so much for cordial customer service.

Christa has promised to reimburse us for one night's stay. A nice gesture despite her belligerence.

If you choose to come here, the clubhouse areas are vey nice with hot tubs powered by hot springs and heated pools, both family and adult. The setting is also spectacular with great Palm trees and mountains all around, some snow capped.

The photos above are all resort photos and while nice don't exactly tell the tale. I've taken a few around to assist.

This campground has great potential, but is too expensive for a concrete pad with full hook ups. The location is not too bad if you're looking for proximity to Lafayette or the sports complex nearby. No pool, no showers, no laundry, no fire rings. I'd camp here again only if there are no other options.

Small, nicely kept park with full hookups and very nice host. Quiet at night except for a few passing trains. There were maybe twenty-five Sandhill Cranes hanging out, a bonus. Magnificent birds.

This is a relatively new RV park located not too far off of Interstate 30 near Farmersville, Texas. Located back off the highway a good distance in a pasture along a four-lane highway, the travel center presents itself as the perfect stopover spot between destinations. We had just been at Hot Springs National Park and were traveling to Dallas.

The pads are gravel, ours had just been refurbished with large sized gravel which made walking a bit of challenge. I can foresee that in the coming years as more landscaping is added and the gravel sites are packed down, this park could be a sweet place to rest along the way.

There appear to be many long-term residents, some working locally, some snowbirds. Our neighbors were from upstate New York and I was told they winter here regularly.

The bathrooms/showers are clean, the laundry facilities are great and not too pricey at $2.00 a load for washing and drying. The WiFi was great. We streamed Netflix and worked with no problems.

The price reflects our Good Sam discount.

Twenty Mile Beach marks the first time we've used BLM to camp in our 15 months living full-time on the road. We've spent most of this winter past in Southern California, but with California's governor putting the state on lock down for the moment and with all the reported cases of COVID-19 in the state, we decided to move into Nevada for a period of time.

We're here in later March so bugs are not an issue. Temperatures are lower 60's during the day, upper 30's at night. There's snow on the mountains to our west.

Verizon service is great here. Nice few days of social distancing.

Melanie and I left our great quarantine spot in Sisters, Oregon less than a week ago. We were in Eugene, Oregon for a few days then, on the advice of John and Susan, who I met at Windy Gap along the Mckenzie Scenic Highway while in Sisters, we made reservations in Bandon at Bandon Wayside, a spot recommended most recently with 5 stars on the Campendium website.

The RV park is small, they refer to it as "Micro," with 8 full-hook up sites located behind the motel. A privacy fence surrounds the property and for those of you who enjoy a hippie cocktail:

"Guests are invited to walk around and relax around the property. Enjoy a self-made happy hour at one of our sunny picnic tables. For folks who enjoy cannabis have a seat in our open air Cannabis Cabin or if you are a tobacco smoker we have a open air covered seating area for you too. Please note that smoking and vaping are only permitted in designated areas. All rooms and the RV park are smoke and vape free."

RV guests have the use of two well-appointed bathrooms, both with a washer and dryer. They've thought of everything you may need, individual face cloths, facial tissues, Myers hand soap, individual bath mats, etc. In the time of pandemic I should add, they are very well-kept and cleaned regularly with sanitizer available for wiping surfaces.

The park is located within walking distance of a food market and we easily biked into old town Bandon and down the coast to Bandon South Jetty Park and Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge among other places.

David and Nicole are great hosts and made sure we had everything we needed for a great stay.

Nicole suggested a local favorite restaurant, Alloro Wine Bar & Restaurant, for take-out dinner since they are not yet open for dine-in service. They're offering 30% off in May and they deliver. We await dinner as I type.

My wife and I stayed here over the past week and enjoyed our stay. The previous review summarizes our impressions nicely.

We live full-time in our 25 foot Leisure Travel Van and do not tow a car. We have two electric assist bicycles for causal transportation. The park is situated about half way of the 10+ miles of trail south of downtown. I made numerous runs into downtown San Antonio via the Riverwalk along the San Antonio river. I also made several grocery store runs to a H-E-B Superstore about 4 miles away.

The Riverwalk is very well-kept and scenic. Downtown is very bike friendly. I also made a few trips out away from town and visited several of the mission sites. The government was closed during some of our time here, but the mission grounds were open and worth a visit.

We used the showers that were regularly cleaned and new. Verizon service was such that our hot spot worked well, so can't say anything about the WiFi provided by TW, though they state the WiFi is not for streaming movies.

There is some highway noise, but it's minimal and quiets at night. Trains occasionally pass relatively close by and since there are numerous crossings they sound their horns frequently when passing through. We were city dwellers in a past life and the horns did not bother us.

The staff was helpful the few times we engaged them.

We've stayed in some really nice parks over the past year and a half of full-time travel. I'm certain we've been in parks that were not as nice, but then we didn't pay $80.00 a night for the privilege.

I'm sure the price reflects access to the hot springs which during a pandemic seemed like rolling the dice to us.

The grass needs cutting and trimming. There are weeds growing in our site along the edge of the unswept concrete picnic area. The trash can near our site was overflowing and very smelly. We love children, just not those who ignore the fact they are playing in the back of our site while their parents look on. Few people are wearing masks that have been mandated in Montana.

The bathhouse was not $80.00 a night clean and the water pressure was barely adequate and smelled of sulfur.

And no alcohol, apparently not even at your own site. What the hell is that about?

If this place hadn't been the only game in town...

We stayed in site #3 which is smaller than some and located near the entrance to Campground #1. We were here just after the campground opened on May 1 and, aside from the campground hosts and very few others, we've got the place to ourselves. There are larger sites in campground #1 like #s 12 and 13 down the way, but most all have great shade from a nice stand of trees in the park. The bathhouse is about a quarter mile walk from #3.

Water and electric hook ups, dump station at the entrance to the campgrounds. We were here on a Monday and Tuesday, leaving on a Wednesday.

This is an older park with many long-term residents. The park is well-kept, showers are clean and very usable, laundry room is clean and inexpensive to use. The pads are packed composite material and gravel. The staff is nice and helpful.

The sites are close together and offer no privacy, if privacy is what you need or want.

My only complaint, and it was a sporadic problem, is the park is located with a quarter mile of a dairy operation. As long as the prevailing winds were out of the west, no smell, but a few times the smell was overwhelming.

The price reflects our week stay. We paid a $100.00 deposit, but that was fully refunded at the end of the week. We have solar and didn't use much power.
