We used to live in a sticks n bricks near here, and now use the Wood County Fairgrounds to camp and visit nearby friends and family.

50 amps, water, and two dump stations.

Sites are a little willy nilly but the staff is super friendly and helpful, and it’s $40/nite 10 min from I-75. The local county sheriff’s department uses the fairgrounds substation regularly, and the grounds are well lit, so I never felt at risk.

We were guided to park under the grandstands to get 50 amps. 20/30 amp hookups can be found all around the grounds. Some of the sites have water at the ready, some you’ll need to fill.

I have no complaints. Super friendly, pretty quiet, no trains, FLAT, and $40. There it is.

An unplanned layover headed east from Glacier NP took us as far as Helena before seeking a campsite. Via Campendium, this was one of two places we considered. I totally rolled the dice on White Earth, since the other place (I forgot the name) had a lot of negative feedback about trains, log trucks, Jake brakes, etc.

White Earth is FANTASTIC!! Absolutely silent at night, breeze over the water, dark sky. Couldn’t be more tickled!! Most sites are level, a few pull thrus (maybe 4), some newly planted saplings to improve shade for the future.

Only downfall is mosquitos. I’ve never experienced such aggressive mosquitos at dusk. But if you’re a quick mover, or in a self-contained camper, this is not a real concern.

Also, a 6 mile gravel road is well maintained and well graded and there are no low hanging branches or bridges. Finally BLISTERING FAST cell service!

This place is a gem 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Denny’s, dump station ($10), separate diesel for RVs from the truck lanes, all the conveiences of a big truck stop without the grimy experience that comes from the trucker side of most truck stops.

I didn’t expect it to be more than it is, and wasn’t NOT disappointed. Will mark it on my map for future trips :-)

We stayed here for a weekend during Ravenna BalloonAFair. Friendly staff and already planning to come back with children and grands. Interspersed with cabins a real treat. No complaints. Road noise subsided in the evening. Seasonals are well spread out .

On the positive: the location is outstanding for visiting a lot of Branson highlights without having to drive. Walking to nearby attractions or riding the free trolley service (9a-6p) which includes a convenient stop in the RV park.
Full hookups, and threaded sewer connections plus large trees farther away from the river (lake?) add to the ambiance.
Level concrete pads at every site that I saw are very nice, easy leveling.

On the negative: Linda in the office has a very pleasant disposition, but holds no ability to multitask. Whatsoever. Witnessed it firsthand. If you have anything out of the ordinary (a reservation date change, in our case) ask for someone else. It cost us two nights’ $$.

The outer perimeter road where our site was located is actually a thru road (if your vehicle fits in the single lane under a RR trestle at the other end) so there was more traffic than we’d like.

And a local train attraction motors by periodically. No whistles (praise the lord) but it’s still a train... worth considering in site choice.
Add a Linda, an extra $78 that I’d like to have back, and some loud exhaust cars and motorcycles... I think we’ll pass next time.

We arrived in the daytime to find happy children at the warm pool and pleasant people slowly meandering the campground in their golf carts.

We were assigned a site where the water and power were at the front of the site. We asked for something different since it was hot and we wanted to run our air.

The other sites we were offered had the same problem, though we did find a couple sites with power at the back, and only the water at the front…. but those weren’t offered to us.

If you’re camping in a bus or other motor home this is a GREAT place. Very quiet and welcoming. A lot of seasonals but everyone waved.

We stayed as a group for a long weekend and would gladly come back! The newest section F has concrete pads plus extra parking on new shower house a new picnic shelter and full hook ups including 50 amp. We pull a 42 foot fifth wheel and had no problems whatsoever. This is heads and shoulders above neighboring Charles Mill.

Ten miles from US 30 and so peaceful.

We opted for this park on a WHIM, after arriving at another park in That State Up North that lacked paved spots, lacked good grade, lacked enough gravel on the pads, lacked electric poles near the sites. It had waterfront spots but that’s it. Once we arrived after a rainy week and experienced all the mud, we said nope.

Harrison Lake State Park is as described, in the middle of corn and bean fields. Which is exactly what we like. Quiet! Plus they have a great fishing lake with water toys for rent, firewood and conveniences for sale in the camp office, two dump stations, potable water at dump station to fill up, 50/30/20 at every paved site, and almost every site is 50’ deep. Flush toilets located thru out the park plus a small laundry room for a longer stay or mishap.

We stayed for three nights in late June. There was a lot of rain, which did not drain quickly, leading to large standing water throughout the campground. We blew our 30 amp breaker, which made me nervous to put any more demand on it. Riverfront access to the peaceful flowing river was nice, with free kayaks canoes and a bench upon which to sit. Thoughtful touches throughout the park reveal a caring owner and staff.

The campground is a special place - one to not spoil. Try it out, you’ll see :-)

Come here with a big rig - call ahead for spaces. They have them but not every site qualifies.

The dump station is on the wrong side but they’ve crafted a nice workaround so it doesn’t suck. Happy to have it.

Big rigs - all rigs - need to make sure to square their entrance turn to line up for entry. The driveway is not wide.

A few riverfront mosquitoes at sunset should not disqualify this dandy of a campground. Riverfront quiet, only 15 sites with water and 20-30-50 electric, plus dump station and flush toilets at the immediately adjacent public park. Play pedestrian bridge across the river allows you to walk to and from dinner and a local bar in town. A local craftsman thought highly enough of the campground to craft several very custom fire rings. Plasma cutouts of pheasants and other shapes, plus a swivel grate atop the ring to cook upon. quite nice!

Meandering access thru a wide residential area was no concern, but could create doubts for a newbie.

Long level back in sites.
