Confirmed by 1 users | Last reported on May 12, 2023Located next to Hwy. 20, a bit of road noise. However, in a pinch, it's great. Level spaces in old gravel pit next to Wood River. Our rig is a total of 55 ft. and no problem parking.
AT&T cell works. No hookups what so ever.
Compost toilets if required.
The campsite is property of the State Parks and Wildlife.
For the price and location it is a great bargain at $0.00.

Another hot day and another attempt to escape the heat on hwy 20. This gem is right of the highway. Dirt roads are almost perfect. Sites closest to the hwy were 70% full. We drove past them up to a bluff overlooking the river! All by ourselves! Can barely hear the traffic over the river. Very dusty, the kids need to be hosed off.

This camp ground is right off the main road. They’re a few sites with fire rings, but most of the space is a park where you want vibe. Clean pit toilets. 1 to 2 bars of Verizon. Was able to surf the web alright. Slight traffic noise from the main road but you can drive far enough back to escape the noise. We had a peaceful one night stay and would definitely come back for a nights stay.

the best part of this park is the fairly new clean pit toilets. The park had not been mowed at all for long time, so you had to do a guess where to park anything. I found an old fire ring, and backed into that area not even sure if it was a spot or not. Looks like a lot of seasonal construction workers campers spending nights there.

We were so relieved to find this campground as every other spot we had planned was still closed. The main area of this campground would have been fine but not anywhere we would want to stay more than a night or two. We opted to go through the campground to the right and take the dirt road probably a mile or two back. There was one small turnout on the right with a camper that looked as though it might have been there a while. We continued down the road until reaching a cattle guard with a private ranch/no trespassing sign. To the left of the gate is a large turnaround. It was ideal for our 35’ 5th wheel. And the views were perfect. A few times a day workers from the ranch would pass but no one ever bothered us. At night, the coyotes were louder than we’ve ever heard. I definitely would not leave dogs outside without supervision.

Campground is just off the road so there is some traffic noise. But it is not a major commercial route so sound is ok. Sites are not well defined but you will figure it out. Sites are flat, we didn’t need to level. Pit toilets were clean. Not a destination site in my view but a good place for an overnight stay if you are headed up to Sun valley area or north to the Sawtooth mountains . No fees! Easy access would not bring in a big rig but there were some trailers in the site.

Free camping. The main portion of the campground had options for shaded/unshaded campsites. We arrived around 5pm on a Sunday and there were a couple of sites available. Things were a bit close together and muddy with the rains, so we continued up the road as described in other posts. There is one nice site that is unfortunately occupied by an abandoned trailer. We continued to the turn around just before the ranch cattle guard. We opted to stay there for the 4 nights we needed until the forest service roads outside of Ketchum opened up. The views there were stunning and it was much quieter than the main campground. Starlink was good. ATT and Verizon speeds were good - enough for streaming and zoom calls.

This is a cute little park, right off Idaho 20. There were five rigs already there when I pulled in and I had had a long day, so I was a little disappointed. However, I discovered a road that goes up through the campground and up the hill behind it, and I found a pull off that I could pull in and park right along the cliff edge of the river. I am a little more adventurous some when it comes to where I take my motorhome, and the area was muddy from a really big rain. But I found a perfect spot for the night. I would definitely use this place again.
