This place is quiet, peaceful, well kept and in a beautiful location. The roads and facilities were well maintained by a friendly forestry service. The only 3 sites are fairly level and easy to access. The creek is large and beautiful with good fishing. There's a boat ramp and dock, vault toilets, hiking trail, pavilion and grills. Pretty nice amenities for boondocking.

What a great place to stay. I fought the winter storms in TX, snow/icy covered roads to get here and it was worth it. A nice size area to camp, some sites in the middle have concrete pads with gazebos, picnic tables and grill. Quiet with minor noise from nearby road. Flat solid ground. Good cell signal. Close to the caverns and a great park called Rattlesnake Springs Picnic Area; natural springs that provide the area with water.
Only 3-4 other rigs here while I stayed.

I did check with the manager who said they're not supposed to let RVs stay the night but it was ok. They said except for some homeless people in the area, it was safe. Better than WalMart which had signs posted 'absolutely no overnight parking'. I parked on the side of the Superstore building in the far back next to the grass. Quiet night, not much traffic noise. Picked up their wifi signal which was decent. What a great massive grocery store! Access was easy off of BC-97S. I would recommend this place as an overnight.

Visited 5/24-5/28. Was beautiful and quiet until we got near the weekend, then it filled up and got noisy with off road vehicles. Roads in were ok, typical dirt washboard bumpy roads. Not much nearby; Lake George with limited groceries and propane.

This is a great place to stay for the lake views and large space for any rig with easy access. Only 2 other rigs here. Close to Provo with scenic drive around the lake. The downside is the mayflies; there are a million of them and they like to hang out all over your rig and everything. Open your door and they come swarming in by the bucket load. I know they're harmless but what a mess to kill & clean up. Maybe at a different time of year it would be not so bad. Cell service was ok. Nearby Saratoga Springs has everything you need. The Smiths supermarket is awesome! Lake is very low and saw only a couple shallow bottom skiffs unload. Grounds do have some broken glass and a lot of shotgun shells, how unfortunate.

Easy to find off exit 23, gravel/dirt roads are good. First site off to left is large. The next sites are grassy roads off to the side but up on hills with great views. Close to the NP entrance and the town of Medora. 2-3 bars Verizon. Quiet and beautiful night sky.

the site is out in the deep woods, so very quiet and serene. to get there you should have a 4 wheel drive vehicle(I did not and almost got stuck twice). there are a few water crossings, some muddy roads and generally water all around. the creek is not that picturesque altho close. there is no signal at all, none! had to drive towards civilization to find a bar(internet). the one and only site has roots and fairly unlevel. there was a little road noise from 65. there are too many other places to go to have to settle for this place.

As previous reviews have said, this place is a great stopover. The price is right for full hookups, the internet is strong, the host very friendly, partial shade and cool grass, quiet, all good!

What a great place to park on the beach and chill. Getting there was easy and scenic driving past Crystal Beach and all the colorful stilt homes. Did check out Crystal Beach and it's not as nice a beach and a little busier with people and rigs. Bolivar Flats seems to be one long beach; cant tell the difference is between the permit portion and free area. Maybe it's which direction you turn onto the beach. The beach is definitely hard pack, no issues driving a rig on it. Not many rigs here, it's quiet and private with the occasional vehicle driving past. Saw a few families and fisherman making a day of it.
Did buy a $5 beach permit which was unnecessary; didn't see any patrols.
The Mexican restaurant G's is worth going to. The Big Store connected to Ace is the place to go shopping and get gas. They also serve prepared food(the pizza is good) and groceries, beach stuff, pretty much everything.
The ferry to Galveston is only about 4 miles west, is free and runs all day. Check out the lighthouse and Fort Travis..
NOTE; the salt air, nightly dense fog, wind and sand can be very corrosive to any metal.

Easy to get to if going off exit 6 as other reviews stated. Coming in from the south, the route takes you thru a particularly bad segment of roadway. Stay to the left when entering, on the gravel road, and find a spot from there. It's all sandy but lots of spots for any size rig interspersed throughout the trees which gives a sense of privacy. Nights were quiet and dark. While there, the winds were gusting at 50mph and it looked like the sahara in a sandstorm. Winds aside, the location is only 20 minutes outside the city. May have stayed longer if it werent for the wind, sand and cold.
