It was a small rear area. Lots of parking for RVs and semis. We were able to pull along the edge of the lot and put out our bedroom slide. Very level. There’s a big lot beside the paved area for overflow. There was some litter, but we were parked at the back where the trash cans are, so that’s to be expected. There was a place for dogs to potty, but we just took them in the big field beside our RV. We didn’t go inside as we are self contained. There was road noise of course and semis. Not bad though. We slept well.

We really enjoyed our time here. We had been camping in the path of tropical storm Isasis and were fleeing to safer ground. The place goes on and on. There is a lovely pond for fishing, frisbee golf, places to walk through the grounds, a nice dog park and a nice little store. We stayed in a pull through site at the front of the campground, which was the least picturesque, but still very nice. We had 50amp and water. A honey wagon will come and pump you out for $20. That's a great deal. I could do my laundry in my rig, no laundry mat! I couldn't have done it in the laundry mat for $20. We needed a new shower head while there and found it in the little store there. It is a nice quiet park, friendly staff. The internet worked fine with our own WIFI and booster. My husband works full time from the RV and he had no problems. There are stores and restaurants not far away. We would stay here again. I would add that the dump station is tricky in a big rig. We are in a 38 foot class A. The dump station is on an awkward hill, and we had to block traffic because of the tight area. Not a deal breaker.

It’s obvious this TT location would rather be a housing development than an RV and camping location. The front B section is very nice although even being newer and concrete pads, still a challenge for long wheel-base rigs to get level with all wheels on the ground in many lots.

The rest of the camping spots are very hit and miss. Additionally, they don’t allow dog bone amp converters so if you have a 50 amp rig, you can’t stay in many of the lots. This coupled with the fact they allow 30 amp campers to take up the 50 amp lots, it’s very easy to not be able to find a usable space if you’re in a Class A or a long C without your wheels dangling in the air.

Sadly, this is becoming the norm at TT across the network.

This could be a TT showcase site if they’d improve the RV areas instead of paving streets and putting infrastructure in place for houses.

This park had fantastic people helping you. That’s where it stops. We are in a 38’ class A. We parked in one of two open 50 amp spots. The sites are literally butt to butt and very close side to side as well. The sites were rough and not level. Muddy and some gravel. There was no grass to potty our dogs. There was a fire pit full of pieces of plywood. There was another spot that was heaped full of ash and junk, from where the fire pit had been. We had seen reviews saying the AT&T was best in the C loop. We hoped that was true because it was intermittent and no upload at all. My husband works full time on the road and good internet is vital. We have the best signal booster we could find because we HAVE to have internet. We parked our rig, and immediately jumped in the Jeep to look at other sites, without 50 amp, in hopes of getting a better signal. As we started down the road, (we were 4 sites from the beginning of the loop), we ran across problems. We couldn’t possibly get our class A any further down these roads. They are rutted so badly, it was like off roading in our Jeep. There were very deep ruts running all the way across the road. All up and down the roads. We headed to Loop C hoping for good internet and better roads. The internet was worse! The roads were just as bad. We then realized that the hurricane coming up the coast was going to dump a bunch of rain here, which could cause the ruts to worsen and maybe even flood. We immediately got online, with our terrible internet and searched for a new place to stay. We hated to have to do this as we were staying here for free, and we were getting our moneys worth. So, Sunday morning, as we were heading out, someone was passing around a petition to send to TT to get the roads fixed. We didn’t see the basketball courts or bldgs. However the tennis courts were a wreck. We made a video of the roads before we left. We may download a bit of that if we can later. Anyway. Don’t come to this park. It’s a shame. The location is really nice. TT is letting this one fall apart.

The staff was wonderful. We had planned on staying at the park for a few days and then move on to Nomad View for some boondocking on the rim. However, temps were in the hundreds and we decided some electricity would be invaluable. They were very accommodating, as we stayed an extra 10 days. They had to move us a couple of times to fit into the reservations that were already made for spots we were in. No big deal, as we were on “no sewer” sites and had to close up to dump anyway. The sites are nice and long. A good space between rigs. Fire rings and good picnic tables. There are fantastic clean, private shower/bathrooms. Use the ones in the metal bldgs. They are the new ones. The sunrises and sunsets were awesome. They make hot breakfasts in the office/cafe. Nice walking trail and beautiful view of the badlands. Couldn’t be any handier to Badlands National Park and the Minutemen. Prices were reasonable as well. There was a bar/grill in town that had good bar style food. This park isn’t fancy, but it couldn’t be in a better spot. If you are in an RV and have family that wants to join, they have a bunch of hotel rooms as well. We didn’t see the inside of them. They were always busy though.

This was a nice campground. The sites are terraced, but level. We were in a pull through, 50 amp, full hookups. There was a nicely painted picnic table and fire ring. The place was immaculately kept. The fella was mowing and weed eating all the time. There was a nice pool that was open while we were there and a playground. The roads are gravel and well graded. They are super strict on cursing, drinking and loud music. Which we appreciated. It’s a pretty transient park, as it has good access to I-70. Good restaurants and shopping minutes away. We found a butcher shop, Rittenberger Meats, that was awesome. There’s an ice cream shop, Tom’s Ice Cream Bowl, it’s been there since 57 and has been in magazines. It’s a tiny little spot with fantastic ice cream, huge portions. We found it because we have local friends. Try it. The only downside is the road in. Right at the entrance there’s a blind curve and a hill, quickly meeting the road. The problem is when you are in a Class A, pulling a Jeep, and you meet a huge 5th Wheel coming down that hill, and you meet on the blind curve. Big gullies on the roadside. That was a breath taking few moments. Just be careful.

We stayed here, as we are Thousand Trails and this Encore park is part of our membership. Pros..close to the water and beaches, close to family in the area, nice pool and water slide, easy in and out of park. Cons…This is an Encore park that gives TT members poor sites. Our site was so close to the rv beside us that when he came out to dump tanks, he was right behind our lawn chairs. Disgusting. We were there in July and the electrical system couldn’t handle the number of campers. Ours kept blowing the breaker. The electrician came and changed out the breaker, but said it wouldn’t help. He was an outside contractor. He said the park was not able to handle the electric needs of the campground. It’s old and insufficient. It was well into the high 90’s and no electricity. They weren’t going to let us run our generator. They came and checked out ours and gave us “permission” to run ours. Otherwise, we had NO electricity. Food goes bad and my husbands 83 yr old parents suffer in the heat, as they were with us to meet their great great grand baby. There was barely room to sit our chairs around, between the Jeep and the picnic table. There was no room to park in front of your RVs. Also, only one vehicle per spot. As if you could park more. So, when the kids came to visit, it was a mess finding parking. It may be free for us but not worth the price. I gave it 3 stars, but really wanted to do 2. It does have some nice things and the access to the bay is nice. Sometime other than summer could be better.

I wrote this once and lost it, so here’s the short and sweet version. Nice park, level sites, gravel sites and roads. Good food nearby. Nice pool, tennis courts and rec room. Big patio with tables and gazebo overlooking the Columbia River. Amazing views, walking path down to the river. Paved path to walk along the river. Downsides…ALL the sites with a fantastic view of the river are taken by annuals, with the exception of a few nice big tent sites. Getting packages is weird and doesn’t work well for full time RVers. They will refuse packages that aren’t meds or that look like The site we were in had the only access road for the area, which is a recreation area and big resort. It was a bit noisy. RV parts. Not a downer, but the road coming down to the park is windy and probably a 5% grade with some serious drop offs. It’s a good paved road though. 60 mbs down and 27 up and 3 bars cellular AT&T.

This was a really pretty park. Close to restaurants, Walmart, Lowe’s etc. The sites were for the most part, really roomy. They even had buddy sites for 2 or 3 and group sites. They have 50 amp sites, very well marked. The laundry room was clean and had a great ceiling fan, which I appreciated. The bathrooms were older, but very clean. The lots are a mix of first come first serve and reserved. The ones at the beginning of the loops were really pretty, but a lot were not level, especially for a big rig. There were many further in that were very level and had nice pads with pea gravel and a place set up for a tent or canopy. Nice trees and grassy areas. The store was closed due to Covid. The dump and fresh water fill area was huge and easy access for anyone. The check in time was 4. We arrived at 2 and she didn’t hesitate to let us go in and start looking for a site. Don’t get worried about not getting a site and grab the first one. It’s a really big area and the better sites are further in. We were in site 87 and it was really flat and not too sunny. The internet bandwidth was good on AT&T.

We came here to visit family. It was a great choice. It's 5 miles from Emerald Isle, 11 miles to the Wal-Mart in Swansboro. This was a nice treed campground, lots of grassy areas, paved, walkable roads. There is a wildlife area with a boat ramp and dock, trails and picnic tables, just past the campground. Easy walk from the campground. The bathhouse was clean and easy access to all the campers. Our internet service was excellent and our site was nice and large. There was electric only, but there were water spigots within a short distance of all the campsites. The dump site was good, however there is no water to rinse out your stinky slinky. The potable water is a bit forward of the dump and the hose is in rough shape. We cleaned it well before use, we were betting people would use that one to clean things up. That was truly the only downside. Quiet campground, good hosts. 14 day limit. We did have a lot of big black carpenter ants. Bring some ant killer. It's a little difficult on some gps to locate the exact address. Just follow the signs on VFW Road and turn in at the Croatan National Forest sign. There are campground signs as well, but the National Forest signs are easier to spot.
