My wife has a work obligation in Barre, Vermont on Sunday and Lazy Lions has proven to be a great spot for us to be in the interim.

The campground is well-kept and quiet at night. The on-sight laundry facility is a good one. We're here after Labor Day so the pool is closed.

Rock of Ages granite quarry is a walk away for the camp and an interesting spot. A corollary to the quarry is Hope Cemetery in Barre. While cemeteries may not generally interest you, this one is chocked full of great headstones, many sculpted by great artists.

Verizon service is great here. My wife was able to work and we also were able to stream easily.

The entrance to this park is worth the price of admission. Pastoral and seasonal hay rounds in a freshly mown field. The person who greeted us allowed us to check in 30 minutes early without hesitation which was nice because it allowed for us to take a nice bicycle ride around the campground and then down the road to the lock and dam.

Our site on the water was level and clean. While the the past few COE sites at which we've stayed were cement, our site here was finely packed composite material. I should mention that site 16 next to ours has a dock which, to my thinking, makes it a bit more desirable. Wish I'd known.

While there were a number of units in the campground, it was quiet in the evenings save for the a few local birds making a bit of racket on ocassion.

We had a full hook up site. The price reflects my senior discount pass. The bathhouse near us was more than adequate, the water hot and the facility clean.

There seemed to be a number of campers with an intention to fish. Without belaboring the obvious, campground located on a nice body of water, if fishing is your thing, this must be the place. There's even a nice place to clean your catch located on site.

While we're still relatively new to the genre, though I'm a longstanding backpacker, I'm making all my observations with relatively new eyes. But it seems to me, after a few stays at three different campgrounds, the COE has an eye for this type of camping. This one, no different.

This is our second campground and first Army Corp of Engineers park we've stayed in since picking up our new van a week ago in Saint Louis. I've been reading about, and marking as favorites, campgrounds for future reference for over a year in anticipation of traveling full-time once my wife retires. This is my first review.

As with most COE parks about which I've read reviews, this park is nicely maintained. All the pads are concrete and the majority are level, and all of the sites are nicely cleaned after each use. I attribute some of the cleanliness to locals who use and appreciate having such a nice facility. They leave their sites clean.

All sites have water and electricity. There's a dump station on site with easy pull through access.

The park is relatively large and nice for walking or riding a bicycle. There's a boat ramp for those who come to fish and numerous places to wet a hook from the shore. There's a beach for swimming in warmer weather.

The bathhouse is relatively new and clean with flush toilets. Showers have adequate water pressure and the water is hot enough for a great shower. There are at least two additional locations on the grounds with flush toilets.

There's no cell service and no wi-fi. I could pick up between 3 and 5 television stations we have not watched. While we have a satellite dish, we've opted to forgo getting a service for now, so don't know about reception. A few of the river sites may provide enough exposure for satellite reception, but the other sites off of the river are heavily wooded and shaded and probably won't.

The campground is located a ways off of Interstate 20-59 and about an hour's drive from Birmingham, Alabama. The road is good and the drive to the campground is a bit winding, but not difficult. The campground is pretty isolated, so get all your provisions before you travel to the campground.

Lastly, the campground is located in a beautiful setting just below a lock and damn on the Warrior River. It has been really quiet even when we had a group of college students next to us for the last few days. All the hosts we've met are nice and helpful.

The $14.00 price per night reflects my senior pass discount.

Killens Pond State Park in Felton, Delaware has a nicely wooded campground located on Killens Pond. The campground offers electricity and water hookups and a dump station. The pads are packed dirt. We stayed one evening, cooked outside and enjoyed the cooler temperatures of late August in Delaware.

We've just spent a couple of quiet, restful nights camped at Bagby. We camped here for a day trip into Yosemite National Park (there are closer places to camp than Bagby, if you're not in the park). We entered Yosemite on Portal Road through Mariposa, California.

Our site was water/electric. There's no dump station.

The campground hosts are friendly and eager to help with information and they make sure you have what you need.

The facilities (restrooms/shower house) are a bit dated, but relatively clean. We didn't use them.

Lake McClure is fed by the Merced River and is non-existent at the camp ground due to the extended California drought. The river is quite beautiful though and the setting is pastural compete with geese, turkeys and cows grazing in what was once the lake bed.

Our only downside was no Verizon cell service even though the coverage map above indicates there is coverage.

We camped on Friday and Saturday and there were never more than 7 different sites occupied.

Very nice campground with full hook up spots along scenic Gulpha Creek. We had no services (no water, no electric, bathrooms locked) due to the government shutdown, but we made use of the communal springs in town to fill our water tank and that's all we needed for our stay.

The campground was very well kept despite no services per se. I assumed the two volunteers staying the campground were responsible for the upkeep though I did not see them during our entire stay. I did, however, hear one of their generators running most of the day whenever we were in the campground which was annoying at best. I could see the television on in their camper.

There's some road noise, as previously noted, due to proximity to a road that is heavily used during morning and evening commutes. It's very quiet at night, especially after the volunteer turned off the generator.

We've lived in Birmingham, Alabama for many years and are currently staying around town in our van while we wait to begin traveling full-time in January 2019. Tannehill is about a twenty minute drive on I-20-59 from Birmingham where my wife is employed until the end of the month. The park is conveniently located off the interstate.

The RV park itself is clean and this time of year there are only a few other units, some of a more permanent nature. Our nightly rate reflects the winter weekly rate starting December 1st ($150.00 a week for full hook up).

We've taken several nice walks around the park. I imagine during the warmer months there's much more activity. There's a small gauge railroad for children. If it weren't cold, riding our bikes would be a thing too.

This is a Confederate historical site. There was an Iron Works located here during the war. The drive in is on Confederate Parkway. Honestly, I've experienced so much obfuscation about the Civil War while living in Alabama, any history to be found here doesn't hold much interest for me, the war was such a BS endeavor. The restored log structures are, however, nice.

The bath house I'm using is a bit dated, but clean and the showers I've taken are hot. There's laundry facility located in the bathhouse I may avail myself of before we leave, but I can't say anything about it now. A small camp store sells some food and necessities and serves as the place to check in (first come, first served, no reservations). The folks taking care of things are personable and helpful.

Buffalo River State Park and campground is our first Minnesota State Park. Nicely maintained by the State of Minnesota, The Nature Conservancy and Minnesota State University, the park features hiking trails, swimming, picnic area and the Minnesota State University Moorhead Regional Science Center.

The bathhouse is relatively new and very well maintained. Our Verizon service was very good.

We're here just after Labor Day and there are very few people in the campground.

Molly Stark State Park, just outside of Wilmington, Vermont, was our first Vermont State Park. At only 148 acres, it is smallish. What I'd call a pocket park. But what it lacks in acreage, it makes up for in quality of sites and amenities.

Molly Stark has 23 tent/RV sites and 11 lean-to sites. Sites are all dry camping, no electric, no water, no sewer. The sites are all nicely spaced, many carved out of the forest with attention to privacy. There's also a relatively new (2 years old) bath house with 4 showers, a place to get fresh water and a convenient dump station for RV's.

One of the best parts of the park is the Mount Olga hiking loop trail with a spur trail leading up to a fire tower that gives one who climbs it a spectacular 360 degree view of the surrounding area. When we're back through Vermont, this park will definitely be on our list of places to park Miranda.

We were able to stream Netflix from our site.

On the advice of friends we stopped in Bisbee on our way to Tucson. Queen Mine RV is located in a perfect spot to explore downtown Bisbee, an artists' haven in southern Arizona. We had a great Mexican meal at Satiago's and we bought coffee at Old Bisbee Roasters. Happy with both. Bisbee's a cool spot for an overnight visit. Queen Mine provides a great space to stay for your visit.
