We opted for dispersed camping outside of the campground. We arrived in our 34ft travel trailer at about midnight on a Tuesday/Wednesday and had no problem finding a spot to park for the night. There was a van and a truck also camped in the area but there’s plenty of room to find your own private space. When we left at 11 the next day, the area was mostly empty. Zero people in the campground portion. We were surprised at how pretty and peaceful the area was. We weren’t working so we don’t know much about internet speeds. Our Verizon phones were fine for social media and texting. I expect there are plenty of spots with ok data. Starlink and solar have lots of options here.

Direct access to the beach which is nicely maintained. We watched dolphins, whales and surfers from our windows. Campsites are tight which is to be expected. Full hook ups. Overall, a great place. We will be anxious to return someday.

Would recommend site 24. Looked like the best site in the campground. It was quiet. Checked in after hours and the process was very smooth. Internet speeds were decent. ATT was about 35-40 down and 4 up. Verizon was 35-40 with 1 up.

Just wanted to provide another perspective from a recent review.

We travel in our 34ft travel trailer. We found this to be a nice boondocking spot. The road in is nicely maintained. While I was definitely glad to be aware of ATV traffic from other reviews, I didn’t find it to be all that bad. It is a near silent place during the week with maybe a handful of other rigs in the area. It is definitely a busy ATV destination on the weekends but they are just driving past to a nearby off road trail. That said, we just went and did other activities on the weekend afternoons. I would advise to find a spot past the trailhead/atv staging area. The area does show signs of high traffic on the weekends as there is some litter in the area. Connectivity was good though will depend on how far in you drive. Video calls might have been difficult on AT&T but Verizon had speeds in the 50down, 3up range. Most sites are partially shaded though there were a couple spots with full sun for solar/starlink.

This is a great boondocking spot with options for easy access and more secluded tucked away options. They gps coordinates for the boondocking by Murdoch campground takes you to an area with a few sites back behind the campground (a bit harder to access) In reality, there are a handful of nice sites across the road from the dump station and then some really nice sites further down the road that Murdoch Campground and Caribou Campground are on. Of note, as of Memorial Day the dump station still did not have the water turned on.

We stayed for 11 nights in site 22. Staff is very friendly. The park is very clean and well groomed. Sites were level and fairly sized. After hours arrival was an easy process. I had a package delivered to the camp office. Everything was a great experience. Verizon was about 4-8down. ATT was in the 20-30range down. This was a great stay.

Free camping. The main portion of the campground had options for shaded/unshaded campsites. We arrived around 5pm on a Sunday and there were a couple of sites available. Things were a bit close together and muddy with the rains, so we continued up the road as described in other posts. There is one nice site that is unfortunately occupied by an abandoned trailer. We continued to the turn around just before the ranch cattle guard. We opted to stay there for the 4 nights we needed until the forest service roads outside of Ketchum opened up. The views there were stunning and it was much quieter than the main campground. Starlink was good. ATT and Verizon speeds were good - enough for streaming and zoom calls.

Just wanted to update reviews since it’s been a bit. This was a perfectly fine place to stay. We were only there for one night but it was quiet. The road with the switchback up to the boondocking area is a two lane gravel road- wide and in good condition. Boondocking spots start when the switchback ends (before coordinates) and go on further back. Plenty of quick pull offs from the road. There are also dirt roads going further back that are rutted but passable- just scout it out first. ATT was fine for streaming. Verizon was a bit slow. Good place for solar and starlink.

Beautiful area. We were just passing through and thought we would update the reviews. The road is dry and accessible. Verizon was 6.5down and 6 up

This boondocking area has a lot of options. We had great views and a lot of privacy. It was quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately, we need strong cell service for internet and couldn’t get enough to work so we had to move on early. Download speeds for Verizon fluctuated from less than 1 to about 3 or 4. ATT was essentially nonfunctional.
