We were in Tucson to finish up a solar installation and decided to try out Snyder Hill for our first complete night off the grid (well sort of). Overall it's a nice place to stay for a couple of days, close to shopping and visiting Tucson area. We found the fellow campers to be friendly and helpful. On the weekend, ATVs zoomed by kicking up dust in some places. Easy to get in and out.

We we're in town to visit family and it was Memorial Day Weekend with NASCAR too so we were happy to get something. Fairly typical of KOA's so some amenities like pool and playground but pretty packed in together. Surprised how quiet it was at night with all the people. Bathrooms were clean and there's laundry. You can walk to groceries. There's also a gas station and cafe. Free wi-fi for what it's worth!
Nightly rate was with KOA discount on weekday.

We moved here from Bayou Segnette SP while saying in New Orleans. Big problem at this park is the sites were built back in the day of smaller RV's and we had a some fun backing in plus there's no overhang in the back. Spent two days hanging out in thunder storms and lots of rain. Close to the city and out far enough to not know it. Frogs, birds, turtles!

We stayed longer than we had planned because it was really great. The price reflects the after season rate but even at $30 it's a good deal. We were able to explore some great places from here. Our site backed onto Lake Superior. There's a mural walk that you can take in town and an artesian water spigot at the end of town for some great water. There's a Super Fund environmental recovery project next door and there is some noise but we were far enough to away that it didn't really bother us.
Not a lot of shade but in September it wasn't an issue. 50 amp was good, water was good. Dump available but a little difficult to pull our rig into.
There's wifi but we weren't able to connect with the provided password.

This is a great park with lots of sites. Very friendly welcome when we arrived without reservations. Price reflects golden oldie pass rate. We scored a great site on the water - Lake Wright Patman - up on a cliff. Nestled under oak trees, facing west with beautiful sunsets every night. We stayed here in November and they were having record high temperatures so a little too muggy for us but we had great cell signals and a strong 30 amp site enough for our ac. The only real issue was one of nature (which is hard to blame anyone for) but the oaks above dropped acorns on our roof periodically that sounded like shots being fired!
We checked out the campground in case we ever returned and the C Loop had awesome sites with easier access to the water. Not a lot of beach area here.
Nice restrooms with hot showers. Great looking playground and a disc golf course too. Not a lot to do in Texarkana except stand in two states at the same time!

This is another older COE park that has all the usual amenities - water and electric at site with dump station. Lots of trees and many sites on the water. Not all level though so it’s kind of tricky for larger rigs.
The lake is beautiful and easy for kayaking. We found a spot in the group site that was large and spacious on the lake. Even though it was off season and spots were non-reservable apparently the group site is - no signs so beware.
Easy 20 minute drive to Hot Springs for a visit to the baths!

Overall you can't beat $10 (senior rate) for 50 amp and water with dump on the way out. Bathrooms only but they're heated which was a good thing because the weather just turned to high 30's overnight!
It's just a flat parking lot between planes, trains and automobiles. We were waiting for our reservation at a state park to open up so its not a bad place to wait.
Easy in, easy out.

We loved staying here. In fact, we were the campground when we stayed here during the week. Saw one other camper come in overnight but since we were secluded, it was hard to know if anyone else came in! The sites are great, large and lots of bushes and trees between each one. We stayed in #26 because of it's location to the lake, down a little path from the back of our campsite with a park bench overlooking the lake. It was virtually empty but we heard that it gets packed during the summer and there were a few reservations coming up this weekend and the park closes for the season the end of September.

You need to reserve the site either beforehand or once you get here via recreation.gov or phone. The price reflects the Golden Oldie Pass discount. The ranger was great as was the maintenance staff that were cleaning up for the season. Very quiet and peaceful. Don't know what it's like during the height of summer but it was awesome while we were there.

Bathrooms were beautiful, clean and well taken care of. Nice showers too!

I'd give it 5 stars but cell service (Verizon) is low at best. They do have a cell booster at the restroom that works for Verizon but not for AT&T.

We knew nothing about this place except what we saw on Campendium and since it’s not far from our old home we thought we would check it out. We spent almost a week here because it was very peaceful during the week - lots of birdsong! The weekend became a little more crowded with off road riders. No cell service for us but available if you drive back towards town. We were here the first week of June.
Since it’s a Forest Service campground we paid half price off the regular $8 price! Not a bad deal!!

We spent a couple of days here in November so the weather did not cooperate with our solar plans but we shared the place with friends and fired up the generator a few hours each day to get us by. Lots of trees so choosing the right spot for sun is key.
Beautiful location in a county run park, on a lake with paved areas, tables, grills and bathrooms. No hook ups but everything else. Fishermen showed up most mornings but the place was empty the rest of the time. Nice and quiet. The local police cruised by often, very friendly and inquired about our well being.
Good signal strength for both Verizon and AT&T. Local TV over the air. Would have stayed longer but we had plans to move on.
