Arrival - Pay close attention to the directions on https://www.militarycampgrounds.us/florida/80-manatee-cove-campground. Also, pay very close attention to the requirements at check-in. For those who have opted for paperless registration for their vehicles, Patrick Space Force Base Outdoor Recreation will not accept electronic copies of your registration at check-in, make sure you have paper copies of all registrations.

Tips - Arrive early, there is only one spot to pull off to register with the camp host. Have all of your requirements ready to make the process a little smoother. If there are any concrete pull throughs available, get one of those. Get ready for a difficult maneuver exercise to get into your site, they're very tight and not well laid out at all. Be patient, be careful; you break it you buy it at PSFBFamCamp.

Favorite - Nice being back on base with all the amenities close at hand. Air/Space Force bases are typically the nicest of the lot. Very close to Cape Canaveral, NASA, Cocoa Beach, Melbourne, and the A1A.

Negatives - The rules, strict even for the military. The sites are outdated and in desperate need of updating to accommodate todays rigs and tow vehicles. No wifi. No place to park your TV, except for Chevron Park at the famcamp entrance, if you can't fit it in your site. Not one of our favorite family camps.

Arrival - Super easy to get to off of I-30. Check-in was a breeze with very helpful and friendly front desk staff.

Tips - Make sure your GPS realizes the park is located on the E- I-30 Service Road. Do not follow Bass Pro Dr. to Zion Rd. towards John Paul Jones Park and the lake. If you do, there is a park parking area on the right that will allow you to turn around.

Favorite things - Newness of park, super easy site access, kids loved the pool.

Negatives - I-30 noise but, that was to be expected considering the location.

* - Our price included the trip insurance.

Arrival - Super easy with great front office communication; staff is super friendly.

Tips - Ask for the weekly, monthly, GoodSam or military discounts.

Favorites - Close to I-20, fuel, and Abilene. Nicely appointed clubhouse space. Clean campground.

Negatives - Online information is pretty sparse. No picnic tables and not allowed to put up screened enclosures. The roads around the park are in bad need of repair. I-20, Loves, TA, and industrial site noise behind and around the park.

We ended up staying here for 19 weeks for a work assignment. This is predominantly a stop over point off of the highway if you're not working in the area.

WiFi is atrocious, better have a hotspot or StarLink.

Arrival - No fanfare, just pull up to the gate, show your membership card and get escorted to a site.

Tips - Call ahead or go to https://www.facebook.com/KARSPark to see if there are any sites available. Dump before you arrive or have a trolly if you're staying longer. Make sure to pay attention to the person escorting you. If you don't place your rig appropriately, the camp manager will come and make you move your rig.

Favorites - Riverfront, across, and just south of KSC launch facilities; so close, you can feel the Merlin engines as they lift their payload to the heavens. Breeze coming off the river is lovely. Access for military and retired military. Little store is nice. Price can't be beat for the area. Nice fishing right out your front door. Sky is pretty open for Starlink.

Negatives - Dated. Camp Manager was a little grumpy.

29 JUL Edit: There is a dog run right behind site 23 next to the bathhouse, just kind of hidden.

If you have access to military camping, you can't beat this area for its proximity to the intercostal waterway (ICW) and Onslow Beach. If you have any questions regarding your eligibility, go to this invaluable website for the answers https://www.militarycampgrounds.us. Access to the site is free but, the husband and wife team appreciate donations to help with the maintenance and keep the information up-to-date.

Arrival - Single arrival lane oriented on the driver-side next to the registration office; plan your arrival time accordingly. Easy registration process if you arrive during business hours. If not, go to the host on duty to get registered.

Tips - Major construction is going on on the pivot bridge spanning the ICW leading into the camping/beach area so be prepared to wait if a boat is coming through our there is construction traffic (which starts very early 0700 on the weekdays during this summer to beat the heat). If you don't have a surge suppressor, GET ONE! We have encountered two (2) big line #1 surges since we've been here which could fry all your downstream electronics.

Favorites - Location, location, location. A block to the ocean/beach, mere feet to the ICW, and less than 15 miles to Topsail and Surf City. Fairly "close" to the BX and Commissary but, there are little shoppettes and fuel all over this massive base. Shark teeth hunting is my favorite thing to do. Can't beat the price for the area. The little pavilions at each site are very nice especially to hang your sandy/wet clothing from after a water/beach day. Clear overhead for StarLinkers.

Negatives - Construction traffic/noise. Bathhouses need attention, water pressure is atrocious. The cleanliness of the park could be improved simply by campers policing their areas and leaving it better than they found it. Really can't do anything about not having a larger area for the doggies within the camping area. The dog friendly beach areas are at the extreme ends of the beach. Many low areas within the campsites lend themselves to ready flooding during the rains, sites need to be leveled and graveled to improve drainage. Confusing water spigot locations, not near the power/sewer areas.

Arrival - Easy to navigate registration lanes once you arrive. After hours check-in available by calling the number listed below in the photo. Alvin and Dean in the front office are super quick and super informative. Camp host will escort you to your site during business hours.

Tips - Make sure to follow the driving directions outlined at https://www.militarycampgrounds.us/florida/86-sigsbee-rv-park if you are towing long. We were several rows back from the water which was fine. Easy to walk down to the waters edge for sunset.

Favorites - Location in Key West at $40/night. NEX/Commissary/ITT/Gym right across the street from us. Laundry facilities right out our back door. Duval street is bikeable from the campground. Amazing sunsets and great ocean breezes. Clear line of sight for Starlink.

Negatives - Packed in like sardines (it was ok, we didn't come to Key West for the RV resort). Had to park our tow vehicle away from our fifth wheel. One night of being awakened at 0130 for campers not abiding by the 2300 - 0700 quiet hours. The camp hosts could do a better job of picking up the waterfront in my opinion.

Arrival - Perfect with advanced booking; great communication and easy to navigate arrival area.

Tips - Try to book a site as far away from UT-9 as possible, traffic kept us awake until after 0200. Be prepared for a lot of concrete, asphalt, and gravel; not much grass around here.

Favorites - "Close" to attractions, Sinclair gas station next door, site easily accommodated our rig and TV, unobstructed view of the sky for StarLink, beautiful mountains across the highway, and easy access to highway.

Negatives - Highway noise (loudest place we have stayed in 3-years of full-timing), very little in the way of grass, pet areas are too small, price for amenities is too steep, and water access at the sites are subterranean which made it difficult (impossible really) to use our primary pressure regulator; had to use the small straight backup.

Arrival - Super easy with everything arranged well ahead of arrival.

Tips - Make sure you come in via the main gate and stay to the far right to immediately access the "Del Mar" exit to Wire Mountain Rd. If you want to get out of a little bit off the sand, consider row #3 which has asphalt pads; rows 1, 2, and 4 are all sand.

Favorites - Close to beach, easy access to everything on Camp Pendleton, Oceanside, Carlsbad, San Diego etc.

Negatives - Really got busy over Labor Day Weekend and pretty difficult to get anyone on the phone to make reservations.

Arrival - Great pre-arrival communication. Everything was ready on arrival, no real registration lane to speak of or to worry about.

Tips - If you have booked sites A - D, be aware they are on your right hand side as soon as you arrive and there is very little room to turn around deeper in the park; know your park map. Also, watch your overhead if you have a taller rig as there are low hanging Live Oak branches.

Favorite - Old fish camp feel, low key versus the mega RV resort feel. Proximity to a myriad of things to do on the water and around Homosassa Springs. Smoking fast wifi at our site.

Negatives - Not really a negative but, pay heed to the consideration outlined in the "Tips" section. Site quality is on the ok range. Some noise right off the road and from the major roads further out. The canal has a pungent aquatic stink at low tide.

LookS to be a newer park. The sites are graveled, pretty level, and well spaced. Pretty bare bones right now but, has potential. It’s a hot one with zero shade. Bathroom/bathhouse is under construction. Good water pressure, electric, and sewer. WiFi needs serious help with speeds around 600K. Easy access to Fort Davis and The McDonald Observatory.
