Confirmed by 3 users | Last reported on March 19, 2024I really liked this campground. The sites were all level with water and electricity, though there is no rhyme or reason to the layout. 20 of the sites are on the water and they cost $30 a night. Off the water is $20 a night. You will need to purchase a "membership" to stay. It is good for a year and costs $25.
No real hiking from the park, but a great spot for watching launches. There were two SpaceX launches during our stay. Very close to the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex which is VERY expensive, $80 a person, and more of a theme park experience than a museum experience. I got to see some cool things, but would not do it again. The bird watching is amazing, lots of species.
Large recreating area with laundry. Wash is $1.50 and dryer is $1.00. Only a couple of open bathrooms, and no showers. There is a dump station but it is in a little bit of an ackward location. Also why do dump stations sometimes have the connection above the ground with a curb around it? What is so tough about making it flush or slightly below ground.
No one seems to walk here, driving their trucks if they need to travel more than 50 yards.
Starlink worked great here.

Arrival - No fanfare, just pull up to the gate, show your membership card and get escorted to a site.
Tips - Call ahead or go to https://www.facebook.com/KARSPark to see if there are any sites available. Dump before you arrive or have a trolly if you're staying longer. Make sure to pay attention to the person escorting you. If you don't place your rig appropriately, the camp manager will come and make you move your rig.
Favorites - Riverfront, across, and just south of KSC launch facilities; so close, you can feel the Merlin engines as they lift their payload to the heavens. Breeze coming off the river is lovely. Access for military and retired military. Little store is nice. Price can't be beat for the area. Nice fishing right out your front door. Sky is pretty open for Starlink.
Negatives - Dated. Camp Manager was a little grumpy.

We love this campground. It’s first come first serve and the waterfront sites do fill up on the weekends. Lots of wildlife to watch and frequent rocket launches to see. I enjoy watching the cruise ships over at the port coming in and out. There’s only a couple of negatives for me. No see ems are bad when there is no wind and the sandy sites can get messy during rains. They have been making a lot of improvements, so I think it will be even better to come.

This park is very spacious. Some sites on the water. Can see launches from Cape Canaveral. The restrooms and showers were clean Palm, Oak and Pine trees provide shade on some sites. Also see cruise ships coming and going. The only drawback is no sewer hookups but there is a dump site. The manager Eddie is very friendly and helpful. There is no WiFi or cable tv. . Hope to stay here again soon
