A small and old campground. But it was very clean and we even used the showers. The cost was very reasonable.

The best part it was a short walk to the old mining town of Bisbee.

All sizes of RVs were there. It was quiet at night and everyone who parked there was friendly.

Since it is almost in town, it was full every night. So make reservations way ahead.

Nifty C/G located on top of an old copper mine just south of downtown Bisbee. Make sure they have space for you before pulling up the tight drive. Once there you are on top of the world as seen around Bisbee, AZ. Full services including laundry, centrally located to area attractions and a fun place to stay.

The city downtown is a combo of being a tourist trap and a throwback to the days of hippy ghettos. The mining town is built pin hills, narrow streets, creeks running everywhere and fun to visit.

They circled 'round like oz covered wagons, protecting their own. Though they came from backgrounds as varied as Fleetwood to Bounder, Scamp to Prevost, they each held their positions firm.

No gunslinging, no cattle wrestling would be had tonight.

Or such is the layout of this place, plenty of open space in the middle, all of the RVs backed in around the perimeter.

Once they were full but, upon seeing our VW Bus, told us we could find a small spot in the corner which had a plug but no other hookups. A plug meant the fan running the propane heater would work. It wasn't that cold. We took it.

I'm still not positive that they did that because we had a cool old vintage campervan, or if the woman running the place found my girlfriend as lovely and downright cute as I do, or if it was simply a matter of "well, you'll fit over there and you say you don't need water so...", but I'd like to think it more a combination of the two than the latter.

The mountain looking above you on one side of the park. The massive mining pit to the south. The clean showers and a little shaded picnic table perfect for picking up the park's wifi. But mostly, vastly and insurmountably the best thing about this little RV park is the proximity to Bisbee, Arizona. An entire town full of spectacle, mystery, and just a touch sense of danger.

I could, I would, and someday I may, live in Bisbee. I've been to some 17,472 places in this country considered at least a designated consensus area, and less than ten have made me feel that way, so it's easy to imagine I may have overlooked some sort of downside to this park, but it's not about hanging around your site, it's merely a great spot to fall asleep after a day of climbing to the big B or the shrine atop the Mule Mountains and looking down over what appears to be a child's toy replica of a working 1800s boomtown still in full effect all of these turns of the century later. It's about hopping from establishment to establishment, each one slightly seedier than the next, and that there be a compliment indeed, and meeting truly surprising and unique individuals.

I'll leave the who's what's and hownow's of exactly what else to expect, but if you find yourself in Bisbee and not falling in love with the place, I'd love to hear your story, for you must be Maleficent.

Perfectly adequate camping-in-a-big-gravel-lot perched on the edge of an abandoned copper mine (if you're in to that sort of thing). Kinda tight quarters but everyone toed the line. Clean showers and laundry facilities. Don't drink the water though. Bisbee is a unique ruin of a town where every building is teeters on a hill side, seemingly on it's last legs. And that's what is so charming about it.

DO NOT MISS walking from the campground or driving to Lowell, a tiny abandoned strip of retail businesses from way-back machine. Excellent food to be had at the Bisbee Breakfast Club. A step back in time. Great beer, too, at the Old Bisbee Brewing Company.

What an unusual setting. You camp upon a flat piece of land right on the edge of an old pit mine. Others have talked about the surroundings. I'll concentrate on the campground.

WARNING: There is a 13' 5" bridge you have to go under to get to the campground. We are 13' 4" and made it. Phew.

WARNING: The hill to the campground has a sharp turn. We were able to do it in a 40' RV pulling our car. If you are longer than that, you better be pretty good at maneuvering your rig. When leaving, we used the lower parking lot (where the Queen Mine Tour is) to hook our toad back up to the RV.

Payment is cash or check only. Show up and pick a spot. There may or may not be someone in the office which is tucked in the back right corner. Payment envelopes are there. WiFi was excellent, as was park cable. Area is all gravel. You are close to your neighbor, but there are some plantings between you. Electric is only 30 amps. I forgot and tripped the breaker when I turned on my second air conditioner. Oops.

If passing through the area and I needed someplace to stay, I'd stop again.

We weren't really sure what we were in for when we arrived, but the photos don't really do this place justice. Yes, it's a small gravel parking lot with a handful of spaces that are fairly tightly spaced. The owners have taken care to add plants, handpainted signs, and a picnic structure that give this place a lot of character in spite of the small size. We loved being a 5 minute walk down the hill to Bisbee's old town, and watching sunsets over the hill and the old mine. We wanted to do the mine tour, but ran out of time. We could easily have stayed here a couple weeks, but the road was calling and we had a weather window open up for a Grand Canyon visit. We'll definitely be back.

As past part-time residents and more recently 9 years as full time residents of Bisbee until relocating, my wife and I decided to give the Queen Mine RV Park a try. Nice, clean, and to our surprise, no traffic noise. We were there for business so we did not have a chance to really investigate the Park area, but knowing Bisbee quite well, our overall experience was very good. Full hookups including cable and wifi we saw as a plus. While there is quite a hill to climb walking back from town, the shops and nightlife are about a half mile away and well worth the walk. The bath & shower house was clean and also had the laundry inside. The bath house door code is provided at check in. Overall a safe and secure location just above the Queen mine Tour parking lot, (also well worth the time and money based on past tours we have taken). The views are great, the breeze was refreshing, and our walk to Santiago's for dinner was relatively easy. About the only negative I saw was the RV spaces are somewhat tighter than similar RV Parks, but then, how many are limited to space due to being situated on a mesa? There is a lot more to do than shop and eat in Bisbee. And within an hours drive there are many other attractions such as birding, visiting Tombstone etc. YES, absolutely, we will be back.

There was no way our 39' rig pulling a vehicle could make the turns GPS was giving us to get to the campground. Those who did and have, hats off to you. This is one town we'll visit via our Jeep.

I had quite a bit of trouble making a reservation, no one ever answered the phone or returned my voicemails. Nevertheless there were sites available when I arrived and the self-registration process was simple enough. Showers and laundry were very nice and clean. Downtown Bisbee is an easy walk from the RV park. Most sites do not have tables, but some do. All of the sites are quite close to one another.

All about location here as it is an easy walk to downtown Bisbee. You can almost reach out and touch your neighbor but owners are really friendly, the showers very clean, laundry is very reasonable and quiet at night.
