Nice park, grassy sites, we had full hook upland a shade tree (site#1). Strict mask use here by management which was fine by us. Friendly and helpful.
We asked about the lack of on road signage and we were told that the owners were retiring and the park would close permanently Oct. 2020.🙁

Nice KOA out in the middle of nowhere. Good amount of locals and overnighters. Clean facilities, friendly staff. Close to fwy but minimal noise.

I was fortunate to find this Journey KOA on a east to west coast trip a few years back. First time as a tenter and the last two in travel trailers. Set above Las Cruces with some sites facing the Organ Mountains. The park is exceptionally clean and well maintained. They rake each site post occupation and insure the site is immaculate. The staff was friendly and attentive, clear explanation of the park status, features and rules. We had a pull thru site the was long enough to not unhook our TV as requested. The sites are not a full pad but concrete runners for the tires. our site was perfectly level. If you have a chance go to Mesilla to check out the beautiful town square and eat some excellent Mexican food at La Posta de Mesilla. Oh and they have upgraded the wifi here and they even say to stream all you want. I had no problem streaming with our Fire Stick and computer.

We had site 6 which is one of two pull thrus at the top of the hill overlooking a large grass area and the otherside of the park. Fairly level gravel site with a few trees doorside. Nicely spaced sites so as others are not on top of one another. Morning trash pick up and if you need propane they will pick up and return your tank. We were greeted warmly and we quickly got to our site. Staff works hard to provide a clean well kept park. The only issue while we were there was a broken water line which took out the system when we were in the process of leaving. As we left the maintenance crew was working to make the repair which was underground.
A very nice park, we will definitely return when visiting family in Milledgeville.

Good layover spot, trucks are separate from RV's. The place is clean with wide rv parking spots and should be well lit judging by the lighting. Unlike some rest stops this one you can easily circle around if you missed an open spot.. The trucks are on the north side of I-10 and the Cars and RV's are on the south side and with that said yes you do get the noise from the I-I0. Won't be a problem for us but maybe for others ear plugs may be needed. We will use this spot again on future trips.

This is our second COE to visit and if the rest are like the last two we're all in. Like the first one we visited (Cotton Hill) very well maintained grounds, excellent staff and beautiful large sites. This COE had water and electric with a clean dump station.
We even found 3 mulberry trees and made a delicious tart.
We will definitely be back to Eastbank since it is so close to home.

This is our second time at Roosevelt State Park. We loved it so much the first time we booked it again same time in Nov. When the foliage is turning. Just beautiful, site 117 is a back in close to the lake. We did go and enjoy the hiking trail that goes around the campground, spent the day at Callaway Gardens and that evening saw the Christmas lights. One nights dinner was at Hunters Pub...a must do for those meat eaters. We booked for next year but did not get our past site 117 but did luck out with a FHU site.

The current WEB page for Balmorhea State Park 1/27/2021 states that the park is undergoing renovations and as of now there is no reopening date.
