They own 3 buildings (plus outside displays) with used books. Whenever we come to CT we always visit at least two of the buildings.

I love books and I always come away with finding fill in books from authors I enjoy reading.

While there, I saw 3 or 4 families with children picking out books. The kids were carrying them out to their cars and that’s the best thing a parent can do for a child. Get them to read and learn.

Plenty of parking and if you got time, visit at least the barn store. Plan on spending hours if you want.

Niantic is a small town with a lot of fish restaurants.

We didn’t want to spend a day at Gettysburg, so we opted for Harpers Ferry. I agree with what everyone said about it and I would just repeating things.

A few things…if you are driving a car, pickup truck or nothing bigger than a B-Class RV, then you can try and park at the train depot or a parking lot about a 1/2 mile out of town.

If you are driving a big rig or you don’t want to walk from a parking lot, then park at the main parking lot at the visitor center and take the shuttle bus to the town.

There are many restaurants to eat at. But bring water and snacks. Wear comfortable walking shoes and there is a public restroom also.

We spent about 3 hours here, plus lunch.

I agree with what everyone said about the museum.

Here are a few other tips…there are street parking. We were fortunate to find a parking place next to the post office. We own a class B RV (van type), so we couldn’t use the parking garage.

We were there for over an hour. Yes we could of spent 3 hours there easily. But reading, listening and watching videos gets overwhelming.

I saw a few people crying and that added to my heartache.

As a reviewer said, if you ask when a park ranger will be outside, usually next to the reflection pool, go. They can give more info or their thoughts about it all and can answer any questions you have.

A small and old campground. But it was very clean and we even used the showers. The cost was very reasonable.

The best part it was a short walk to the old mining town of Bisbee.

All sizes of RVs were there. It was quiet at night and everyone who parked there was friendly.

Since it is almost in town, it was full every night. So make reservations way ahead.

We slept at Patagonia State Park right near the stocked lake. It’s about 30 miles from Tubac. Must make reservations way ahead. The lake draws hundreds of campers most year round. You can hike, boat and so much more.

We saw deer, people fishing, kids playing in the sand on the beach, campfires at night and …well just a relaxing area that I never knew it was there.

Bring your bikes or fishing poles and have fun.

Nice grounds to walk around but I can tell they need more help and money to get it back to being where it should be.

Many of the plant signs need replacing and it just needs to be worked on.

They have a closed in butterfly area and that was nice. If they were to double the size and make it a known attraction in Tucson, I’m sure it would generate more money for them.

The original hose for the farm is still in use.

Plenty of parking for all sizes of RVs.

A little old but very clean and a good location to see most of Tucson. Right off the I-10 but pretty quiet. I would definitely stay here again.

The price is very reasonable, but book ahead.

If you’ve never been up close to a Saguaro Cactus, then it’s a must see. Stop in at the visitor center and they’ll give you hiking trails, etc.
Any size RV is ok for this area. Just remember to bring a jacket for late afternoon walks and plenty of water.
I recommend going to the Desert Museum after checking out the cactus. There is plenty of room at the museum for even A class units.

Note: Unless you are pulling a small trailer or have a class B, I don’t recommend going through the pass (over a very steep, narrow and winding road) to Tucson. Double back the way you came.

I agree that this is not a ghost town. But how they recreated the old mining tow and with actresses, actors and as well music performers, they did a very good job of entertaining you.

A great place for children of all ages. They get children and adults involved with everything from playing wash boards to adults competing shoveling rocks into an oar cart.

Small train ride available and tours for a small amount.

We opted to spend the evening in our B-Class in their RV Campground. There is plenty of sites and how can you beat a combined price of $40 for RV campground and entrance fee for two of us.

Wear good hiking shoes if you got them. There are a lot of rough areas you walk on. There were a few places that you can get food, snacks and drinks.

Overall, you can spend an hour to four hours here. I recommend finding when they have a festival going on.

Enjoy!

A must see if you are In Taos NM. There are 70 homes that are are recycling water, growing food and herbs. Solar power homes with a sophisticated electrical system.

They have built homes throughout the world and in every state.

Plenty of parking for all sizes of RV’s. They do tours but call ahead. It wasn’t expensive to get in and my wife and I did our own tour in one of the buildings.

The only reason I gave it 4 stars, I wish we were able to to visit other homes inside. Every home was built different. You’ll come away with a reason to recycle, conserve and benefit the environment.

A side note: we slept 3 miles away at the rest stop that is right next to the Rio Grande bridge. That was amazing and seeing mountain goats early in the morning was worth it alone.
