We stopped here for one night between two dry camping events. Pool was cold because heater was broken. Site was fine. Quiet with clean bathrooms. I'm not really a KOA affectionado but this one served its purpose well.

Park was very clean. We arrived in early May which can still be cool the pool was not opened yet. I live in the state so we didn’t expect the pool to be opened yet.
When you first arrive you can be a little concerned about the highway but we never heard the traffic.
Each evening we had deer and if you are an early riser you can see turkey.

We had reservations for dry camping in Dinosaur National Monument, but as we approached and the thermometer kept rising, up to 108, we were thankful to find an available full hookup site at this KOA. We rarely camp in RV parks, but this was a decent stop in that we took advantage of the laundry (quarters only), the pool, and the hookups which afforded us a comfortable night’s sleep with AC.
While our site was full hookups, it was located toward the back of the park with only a tiny bit of shade, some gravel, and a picnic table. It worked for what we needed (for one night), but we would not spend $64 again for that site. The premium sites are definitely nicer.
The staff is incredibly friendly, and the family-friendly amenities are fun.

We had a reservation made well in advance for a pull thru and they gave us a site that was a pull thru but so short we would have to unhook. Then they moved us to a pull thru that was overgrown with grass. Finally moved us to another site that had no gravel and all dirt. Multiple red ant hills. Muddy mess when it rained. Then overcharged us. Glad the playground for the kids was nice but made it very noisy.

I generally keep my expectations for KOA campgrounds low and then when I find a nice one, I’m pleasantly surprised. The KOA in Vernal is nice. The spaces are not crammed in and there is a nice variety of site types. We were in a 50 Amp oversized shaded site and it was quite nice. Great trees and some green grass which we like. There are many other types to choose from, some with shade and some in the open for dish viewers. Like most KOAs, there is a lot to do for the kids and for some adults. The campground is fairly large which makes it feel less crowded I think. Some sites do not have cable TV so ask about that when you book. Wi-Fi seems fairly good but the park wasn’t super crowded when we were there so it might struggle if they were booked solid. All other utilities were adequate and the park is close to the downtown shopping district making it very convenient for food and shopping. The staff here was very nice and we enjoyed interacting with them.

We stayed here on our way back from Colorado to Oregon. We showed up and was super surprised at how nice and clean the park is, we were here during Dino Days and hot air balloons. Big Rv slots so you don’t feel cramped, great staff, and the kids has a blast on the play ground. Currently planning a week long trip this summer to explore more dinosaurs.

Some of the amenities use upkeep like new mini golf clubs and more of the bike rentals. The tether ball was also broken. No one was certified to fill propane at the propane fill station. Friendly staff. Lots of fun for the kids.
