En route to Yellowstone... tons of flat open areas for big rigs. Other pull offs nearby. No amenities. Safe.

This was a perfect spot to overnight. Easy roads to get too, close to I-80 and relatively flat.
Was a little windy but heck we can deal with that....we were also great by some prong horns when we arrived.
Any size rig can fit here....
Cell service was good with Verizon 4G 2 to 3 bars

We wondered if we had missed it! You have to go a couple miles down Middle Baxter Road before seeing a large gravel spot off to the right. Lots of pea gravel. Some other piles of dirt. But there were 2 other campers there when we were. Not a bad site. Quiet. Stayed 1 night on our way down the road.

Could barely hear the factory nearby and the train within the factory. Decent views and for the first night lately the wind wasn't so bad

The gravel in the lot is not hard packed, and might not be easy to get going if you stop. While it's somewhat flat, nothing is level except for the area just at the entrance.
That aside, the factory/plant nearby puts out a petroleum smell that was too much for us.
We didn't stay for both of the reasons above.

Great little place for a quick stop - yes the refinery in the background but you really don’t notice it. Super quiet, we felt safe. Pea gravel parking lot with a small mound of dirt in the center. Free, and served it’s purpose for a nights rest. We would stay there again.

We got stuck in Rock Springs waiting on a truck part, so spent 3 days here. It can get pretty windy, so don't put your awning out. The edges of the giant pea gravel area are more solid than the center. We saw 4 pronghorn, but nothing else. I'd advise parking with your fridge to the north, as it's all day sun. It was really quiet. The plant has a constant hum and very bright lights. There's some traffic at shift change in the morning. There's a nice little park in town with trees. The history museum just had a lot of donated stuff in it. The self-guided walking tour you can get there was OK. The art museum was surprisingly good. The Dodge dealership let us have water but it was too noisy to camp in their lot. I don't think there is any potable water at the town dump station. I think the Green River municipal dump station has water. I prefer this over the KOA and the fairgrounds was having the Escapees event, so we couldn't go there. Cell service was mostly about two bars LTE on Verizon and T-Mobile, but would sometimes flake out. We don't have a booster.

Just a blank area good for a night of quiet sleep. No issue getting here and parking is easy for any rig or vehicle. Can get a little muddy when wet. Would avoid in the rain. May get stuck easily. In dry, any rig can park here easily. Easy directions just off CR-45.

This site is easy to get to and a great place to stay the night while traveling. The only drawback is it is right off a road that is moderately traveled (vehicle noise). But otherwise it was peaceful and quiet and this morning an antelope came and sat within 60 yards of our trailer!
