We stop at every Capital building, when visiting a new state. And spend a whole lot of time, because it was ridiculously hot. I mean ridiculous. I'm not sure why anybody would live here. LOL. I live on the Mendocino Coast in California and it doesn't get hotter than 65. So this was just too much to handle. It was like 100° at 10:00 in the morning. The outside is pretty nice though. We didn't even bother trying to go in.

We stayed at spot 335A. It was near all the RVs. I had picked this spot thinking it was super close to the Lake. It's not. There is no view or anything. None of the camping seems to have any view of the lake. We also picked it because it's close to the bathroom.

The bathroom was absolutely disgusting. They have a paper on the wall they sign when cleaned. There was a 3-4 day gap, often. It showed. The showers.... I didn't dare. It smelled so terrible of mildew, and looked like you would catch something being in the area.

There is SO much trash all over the property. Our campground was full of trash and dirty diapers. I couldn't help myself, I started picking it up all around us. I'm talking dirty diapers, paper, bottles. I didn't once see anyone cleaning anywhere, ever. You sure see them driving around all the time, not doing much. Weird.

When we checked in, we were given a code to the bathroom. It was wrong. We had to hunt someone down to get it, who told us they're always changing it, and nobody ever knows the right code. Um... Okay....

We tried eating at the pizza/bar place. The food is terrible. Lol. I mean, frozen food, that they microwaved kind of terrible.

We originally booked here because of the fun zone in the water at the beach. I guess it closed early, a few weeks before our arrival. They "conveniently" didn't email to notify us of this until 3 days prior to our arrival. Even more convenient, they have a seven day cancellation. I see what they did there.

The only good experience we had, was renting a patio boat for a couple of hours. That was fun, and we enjoyed it. It was just two of us, and not many people on the water.

I don't think I would ever return here. I can't say it was a great experience.

This was such a disappointing experience. We drove 6 hours to get here. Stay in a hotel for a couple of nights so we didn't have to rush. Only to arrive there and be told, sorry there's a tree down. No tours today. So, you couldn't call us? Email? Anything???

I get things happen. But the way they handled it was so unprofessional. Their attitude was like oh well, no tours, too bad for you. We asked if we could come back later. They said it would be closed all day. Hmmm. Must have been some massive tree then huh.

They basically just shooed us out. No sorry you had to drive all this way for nothing. No hey, here's a discount for next time. Just yep sorry you have to leave now bye.

They said they would refund us. We had paid online. He said I would get an email that day letting us know they processed the refund. That was 3 days ago and I still haven't heard a thing.

This was fun. We did the 90 minute cruise. That was a bit boring. A lot of history on the area, if you're into that. It doesn't go far. Basically back and forth in front of the casinos. It turns around just after Harrah's, and again at the bridge just on the other side of The Riverside. Drinks and snack items, for purchase. You can sit inside, in the A/C, or at top, in the open air. There is a bathroom on the boat

The dinner cruise was better. You eat inside, in the lower deck. When you arrive, there is a salad and rolls waiting. Then they bring out whatever meal you opted for. I got the chicken marsala, which was pretty good. Came with rice and veggies. Chicken was cooked well. Veggies were cold and hard.

Hubby got the prime rib, well done. Was delicious. Came with potatoes and veggies. He got the lobster tail for an additional charge. He loved it. Said it was cooked well, and definitely worth the price.

We also ordered a few drinks. They come out pretty quick. Then they bring dessert. Cake. We paid the upcharge for a cookie pie, with ice cream. Delicious.

It's the same route, in front of the casinos. But they play music, and on the top deck, there was a lady with a guitar, singing. It was nice. It wasn't too hot at this time, so we lucked out. I do suggest the dinner cruise. But I wouldn't suggest both. It's basically the same cruise, just one has dinner. If you had to choose between the two I would do the dinner.

So pretty out here. Definitely take this route. Quiet. So many Joshua trees. The scenes are amazing. And we got a shirt thunder and lightning show.

This place is so fun! So many cool things to see. A spaceship in front, a car full of aliens, huge aliens holding signs. That's just outside! Not to mention, the building itself was spacey looking.

Looks like they have another building that has food? But it wasn't open. And looks like they are building a hotel! I'm so there!

The store inside has so much stuff. Surprisingly little jerky. Lots of other stuff. Candy. Snacks. Souvenirs. And the decorations are so fun! Super happy we stopped here. Loved it. And the world's tallest thermometer is just down the street.

This is neat to see. We had no idea it was even there. We actually went to the alien fresh jerky, and drove by this. I'm surprised it's not advertised more. LOL. There's a gift shop and everything. Although we didn't stop. We just kind of drove by and took a few photos. Definitely worth a stop.

This is such a cute little place. Perfect for two. It is on a busy highway, in not such a great area. But definitely worth a night here. Not sure I'd want to spend more than one night, but the novelty is so fun.

We were in one of the back ones, so it was super quiet. Didn't have any problems. The room was surprisingly large. Looking from the outside you would think it was tiny. But I had a bed, one night stand, a couch, and a table. There was a mini fridge. But there was no coffee maker or microwave.

The bathroom was a pretty good size. The shower was a little strange. More like an RV shower with a large step up to get in. The two gentlemen checking Us in we're very friendly. The guy did mention he was training his brother. But he did great. There's a nice pool. We did not use that though. We didn't have time unfortunately.

There were several hairs on the towels in the bathroom. But to be honest, I find that in most hotels. It's one of the things I look for, because it grosses me out. Lol. That's all I can really fault. Overall it was a great stay.

Kinda neat. We've driven by a dozen times. Finally decided to stop. Located next to the one log house, it's two tourist traps next to each other.

It's free to see the tree. Walk around it. There isn't anything else to see. There is a gift shop there.

Definitely a quick hop out, hop in stop. Worth a visit. Stretch your legs.
