So, after getting back tracked on my way to Oak Flat Campground it was getting late. I took the Ukiah route which the road is closed 11 miles from Lake Pillsbury. The puppies and I were getting pretty tired. We didn't want to try the 301 dirt road at night to Lake Pillsbury. We found this campground on the way and decided to spend the night. We thought we would try our luck in the morning for Oak Flat.
I was very impressed on how clean everything was. It was so nice even a cow decided to camp there for night. *smiles*
There was water at the site that I didn't even have to use my reserve in my trailer. The bathrooms were really clean. It was such a lovely way to end a horrible day of back road driving.

I drove by Middle Creek a few years ago, but did not camp. Since then I bought a trailer and drove up recently in my car just to check out the site. It is about 100 miles from my home near Santa Rosa, and I was looking for a spot a little closer to home to camp in my RV.
Single sites are $8 and doubles are $12. There is no cell service.
There are several small campsite "loops". Many sites are set up for car parking near tables and fire rings. Other sites have smallish turnouts for RVs.
There is a wide shallow creek right next to the campground.
Monday through Friday - you may have the campground to yourself. Saturday and Sunday - it is a motorcycle speedway.

We knew nothing about this place except what we saw on Campendium and since it’s not far from our old home we thought we would check it out. We spent almost a week here because it was very peaceful during the week - lots of birdsong! The weekend became a little more crowded with off road riders. No cell service for us but available if you drive back towards town. We were here the first week of June.
Since it’s a Forest Service campground we paid half price off the regular $8 price! Not a bad deal!!

I’ve camped here many times. Sometimes just to get away or some days just to ride my motorcycle. Either way it’s always great. Your neighbors are all motorcycle people so they are all nice. Yes during the day you will here dirtbikes but never heard anyone being obnoxious. Place is usually quiet after 4 pm. The sun setting over the hills is beautiful. Bunch of camp sites very rarely like never is the facility full. It’s only $8 a night so it’s not perfect. I tend to clean up my campsite from previous guest and help tidy area.
