The gravel in the lot is not hard packed, and might not be easy to get going if you stop. While it's somewhat flat, nothing is level except for the area just at the entrance.

That aside, the factory/plant nearby puts out a petroleum smell that was too much for us.

We didn't stay for both of the reasons above.

If it's wet, and rainy the ground will be muddy. While it is gravel, be prepared for mud and puddles. It is a no nonsense area... Just a row of back in spots with full hookups available. You pay at a pay box at another building, and according to the services you use (electric, water, sewer).

Cleanest bathrooms, and very well maintained grounds.

This seems to be a place for longtermers. With covid-19, California shut down all state and county campgrounds, so this was our option for the night. I can't complain about full hookups and a level concrete pad. There was little space between sites. Check in was via there window, and quick and easy. The whole campground did lose power overnight at some point, and came back on. I'm not sure if this happens often.

With covid-19, everything has been shut down in California, so it was a pleasant surprise to find this open, and spots available. We pulled in on a Friday afternoon, and several spots to choose from. All fairly level, so that's nice when not unhitching. Not much else to say, but it was a peaceful night aside from the highway noises.

The loop with full hookups is in a grassy area with trees skirting the loops. There are not showers or flush toilets in these loops, but if you have a self contained unit, then no need to worry. We enjoyed our stay. The state park has a lot of great hiking. The camp store is overpriced. Find wood outside the campground a few miles toward Rt 80.
