Spent the night here with a reservation and had none of the problems that have been detailed. The park is older and probably looked great when there was rain. Now it looks like the rest of the New Mexico High Plains...dry and arid. But the owners try with local, native grasses, scrub trees, and rock decorations. Some of the native grass is not mowed, long it holds the soil better. I liked the look, it was attractive in a desert sort of way. A maintenance man lives on site and was buzzing about all day. They obviously work hard at looking good. The roads and sites are gravel with sand softening the footing in some places. Our site was long and level and utilities convenient.
Wi-Fi was good till the park filled, then very slow. Cable tv was grainy but watchable with many channels.
There are two bathroom buildings with showers, one block bldg in the center of the rv sites is clean and well maintained and certainly acceptable. But, walk up the hill to the office building, by the pool are bathrooms that are really big and sparkling clean and well lit. Newly painted, they are obviously well cared for. Kind of welcoming.
What is also cool is the restaurant. Place you order at the office, there is a big menu, and they will deliver it to your site. You can also eat in the restaurant but for a treat we ordered and had the meal delivered.
The park is well lit at night and safe and secure. It is a very comfortable night of rest off the road.

This is a practical, no nonsense, basic RV Park and very good at being exactly that. Dalhart is a very busy city at the intersection of six highways, this park is in town on US54 East. This is a big park with permanent, and long term transient, and a section set aside for travelers. Reservations would be a good idea. This is a clean and orderly park, very neat and tidy with employees always on the grounds.
Check in was quick and easy, office staff was very friendly. Our site was river gravel, long and level; we didn't unhook our tow. The sites in the overnight travelers section are closer than other sections of the park but certainly not tight. There is room for awnings and/or slides. There are no site amenities because for most this is not a destination. Wi-Fi was TengoInternet and worked well, sites also had cable we had over 50 clear channels.
The park is just off the highway and the railroad is across the street. There can be some noise, but the park fences and shrubbery subdue some of it.
The bathrooms are small and one person at a time, but they are clean and obviously tended to by the staff. Showers are part of each bathroom and also appeared to be clean and maintained.
Though all the rv parking areas are gravel there are some areas of green lawns including a dog walk. There is also a small kiddy park with grass and swings and places to sit away from the gravel footing.
The night we were here we watched the park fill and the manager did his best to get every person in somehow somewhere. He really cared and it showed.
This park is truly an effort to give everyone a safe and secure rest from the road in an orderly well lit park park. You do rest easy here.

This park is a work in progress, but they better hurry up! New owners have a lot to do. The idea of stabling your horse while parking your rv, seems like a good one. I think the facility had gotten away from the previous owner and now the new owners are playing catch up.
The biggest problem is percolating ground water. There is standing water and many sites and surrounding soils are saturated. In rural farming areas we'd call this ponding and it means that drain tiles need to be installed or replaced.
We just picked out a dry site. The manager had no problem with us walking about to pick out our spot.
This park just looks tired and worn out, not very appealing. Not really dirty, but just junky and unkempt. First impression is a bad one, and there doesn't seem to be a lot of effort to correct this.
Office was closed when we got there. Had to call a number on the door, and wait about 30mins. Owner was very nice. Office was rather nondescript, dark, and dingy. Once we registered he left again.
There is a pool that probably looks good in season, but now needs to be drained and covered. It is unsightly now.
The bathrooms are old KOA style, superficially clean and acceptable. The showers also looked clean, but water stains made the floor mats less attractive. There is also a small laundry. It all needs attention.
There are permanent residents here, but some of the trailers and their sites are a little un-nerving and should probably be gone.
This is not a bad park, we never thought of leaving, but it needs a lot of work to be brought up to par and we probably will not be back.

Eastern Colorado could be the new State of West Kansas, not much here,
also very few RV Parks. "The Wray Hitch'n Post" is almost alone on the whole length of US385 in Colorado.
This is a very pretty, well cared for RV park with flowers, and sprinkled lawns and owners puttering about all day making things neat and tidy. We called for a reservation and they saved a spot for us. It is a very small park with only 20 spaces. The long, full hook up, pull throughs are almost all occupied by permanents, a few spaces are kept for travelers. Call.
If you'll unhook your tow and do without sewer, there are very nice elec and water back-ins that would fit most average size rv's. Oddly these are the ones with trees and grass. The large pull through sites are all gravel and treeless. This park is a godsend on an empty road. It is small with few amenities but a safe and secure stop while traveling.
Bathrooms are clean. Showers had been "pay" under previous ownership, this is now disabled. I found the bathrooms and showers comfortable.
There is no cable, but antenna tv brings in about 30 channels from Denver area.
This park is under new ownership. The wife, Debbie, was literally a pleasure to meet. She told us all about their plans and was fun to talk to. She gave us a promotional pen and note paper with the park name and info. We've been full-timing for a long time no one has ever given us anything but a bill.
I hope their improvements include a new highway sign. The park is South of Wray on US385. If traveling Southbound you clear Wray before you come to the park on a hillcrest. The big highway sign for SB is almost completely weathered unreadable. Slow down and watch carefully. There is a better NB sign attached to a fence, but again the big lit highway sign would be the eye catcher if you could read it. There is highway noise and jake-brakes.

This park requires some clarification, as does the description above. This park is owned by the City of Gering, not as a part of their park system, but as a full service RV Park. You'll find more on their website:
http://www.gering.org/rvpark.html
What dream the above description came from, I don't know. There is no golf course here, no restaurant here, no cabins here, no swimming here, no fishing here. I'm sure all this and more exist in the Gering-Scotts Bluff area, but this is a very nice RV park and it excels at that. And that's all.

Because this park is owned by the City of Gering it is maintained very professionally by city employees. There are over 40 sites. The access roads are blacktop, the pads are long, level concrete. There are flowers and shrubbery, with lots of green lawns in attractive landscaping. Each site has a picnic table. The sites have plenty of space and green lawn between each.
They are arranged oddly. There are a lot of pull-in, back-out and quite a few double length pads with utilities on the same side. Bring extension cords and extra long hose to beat this.
This park is on high ground with beautiful views of hill formations East and Scotts Bluff West (behind). There are two host families to assist you in any need. The city of Gering is nearby for any shopping needs. We bike there.
This is a quiet and controlled park with much more space than sites.
There are a few permanents but they aren't overly messy, just obvious. And because it is city property the police patrol through the park frequently.
The bathrooms are clean and functional, rather more like camp bathrooms in design. They are useable and cleaned daily. The showers are clean and hot.
The laundry is small but inexpensive and also kept clean.
This park is a great stop! They could have easily put thirty more sites in here but didn't. Get reservations it fills up and though there is overflow it is not nearly as nice as the regular park settings.

This is a very nice rv park literally carved into a Wyoming hillside with a terraced design. It is very clean and neat and as attractive as you can be with plantings and flowers and decorative accessories in this arid red dirt.
The office check-in was easy and the office a very interesting visit. There is a lot of handy grocery and rv products offered in this store as well as odds 'n ends that are fun to look through.
The upper terrace is pull through, the lower mostly back in. The access roads are wide and easy driving. Electric and water are easy hook ups, but the sewer hook up is far back on the site near the road edge, not convenient.
The sites are not tight and include a picnic table. The park is very well maintained. The owners are active in up keep and we've seen them daily.
There is a small pool that is very attractive; fence enclosed with pool furniture around. There are plenty of places to walk though no formal walking trails.
The bathrooms are very clean, obviously checked on often. They are almost bright and shiny. Bright because there is a big dome skylight in the ceiling making the lighting better than the usual fixtures. The showers were clean and inviting, hot water didn't run out.
The laundry looked new and because it is next to the office with an open door there are not the damaged or misused machines you might find.
There are a lot of very attractive tenting sites with services.
Whether rv or tenting this is a safe and secure nights stop.

This is a very old Campground/Rv Park with the third generation of operators. Like an old chair this park is a little worn and threadbare, but very comfortable and relaxed. The wife takes care of the office and store, the husband gets everyone to their spots and keeps the park perking. The kids can be seen doing chores, but mostly playing on the grounds. This is a very nice family that we have enjoyed meeting and getting to know.
This is a big park about 90 sites both RV and tenting, as well as overflow on adjacent property. The sites are mostly back-in with only a few pull through.
There are both 30 & 50 amp, water and some sites with sewer. Tenting sites are with and without power and water. You choose the service you want. All sites have cable, very good cable with 60+ channels. Wi-Fi is also good.
This park is at the doorstep of North Dakota's Badlands. Everything is stone and rock and hard clay, and all very dry, soil is at a premium and so is grass. The grass here looks used, it is a little thin in places around the sites.
The grounds are clean and neat for the large number of users, but it is not a garden. The sites are close but wide enough for a picnic table and your awnings and/or slide-outs.
There is no grocery store in Merdora. The store here is very close to a mini-convenience store. It has a surprisingly large and current stock of basic groceries as well as a lot of RV accessories and supplies.
The bathrooms are adequate and basically clean. They could probably use a commercial deep cleaning and updating, but are very serviceable. I used the bathroom and shower and found them acceptable.
There is also a large laundry we used.
The park is not the destination, Medora and its activities and Teddy Roosevelt National Park are the attractions, this is the best jumping off place in town.
We look forward to returning.

This is a very small RV Park, directly off I94 at exit 77 to Minnesota 78. It is within 500' of the exit. The park has about 24 sites, 14 RV and 10 tenting.
Six of the RV sites have sewer, all have 30amp power and water.
The rv's are parked in alternating directions to share the same power pedestal, when the park fills, but first all the pull throughs are filled. Spacing can get tight if the park gets filled.
This is a small park with a very nice couple living on site that own and manage. They take pride in making this a clean and neat park. The pull throughs are long and level, we didn't unhook our tow. The alternating back-ins are more problematic. The utilities were convenient. The antenna brought in a lot of stations, wi-fi was good once we got it going.
The bathrooms and showers are not fancy, but very clean and bright, and the hot water is hot. There is no laundry.
There are beautiful expanses of green lawns and really great views of Pelican Lake, a large late about 1/2mi away. The park sits very high and has a commanding view of the countryside and lake, but, unfortunately, no access.
There is a small playground for kids, but few amenities. Mostly a good safe and easy off the interstate stay for the evening.
There is a dog fee of $2.00 per dog, per night. There are no specific dog facilities offered.

To start at the beginning the access road off I94 is a washboard nightmare, potholes would be better you could try to avoid them. We did 10mph tops!
The park is an old KOA but new owners of four years are bringing it back.
It is clean and well cared for, very simple and basic. Talked with owners in office, very nice folks with an eclectic assortment of crafty stuff for sale, but not a camp store. The sites are all easy in, easy out with full hookup and wide and level gravel pads. The grounds were carefully maintained and the owners are particular about where dogs can be. Not unreasonable, they don't want dogs in public or tenting or picnic areas. Instead they have mowed a huge dog walking field with criss-crossing paths that give the dog a long non- repetitive walk. Wi-Fi was good, but I expected more than 6 cable stations.
The bathrooms are literally sparkling clean, old KOA in style, but updated as best possible and very clean and bright. The laundry looked good but my wife got a dryer that didn't heat. Other machines ok.
I94 runs along side there will be some noise, but it wasn't bad. This is a good, safe campground for the night.

As an RV'er my wife and I can't speak for the hotel.
There is an RV Park that is part of this complex which I will review:
When approaching the hotel watch for signs directing RV's to the right and follow around behind the casino/hotel complex. This is a very nice 50 space RV park with blacktop streets and concrete pads. All pads are level and long at 50' plus. The sites are power only, 30/50amp. There is a dump station and water available. Each pad has grass, some shade, and a picnic table.
There is sort of a double check-in, but it is not difficult. There is a nice RV Park office. Go there to get a site assigned and a bill. Then go to the hotel registration desk to register at your site, pay, and get bathroom pass cards.
The bathrooms at the rv park are big and very clean. There is a laundry that looks very good too. All these facilities are cared for by hotel staff.
The grounds are very clean and neat, nice lawns and landscaping because it is all part of the hotel complex. It is well lit at night with lots of security...because it is a casino.
The casino is very big and glitzy with big rooms filled with the latest electronic gaming machines, the kind we used to call "slot machines", a lot of lights and bells. Also, of course, the usual gaming tables with dealers, also a big bingo hall, poker rooms, and even OTB. With all this there are still nice restaurants, a buffet, and even a mall-type food court, and a couple of big sports bars.
This is a very nice RV Park, a good safe stay for a night or two, very comfortable. The Casino? My wife and I have never seen anything like it.
Very cool!
