We stayed at Whispering Hills for 4 nights while attending a horse competition at Kentucky Horse Park, only 18 minutes away. Yes - it’s an RV park and it was completely full the Saturday night of our stay. So many amenities (that we didn’t use but would suit families) - pool, playground, laundry, lake for kids fishing, weekend fall festival with chili cook off, live bands, costume contest. Obviously, some sites are full timers. The staff go all out to make it a great experience. All the sites are super level and easy to get set up in. This was a first rate place to stay. We’ve been in RV parks that were just huge concrete pads that offered nothing. This was lovely and easy. Close to attractions and easy on to the highway. We noticed no highway noise.

We were only passing through Nashville for the night.
It was an extra $5 (!) to book online so I called and made the booking online. We got repeated urgent emails to check in for our upcoming visit. The sites are pull through which was nice. But they are narrow and there is no shade at all. We did use the water park and got a discounted ticket buying it at the General Store. There is no access to the lake from either the water park or the nearby shore. One upside is that Nashville is quite close. We got an Uber for less than $20 each way which was definitely the way to go. Downtown Nashville was a lot of fun. The bathrooms were not well kept and generally dirty - much less well kept than many places we have stayed on this trip for half the price. All in all, we would not stay here again. Expensive for little benefit.

Basic concrete pad sites. HOWEVER - so much to recommend. Easy on/easy off I - 70. Just miles from the Frenchtown Historic District and the Lews and Clark Boat House and Museum. Friendly staff and sparkling clean facilities. It’s a great stopover in the St. Louis area.

We spent one night here on our way from Texas to the East Coast and wanted something close to Crystal Bridges Art Museum. This RV park was perfect. The staff is so friendly! Both booking and checking in and were really helpful with suggestions about visiting Bentonville. The park is super clean. We were at site 62. Sites are very level with water, electric, sewer, picnic table and fire ring. Water is shared between two sites so make sure you have enough hose to reach around if the hose bibb is on the far side of your site. Lovely hike and bike trail with hiking trail heads for longer hikes. Crystal Bridges is 4.5 miles. Not fancy but we only stayed one night and didn’t need to pay for a pool, laundry, etc. We would definitely stay here again.

Yes, there is a trap shooting range nearby. We were in site 34 which is quite close to it. While we heard the shooting, it didn’t bother us at all and we joked that it added to Civil War feel of the place! The campground has electric, electric + water, and full service hookups. We paid $40 for electric plus water. There is a public dump on the way out. So many things to do with kids including a water park. 10 minutes drive from the National Park Battlefields. Bathrooms and showers were clean and fine. Great hiking in the area and retail close by - supermarket, Walmart, drug stores, etc. We have a small camper and thought access was just fine.

We loved our 3 day stay at Westwood. The sites are lovely and are a mix of shaded and open. Really green and pretty. Each site has a fire ring and picnic table set. The bathrooms and showers are clean and well maintained. Staff at the check in was very polite and helpful It’s a bonus that the camp check in sells ice - so convenient.

There is a 180 acre lake to fish and put small boats on. Hiking, biking and equestrian trails.

Newcastle is a quick 15 minutes away and has a Walmart, CVS, Walgreens and well stocked Kroger.

Really a gem of a park!

This campsite was quite nice for $20. It’s heavily wooded, so shady and quiet. We saw lots of deer. They don’t take reservations but on a Saturday night in July, there were only about 10 campers on 50 sites. Each site has electricity and water (connection is out on the edge of the road) is shared between several sites so easy to have a water hookup if your hose is long enough. The loop road is quite narrow and you need to be brave to make it with a big 5th wheel of class A. I’d say this park is more appropriate for small-mid sized campers. Sites 21 and 26 are pull through a. The rest are back in and with a narrow slot and road, you need pretty good backing up skills. With most of the park empty, take a drive around to pick your best spot. Don’t take the first one you see. The bathrooms are totally adequate although not fancy. It’s a city park. They have a dump on the way out of the campground. There is cell service on the front half, none on the back half. This park is lovely and a bargain for $20.
