“Marking the highest temperature recorded in Death Valley”
The World's Largest Thermometer is 134-ft.-tall, symbolic of the record high temperature in the US, in Death Valley -- 134 degrees Fahrenheit in 1913.
Fun place to stop! Baker(in general) was a great place to have a break from a long road trip. The thermometer can be seen from far off and its soooo fun!
It's open!! Make sure you stop by! Family run and all the proceeds from the gift shop go towards keeping the thermometer up and running!
It is open! Fun side stop on the way to Vegas. Cute family-run place, the owners are excited to tell you about the history and to get it 'back on the maps'. Definitely worth a stop for a picture & postcard
It's true; it's open! the staff are very nice, there's free cold bottled water, and there's a sparse but reasonably priced gift shop.
Stopped in even though reviews said closed and not working. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it was not only opened and working but staffed by family members of the originator. They just had a grand re opening the day before we stopped in which happened to be the day back in 1913 that Death Valley reached 134. Great place to stop and great staff!
Stopped in even though reviews said closed and not working. We were pleasant
Closed and not very cool.
It hasnt worked in SO long. Everytime I drive by (which is 4-5 times a year for work) its been busted.
Well...it's a thermometer and it's big. It's a neat roadside attraction.
Good spot to stop for food and gas. The thermometer itself is ok
