There was a person in front of us when we arrived. I went in and paid and got the code. While I was doing that my husband saw the previous guy put his sewer hose over the water spigot that is also considered the "potable" water. I even asked inside if they had potable water and she said "yep, it's right out there by the dump" 🤢 It's a little crowded in the lot but doable. If you are expecting to fill with fresh, I'd find another spot.

Very nice campground. Check in was simple, we had a reservation. You can fill your water tank at the dump station near the entrance, we found a spigot near our site to fill up. Our site is close to the lake and I think they are spaced nicely. Doesn’t feel like you are on top of each other. There is a nice trail around the lake, just over 10 miles. Beautiful trees and fall colors.

A few miles of gravel to get to the campground. It’s a one way loop and big rig friendly. There is a dump station and water spigots in a few locations. I didn’t use the shower house but I peeked in and it’s clean and free. There is a host but we never talked to them. My husband rode the 8 miles of mountain bike trail and said it was nice. We are in the area for a wedding and Norfolk is less than 10 miles away. People are on the water fishing, kayaking, SUPing etc. Great Verizon service and our Starlink picked up right away when we put it in a clearing. Multiple people have walked through our site but that’s on them, not the campground. I don’t know why people think that’s ok.

We stayed at this lake for 2 nights last June (2020). I noticed there weren't any reviews so I decided to add one. This lake is in the middle of nowhere. No dump station or water. A NRD park permit is required, $15 annually. There are 11 sites with electrical and are first come first served. There is a trail all the way around the lake so that is nice for walking. The weekend we were there a group of campers who knew each other were there. It appeared they did this frequently together. They were up very late drinking and playing loud music. It made for a rough night. A storm came through and the next morning their chairs and beach stuff were all over the campground. We heard the fishing is great!

We are here now visiting family. Aurora is only about 4 miles off I-80 so very convenient for an overnight while passing through. We weren’t expecting water and WiFi. The dump station is convenient too. It is kind of tight in here but we have a 20ft RPod so not an issue for us. It is first come first serve. We will stay again I’m sure. The only thing missing is a fire pit.

August of 2020. We had reserved our site online, the office was closed. We went right to our spot and set up, very simple. We enjoyed the campground. We went to the look out tower, worth the hike up the stairs. Apparently this is a very popular spot for ATVs so that was a little annoying, we just aren't used to that noise. For the most part, they respected the quiet hours. We also went to nearby Thedford for some golf.

We’ve stayed here before and came back. My husband rides in multiple cycling events here during the year. It is tight, sites are close together but have never had an issue. I used the shower house, clean and good pressure. Site 11 is right near the creek. We’ll be back for the next ride in Sept. Spearfish is a cute little town and the scenery is amazing. We booked months in advance and check in was fast and simple. Verizon is 2-3 bars. They have WiFi but you have to be very near the office to use it.

Your typical state park dump station. It's outside the park/campground. Need park sticker to use. Has a supply for rinsing. Has a dumpster and a separate fresh water spigot. If you pull up far enough you can be filling you fresh while dumping. The pressure is better at this water spigot than inside the campground so it fills faster here.

We did not stay here, it’s currently closed for the winter. We have family in near by Aurora so we wanted to check it out. I didn’t think to take a pic of the sites but got the signs for info. The pads are concrete with fire rings and picnic tables. It’s fairly new so there are no shade trees at the sites and I feel like wind could be an issue. It’s very clean and not too far off I-80. There is power but I didn’t see water or dump. There is a “free” (donation) dump station at Streeter Park in Aurora. The park was closed so I can’t comment on noise.

We arrived in the dark so that made it hard to navigate the park but we found our spot! When we booked it we got the 2nd to last reservable spot and we know why it was left, it was right by the bath house and a park. There were lots of kids and pretty noisy but they respected quiet hours, it was quiet at night. The park is awesome! We hiked and visited a couple overlooks that were beautiful. The leaves were just starting to change. We’ll definitely be back!
