There are some RV Parks that have existed for many years and have thrived and stayed relevant. I’m sad to say that this park is not one of them. If the owners truly want to stay in business and maintain a good reputation amongst RVer’s and campers, an infusion of cash and care needs to occur. Let me give a few pros. The park is easy to get to off of US-40 and conveniently located next to Starvation Reservoir. There are some trees that provide a small amount of shade. The price to stay for a night was great at $35-$39 for full hookups. The electric, water and sewer worked well and was conveniently placed.
Now for the cons. First let me say that the ongoing drought in the western US, which is severe, has been hard on this park but there are only so many ways to attribute all the issues to the drought. Being a desert climate, this park should reflect this and can be neat and visually appealing with the right accents and care. Check in is done online but there is poor cellular service in this area and the park Wi-Fi requires a password which you don’t get until AFTER you check in. When we arrived in the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday, the place looked like an old west ghost town. I was having a hard time distinguishing what was supposed to be grass and what was our parking site. I found a fellow camper and he helped me see where to park. After about 20-30 minutes, one of the management team walked up to me with a tag to place in my vehicle. There were signs around that said to “Keep off the Grass”. This was laughable as there was not a piece of grass in sight. The park is in need of tidying up with the camphosts site being the first place to start. There was debris and old and weathered items strewn about the area around their trailer. With so few people in the park, I took my dog for a short stretch walk without his leash and was told by the female manager to have my dog on a leash due to other dogs in the park. I agreed and then watched her dog on at least 3 separate occasions walking with her husband in the park off leash. The park also advertises Wi-Fi. It basically does not exist. I was told that “when the wind blows, the Wi-Fi doesn’t work very well”. In this part of Utah, the wind is always blowing! We have sketchy connectivity at best with our cellular modem that we use. The men’s restroom/shower was adequate but the women’s restroom had 2 of the 4 stalls placed out of order.
We had two nights booked at this park but decided quickly that we’d only stay for one and donate the fee for the second night to the park. From all looks of things, they need it.

This small park is an amazing spot for a night or two. The RV park is located in a county park and has water and electric hookups at all 12 spaces. There is a dump station also on the premises. Being a public park, there is a great deal of green space with trees making it a very pleasant place to bed down for a night or two. The spaces are fairly close but staggered so that you don’t feel cramped. There is no WiFi or cable but local channels are available via antenna and my Verizon signal was strong.

The park is located a short 2 miles off the interstate just 10 miles south of Idaho Falls. The best part for me was the fact that the park has a 9 hole disc golf course making it a fun and relaxing place to stay.

This RV park is a wonderful place to spend some time. Many of the sites have ample space between each site and offer great views of the surrounding countryside. Most of the spaces are nestled in trees that offer shade, atmosphere but likely won’t severely block dish signal. Some of the spaces are a small challenge to back into so if you are not comfortable with that activity, be clear that you need easy access when reserving. We have full hookups and Wi-Fi is very strong for being in such a remote setting. The staff was pleasant to deal with upon check-in and when interacting throughout the park. There is a great deal of green space for activities and it offers a great atmosphere amongst the pine and aspen trees. Dogs must be on leash as is in most parks but there is national forest property next to the park and dogs can run off leash until they drop if so desired. Lots of trails and other outdoor activities here too. We highly recommend this park for your next getaway.

The KOA in Richfield is a great little park in the middle of town. Its location makes it very convenient to fuel, groceries and other items that you may need for your journey. There are many trees making it a very shady property and appealing even on hot days. It is easy on and off Interstate 70 and the sites are nicely spaced. There are many options for spaces here as well. All of the typical KOA amenities are offered and the price is reasonable as well. The wifi was strong and the park was easy to negotiate. We did not use the showers or restrooms but assume they are nice. The staff was very nice and helpful as well. We would stay here again.

This RV park is quite the little diamond in the rough. It is quaint and well kept. Sharon and Jim are fantastic and always there to help out if you need something. The sites are level and there is ample space between each RV spot. Full hookups and 50 amp service was very sufficient for our needs. Sewer was sloped appropriately and was easy to use. There is no cable TV but when I ran a scan on my antenna, I picked up 52 channels of varying quality. Wifi is not screaming fast but adequate for email and surfing the net. This park is located on the west side of Camp Verde and is very quiet. There are some full timers here but that doesn’t bother us as they seem to be well kept. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend Rancho Verde RV park if you are in this area.

The Rawlins KOA is a decent place to stop for a night. It is not the prettiest place in Wyoming and the area is very dry in the summer months. Thus, you see very little green and a lot of brown. That isn’t the fault of the campground owners. The staff was very accommodating and friendly. They are fairly new owners and trying to make the place better. The sites are fairly close but not crammed together. The utilities were good and the Wi-Fi was very good. It is just off the interstate so there was a little noise but not terrible. Our site was easy to get into and level.

This campground is quite large but has a nice overall feel to it. I can certainly see that on summer weekends it would be crazy busy with families trying to have a little getaway due to all there is to do here. The lake is very nice and allows fishing and includes a nice walking path around the entire lake. The staff was very friendly and the spaces are crammed in like many KOAs can be. Lots of trees but also many sites with open views to the sky if you have solar or Skylink needs. The only real negative so far is the wifi signal which is weak so plan for a backup source if you need it. For the kids, there is a great playground, paddle boats for the lake, mini golf, swimming pool, peddle cars and a train ride too. The camp store is well stocked and has most everything you might need plus ice cream treats. Another nice feature of this particular KOA are the themed weekend events they have all year long. Things like Campsgiving, Pet weekend, Run the Lake weekend, Halloween Weekends 1,2 and 3 and others. Really impressed by this KOA overall.

This campground is a typical KOA with more trailers packed in a space then ought to be. Our back in site was very narrow with other RVs parked close by on all sides. There was a narrow strip of grass that gave our dog a place to roll around a bit but otherwise it was mostly not useful for anything. It was difficult to park my pickup without either sticking out into the road or blocking access to my RV stairs. The utilities were good other than the Wi-Fi and yes that is a utility in this day and age. Campgrounds should not be allowed to say that Wi-Fi is free when it is so poor.

Sadly I believe that the KOA brand does not have high enough standards across the system. There are some wonderful KOA locations that we have enjoyed and then there are the "parking lots" that tend to always jolt me back to wondering why I bother staying at a KOA.

On the good side of things, the location of this operation is good with easy access to shopping, fuel and the interstate. Noise was not bad and the staff was very friendly.

I generally keep my expectations for KOA campgrounds low and then when I find a nice one, I’m pleasantly surprised. The KOA in Vernal is nice. The spaces are not crammed in and there is a nice variety of site types. We were in a 50 Amp oversized shaded site and it was quite nice. Great trees and some green grass which we like. There are many other types to choose from, some with shade and some in the open for dish viewers. Like most KOAs, there is a lot to do for the kids and for some adults. The campground is fairly large which makes it feel less crowded I think. Some sites do not have cable TV so ask about that when you book. Wi-Fi seems fairly good but the park wasn’t super crowded when we were there so it might struggle if they were booked solid. All other utilities were adequate and the park is close to the downtown shopping district making it very convenient for food and shopping. The staff here was very nice and we enjoyed interacting with them.

We pulled into Ennis RV Village for a week of R & R and were greeted warmly by two nice ladies with big smiles on their faces. Off to a great start! Check in was seamless and quick and we were directed to our FHU pull through. The park is nice with green space between each site, even though it’s a little small. There are some trees but most are not very big. The spaces are gravel as are the roadways. Spaces are level and hook ups very convenient and located in center of space. One nice addition that the owner thought of is that there are two sewer dumps at each space. One in the center and one towards the back. This accommodates most everyone with only one sewer hose.

There is no cable tv and local channels are few to none. Wi-Fi is the best I have seen at an RV park. Kudos to the management for having a 21st century system that will accommodate today’s traveler’s needs! Another very positive aspect of this park is how the view pets. Dogs must be leashed OR under direct supervision at all times. Our dog is very well behaved and can easily walk off leash without issue. Again, thank you management for this option.

Restrooms were clean and spacious. While we like a few more trees and green space in an RV park setting, this park has many positive benefits and we recommend it when you are in the Ennis Montana area.
