We would have stayed longer if we had more to do. Staff was outstanding and the food truck cooking was great! The morning views were colorful with some deer in the field.

What a wonderful place. The road into the park was 14 miles of country road, which even makes it more attractive and secluded. Our first California beach experience, WOW. Our site #22 was easy to back into with no hookups. The staff was friendly. The bathrooms were old but clean. They are going to add some new bathrooms in showers under construction now! Great place to get together with friends and family.

This little campground has been peaceful and relaxing. Sites are spread out nicely with well kept areas. The sites are not all on even ground but easy to deal with. The Host is exceptional and friendly. Bathroom's are clean .

We were all alone for 3 days in a huge parking lot. We enjoyed the miles of endless beach and the overlook. No amenities except an outhouse. For a spot you need to use recreation.gov. It was really peaceful and lonely. During the day dune buggies would come through or beachcombers would park. Would come again.

Great place to stop!! 30 & 50 amp spots with water. Ferndale is a unique town that still looks like an 19th century town. They have over 60 Victorian homes to gauck at, it's a pretty cool place. Plenty of other "Redwood" attractions in the area. You can even get to the Northern edge of the lost coast. Nice place to stop for a few days. 48$ for 30amp hookups.
For starters it was easy to find. It is perfect for a couple of days of dry camping with easy access to Joshua Trees National Park. The amenities were great for a relaxing view of the sunsets and stars. The owner was very helpful and easy to get a hold of if needed. We will stay again.👍👍👍👍
We arrived mid afternoon and had to call the managers home. They told us to pick a spot. Their fulltime "campers" were a little messy, okay a lot messy. It wasn't that scary because of the openness. It was only an overnight stay and the price was right. I would do it again. By the way, if the owners did a little clean up and repair this would be a pretty nice place to stop at.
We loved staying in the open campground. Spot was next to bathroom/shower but not a problem. Paved pads with water and 30 amp electric, no 50amp. Sewer dump provided on the way out, free. 24$ is worth every dime. The state park is a great added value. Never seen wild burrows before until now.
We are not desert people, but this was one of the best places so far on our journey. Perched above the Colorado River on a ridge to, Navajo nation across the river and the vermilion cliffs behind us what more do you wan with Interesting hikes in the area ...neat place to stay.
