We were suppose to stay here for two days and only made it overnight and left first thing in the morning.
Room and hall smelled of sewage. Sheets and bedding were very very used and old, I don't normally get creeped by this sort of thing but these did. Noisy in general. I know other people had better stays so maybe just an off time
Closed to the public now, fenced off unable to stop and take pics with them
All other reviews so true, beautiful spot, hiked with my kiddos to eagle nest and then took a long way back loop and they loved it!
Highlight of our vacation, so much fun. Words of advise, get their early between 8-9 to get parking and a spot for your stuff. Pack a good lunch and water. Plan on walking out the f rec area to use facilities the pits available have not been felt with in a while and are not usable.
Very clean, friendly staff, rooms very spacious. Pool was heard as promised and are clean, just on the smaller side, if there were other kids staying there it would get crowded quick. Second floor rooms have amazing balcony and the rooms to get. Centrally located for access to surrounding activities and food.
this was a great long weekend. we are going back as soon as we can but because it is such an awesome park reservations are HARD, so have to plan 6 months in advance.
Beach is right there. We got a site that was on the side with no grass, but it was totally comfortable with space.
very quiet camp ground, could hear the ocean all night. Clean facilities, heated pool with lots of things for the kids to do.
can not recommend this enough, good luck on reservations!
We were recently on a 2 week rv trip and this was in fact our favorite stop in the 1800 miles we drove.
the elk seen in the photos are indeed there everyday, and even with 3 kids we never felt they were unsafe, so if that is a concern you can rest. please keep in mind that with these beautiful creatures comes their waste, so make sure to have a door mat since it is unavoidable stepping in little pellets of poop.
the property is actually pretty big. Since it was winter we stayed out in the field, which is right next to the 1, but it is remarkably quiet.
the most amazing part of this site is the fact you are surrounded by forest. and you can walk right into one, without any effort. you are also a short hike away from the beach, it is truly breathe taking.
We didn't stay in them, but they had some of the nicest tent site I have ever seen next to the lake on the top of their property. very private and surrounds by red woods.
just an amazing spot that I can't wait to visit again over and over.
beautiful campsite!
great for kids, lots of area to play, playgrounds, and paved roads for bike riding. the redwood that expanse the entire property are beautiful and really give it a unique feel.
about a 30 min drive to SF, over the golden gate.
we loved staying here and will go back again
We stayed her for a long weekend. We stayed in one of the deluxe RV spots with the cement patio and it was well worth it. There was plenty of room between spaces. the greatest gem to this place was all about the kids. So much to do and so many kids. it was perfect for us, since they were NEVER bored. The drive to the beach was less than 5 mins. Also the boardwalk is less than 15 mins drive. The pool area was clean and big enough that it never felt crowded.
Everyone was very nice and we can't wait to go back.
This turned out to be a great spot! we were a bit thrown off by the pictures vs the place as it seems a bit more spacious on the web, but once we got settled it was fine. We were in a back in site, and I would warn that if you have pop outs in your RV it is tight, the pull thru sites are set up much better for pop outs.
That said, we had a wonderful time for a long weekend.
the grounds and common areas are kept very clean. the pool was on the smaller side, but even with a packed park, it never got to crowded. the staff was very nice. the beach is very close with a nice easy walk right from their grounds.
we defiantly plan on going back for another stay
