We made a reservation online(mistake). If I could give less than 1 star I would. We drove 10 to get there, and I called to say we would be there about 6:30. They said fine grab your map by the office. The problem started when we arrived. First the place is very poorly lit, I could see better with a match. When we found what we thought was our spot, along comes the golf cart ass hat. We asked him clarify the numbers, and he comes back with why are you asking that. My wife said we have a reservation and we want to make sure we had the right spot. Then golf cart ass hat says I don't like your attitude you can leave. At which point we both got attitude, and wanted our refund. Of course he refused. At that point my called the police, to which we found out they've had many problems with him before. So pretty much this place sucks. Don't waste your time. On a positive note, the police were nice and helpful. So now we are at hotel with out camper. Awesome
The guy was kind of rude when we showed up. We checked in after office hours and knocked (We called a few hours before to confirm that this was fine) and the man asked what time zone we were from "because our sign says we're closed". We tent camped, was pretty deserted late July 2014.
Chris was very rude when we cancelled our reservation because our plans have changed. Asked me if there was some kind of emergency. NO!! Plans change!!!!
Didnt even make a reservation. Called up and the guy hung up on me first and then told me he couldnt talk to me when I called back, Dont think I want to stay somewhere with a owner or even an employee like that.
Worst place to stay!! Depending on what kind of day you find the manager Chris in, he’s either drunk , stoned or in a terrible moody!! He always complained about something, has a bad attitude toward everyone. There was always something breaking in the park or getting plugged up and backed up. I’m surprised Good Sam and AAA allows him to use their name. They need to do a surprise visit and see the service he is giving., listen to him yell. Even heard he was a convicted felon. I wouldn’t trust him running a camp ground and carries a gun. Keep going down the road !
Avoid unless you have no other choice. Note: the campground itself isn't bad. The owner even converted one site into a fenced dog play area, which shows care for customer amenities. Price was great and location, convenient. However, within moments of arriving he also implied I was dangerous and/or stupid for wearing a mask (he did not at any point of my check in wear one) and yelled at me coming in when he was with another customer (I believe this was an attempt to adhere to COVID restrictions, but he had nothing posted and his tone was out of line.) A few minutes later he came out to help another customer and conversed with him loudly about how "certain people" just needed to be "f'ing killed." During check in, while relaying park and site information, he was rude and obnoxious. It could have been an attempt at sarcasm, but didn't feel like it. I tried calling other area parks but at that point in the day no one else had availability. Didn't feel like giving this guy my business but like I said, the park itself is fine. Does for a nightly stop.
Says tent camping on their website, yet when going to the location is then says no tent camping. Very disappointed. So had to pay the money for a hotel Instead.
We checked in after hours and left before the office opened. I don't think Chris was rude. I spoke with him on the phone. I think he is direct and to the point. If you follow his direction and don't need fluffed, he is fine. This park was fine for a quick stop. Not a park I would hang at for a few days. It served its purpose for us.
Do not use the address listed on Roadtrippers! It is wrong!! Use the address in google.
Apparently most of you are too soft scanned for Chris’s black humor and sarcasm. I thought he was funny. The campground is simple and kept immaculate by him. I would recommend it and I would stay there again unless of course you want somebody smiling and a Debbie do good.
