CLOSED TO CAMPING

needed a place to camp for a week to visit the family. this is about the closest I could get and it fits the bill. easy access but ZERO cell service. lotsa peacocks during the day and owls at night.

came here after Odessa didn't pan out. very pretty and tranquil!

there is a laundry room too

rough road in requiring high clearance. one picnic table and one fire ring at the one flat spot. no cell service.

first off be aware that the dump station has weird pipes at 45deg from vertical that dont work well with elbows and you will want a bayonet connector. according they are kind of a mess.

we were in the H loop which gets a lot of atv noise but also gets some sun whereas the other loops are quite darkly shaded.

the showers were OK but had annoying push buttons to turn them on for 30s at a time

A few miles off the highway. The braided access trails might be a challenge for low clearance vehicles and RVs.

8 numbered spot suitable for all sorts of rigs and tents. Sites closest to the vault toilets have marginal Verizon LTE service while the lower ones do not. Some sites have fire rings.

Noise at night from trains and low altitude military aircraft. Several fly overs during the day too.

pit toilets, fire rings, picnic tables. *maybe* 1 bar of phone service.

RV's may not like the climb up the mountain, but the gravel road is wide and well maintained. RV's can use the first loop to the right or the first back-in spot to the left. Not sure if there are any suitable RV spots past the second loop (no camping in the 2nd loop).

Observatory open to public Fri/Sat nights.

5700’ in dry southern Sierra along the PCT. 36 spots but few are vehicle friendly. Seasonal water spigot at spot 36. Picnic tables, fire rings, and vault toilets. No LTE. Way up from 395 or 178 has steep grades.

lotsa sites with power&water. county website is pretty fiddly but there is also an iron ranger. Josh and the other staff were helpful when an abandoned puppy showed up my second night.

just a parking lot with hookups. was very full in mid Feb with only two spots open. could not find code for bathrooms.
