The park was clean and well kept. We did not use on-site amenities. The river view site had very little river view due to brush; not worth the extra five bucks. The site was medium sized with concrete pad that was slightly off level. Many of the sites, including the river view sites, are blind back-ins. There are some pull thru sites at the front. Access to I-10 was excellent. Verizon cell service was poor to miserable - 2 bars at best, one bar at night. We could not connect to the park wifi and it was turned off late at night. Do not stay during periods of heavy rain as this is a river bottom park; management stressed that if flooding occurred there would be no refund. We had a lot of rain and spent quite a bit of time watching the river rise. Noisy from I-10 and nearby ATV area.

We stayed for a week in the latter part of October, 2021. This is off-season and the traffic in is light to reasonable. I'm pretty sure the traffic is heavy June through mid-September.
This is a beautiful campground with great views and great location.

We arrived Sunday after 2:00 pm. The office was closed but paperwork and instructions were handy and clear. The campground called a day or two before to notify us of this procedure.

The sites are level, solid gravel with large grassy areas. The sites are huge and easily accessible back-ins. They appear to be well drained although it did not rain while we were here. Utilities are in good shape with FHU, cable and 50A. The laundry room has only two washers but a full laundromat is about 3 miles away. Grocery, dining, activities, fuel and stores are 3-5 miles. Walmart is 10 miles away in Kitty Hawk.

Activities on-site are limited. There is a small playground and no pool. There is plenty to do nearby. The location is amazing. It is close enough to town that errands are not a chore. Miles of National Seashores, state parks, open beaches, wildlife areas, fabulous scenery and a wealth of activities are just a short drive away. Several miles of paved, off-street biking/walking/running paths a about 1-1/2 miles away with public parking at the town office. I would not recommend riding to the path due to the narrow roads on the island.

We have recently taken up photography as a hobby. This is a target rich environment for photographers with a wealth of great photo locations. Lighthouses, seascapes, dunes, wildlife and people are all nearby.

We will definitely be back. Probably in late October and early November of next year. We will stay for a couple of weeks.

We had 2 to 4 bars of Verizon LTE, depending on the time of day. T-Mobile is 3 bars of 4G.

We have mixed feelings about this campground.

The sites were reasonably accessible although some, like ours, were a blind back-in. The space between rows was large enough that this was not too much of a problem. In gross area the sites were reasonably large, but most of that space is gravel vehicle parking, not campsite. The sites are very close together. There was a spot to park the RV adjacent to a postage stamp of grass that was shared with the neighbor's sewer hose. Most of the grassy area was taken up with a picnic table so there was no place to sit out except at the table. Our site (13) was at a low point in the park. All of the rain drained onto it. The ground was pretty saturated due to rains before we arrived and the back 1/3 of our site was under 1"-2" of water for a day and a half after the rain stopped. It stayed too wet to use while we were there.

The staff was friendly. We did not use the bath house, laundry or clubhouse. The sites were mowed and kept free of trash.

There is no noticeable road noise and we enjoyed the chirping of birds with morning coffee. The lake is accessible from the campground.

The location is very convenient to Hot Springs NP - about five miles. There are plenty of stores, restaurants and services within a few miles, also.

I was very irritated by the reservation process. The campground uses a booking company which charged a $32 "platform fee." Essentially I paid a 14% surcharge to book my site.

Most irritating were the directions to the campground for people traveling west on I-30 given on the website. They appear to have been written by someone who never drove a RV or did not care about people driving RV's. AR-171 & AR-290 are a narrow, winding roads through hill country. There are no shoulders whatsoever. The posted speed is 55 mph but there are numerous turns that must be taken at a lower speed. The traffic is in a hurry and will try to pass dangerously. It was a very unhappy drive. If you are coming on I-30 W take Exit 111 (US-70 W/Hot Springs.) Go about 18 miles and take Exit 6 (US-70 W/US-270 W/Glenwood/Mt. Ida.) Go about 7 miles to Exit 4 (AR-88/Higdon Ferry Rd.) At the end of the Exit 4 ramp turn left at the light onto AR-88/Higdon Ferry Rd. Go about 1.6 miles to AR-7/Central Ave and turn right at the light onto AR-7/Central Ave. Go 3.2 miles to AR-290 (AR-7 narrows to two lanes at this point but there is a left turn lane. Turn left onto AR-290 and go about 1/4 mile to Broadview Dr. on the left, just at the beginning of the right hand curve.. There are two roads together at this point. Broadview Dr. is the slight left turn, not the sharp left. Leisure Landing RV is a short distance down Broadview Dr. on the left.

We would stay again only if we could not find someplace else.

We originally planned to stay ten days, but a severe early cold snap drove us out. The campground is down in a valley and the low temperatures in the fall were about 4-6 degrees colder than forecast for the town of Abingdon.

The campground is beautiful and well maintained. The two couples that own the campground are very friendly and responsive. We enjoyed the stay very much.

The trickiest part is access. North Fork River Rd is off of US-19. Coming on US-19S from Hansonville the turn is a left across the median with no turn lane. The median is not wide enough to get the tail end of a large RV out of the left lane of US-19S. I could not see a safe way to make that turn. A better option is to continue about three miles on US-19S to Rich Valley Rd at a stop light. Just beyond the light make a right turn into Big John's service station and turn right onto Rich Valley Rd. You can then turn left onto US-19N. The access from that direction is somewhat better, but is still a rapid stop followed by a sharp turn. Do not even try to do the 35 mph limit on North Fork River Rd. It is narrow with sharp drops on either side of the pavement. Take it slow.

The location is wonderful. It is quiet and on the North Fork of the Holston River. It is just a few miles to Abingdon and the Virginia Creeper bike trail. I shot some nice pictures on the river.

The campground is very clean and well maintained. It is mostly seasonal campers who were very friendly. We did not use the bathrooms but I saw people cleaning them twice each day.

The sites are level and well maintained. The utilities were in good shape. The transient sites are a bit narrow, but they are sufficiently staggered that you are not next to the neighbor's sewer hose when you are at the picnic table.

There is no road noise, The campground is rural, beautiful and peaceful.

Cell service was not good. We have Visible phones which run over Verizon's network. We had one bar of service. Our hotspot is T-Mobile; it had no service. The campground has both 2.4G and 5G Wifi. That connection was excellent except on busy weekend days.

We would have happily stayed the entire 10 days we planned, but an unheard of cold snap was forecast to drop temperatures to the low to mid 20's. We left ahead of that.

We stayed here twice, for one night each time when traveling through. Sites are grassy and reasonably level. We had a pull through large enough to keep fiver hooked up overnight. We are 57’ long overall. We haven’t checked out ant facilities. It is located right on US-301 With easy access in and out. We had no trouble maneuvering on the roads. Many of the sites are seasonable or otherwise long term. We will likely overnight there again b

We were on the overnight part of a two-day run. The staff was friendly. We didn't use the facilities. The one-night stop sites are pull thru and re long but very narrow. The site was pea gravel. No grass. The campground was clean and well kept. Easy on and easy off I-10. Verizon was four bars LTE.

This is a beautiful park. We are in the Live Oaks section. I am not familiar with the conditions in the beach section.

Arrival and check-in were easy. The staff was friendly.

The sites are roomy with lots of trees between most sites. Our site (124) is an partial exception; one neighbor is a short distance away but offset so we have privacy and a nice view. The trees can present a problem getting into some sites with a large rig. We have a 37' fifth wheel and spend about 30 minutes backing into this site. We are not novices; we've been full time for over three years. Overhanging branches on both sides and trees, combined with a blind side back-in, made it very challenging. Most of the sites appear to be blind side back-ins. Most sites are level. Ours was a three block side-to-side difference. Front to rear was pretty level.

These are water and electric sites. We have 50A. There is a dump station across the state road. The bath house is clean and reasonably maintained. The area is very quiet.

We are both learning photography so this area is wonderful for us. There are beaches, woods, marshes, and beautiful sunrise/sunsets. I haven't yet tried the golf course in town.

We stayed for a week in May, 2021. Getting there was easy. It is about 5 miles from I-20 on US-61. The sites are huge - we had a front lawn that was about 60x20. There was no noticable road noise. Access was excellent. We are 57' overall and had no trouble getting into or out of the site. The site was gravel and pretty level side to side. The entire campground slopes toward the Mississippi River so drainage is good. The edges (back and sides) of the campground appear to be seasonal campers, but there are plenty of other sites. The utility hookups were in good condition.

The campground is very well maintained and clean. Staff members regularly cruise through the campground and pick up trash (including bagged household trash.) They also pick up and deliver propane tanks. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The laundry room was clean with a TV and comfortable seats. There were 4 washers and 4 dryers. The laundry cost was low -$1 for washers and $1.50 for 45 minutes on the dryers. NOTE: Don't put money in the dryers until after you start them - that sounds crazy but it is true.

The campground location is great. 10 minutes to Vicksburg NMP, five minutes to Walmart, 15 minutes to downtown Vicksburg, and 6 minutes to I-20.

We would definitely stay there again.

We were on a two-day run to the Virginia mountains from Lake Erie in NY. We contacted the park about a site in which we could stay hooked up. They told us that site 127 was perfect and 63 feet long. We are 56' bike rack to nose of truck so we said great.

Access from I-77 was easy and the roads were good.

The campground is on a pretty lake and close to the interstate.

There were pit toilets in our area. Wouldn't use them on a bet.

The big problem was the site. It was a blind back-in. The site itself was shaped like a flattened fish hook with a deep dip in the front quarter. It was impossible to back in with bike rack on. Since we were staying hooked up we drove in frontwards. The site dropped about 6 feet along the length. It would have been impossible to level up even if we were unhooked. We were not even close to level hooked up. The site next to us (126) was rented to a couple with a Momentum toy hauler. They had to park across the site to get into it.

Many of the smaller sites were more level. If we were in a small Class C, Class B or TT we could have found a level site. Big rigs avoid this campground.

The site is quiet with faint noise from I-77.

We had weak two bars of Verizon.

We stopped for the night enroute to catching the ferry from Ludington to Manitiwoc. The site was easy to get in and out. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The campground is on a beautiful lake with places to dock a boat. Others reported the fishing was good. The sites are large and well kept. The RV spaces are either grassy or solid ground. It is quiet. You can hear birds and wind, not cars and trucks. The sites are all well shaded.
