Great park with large concrete level sites. Plenty of grass areas for the dogs. Would have loved some shade but since it’s newer the tress haven’t had time to mature yet. The little downtown Ashland was within walking distance with cute brick lined streets, shops and restaurants.
The park was super clean and quiet.
The laundry room was really small with only one washer and one dryer but was very clean. The camp hosts were friendly. We didn’t use the bathrooms or showers.
There are no sewer hook ups here but it wasn’t a huge deal. We drove into Omaha and Lincoln to explore a few times. We would definitely stay again if ever in the area.

We have stayed here twice. We love the easy pull through, wide sites, the lake and the dog parks. The campground and laundry room were extremely clean and well kept. We enjoyed the glass table and chairs provided at our site. It was much nicer than a typical picnic table.
We weren’t able to use the pool because it was closed.
It is right off I95 but we weren’t bothered by the road noise. We actually slept with our bedroom windows open a couple of nights and it was just a low hum in the background.
We would stay here again if we were in the area.

We stayed here for two weeks while we were waiting for our daughter who is in the Marines to finish her military occupational training at Fort Lee. The sites are unlevel, rough and close. There are mostly full time residents and their sites were very trashy and unkept. Apparently there aren’t any rules.
They let outsiders (non campers) “pay” to use their pool. Paying campers and non campers are all supposed to check in and get wristbands before going to the pool but we rarely saw anyone with wristbands.
This campground overall needs some work. Not worth the price.
The lake was nice to walk the dogs around. We could see the racetrack but weren’t bothered by any noise.

Great family run campground. No frills but that’s what we look for. Quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of nearby attractions but close to Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg and Knoxville.
The property is rustic but well taken care of and extremely clean. We loved looking at the silos and cows and even a donkey.
Our site was on grass very level with full hookups.
One of our favorites so far and we would camp here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. It was so quiet during the week. We were almost completely alone M-Th and then it would start to fill up on Friday afternoon. Even when full, it was mostly quiet. The sites are fairly spaced apart with plenty of trees. Our site was mostly level, some more than others but that’s expected with a park.
Plenty of trash cans and the park was very clean.
If you get lucky you may get a spot on the lake which would be beautiful.

The website directions can be a little confusing. Just make sure you enter Poplar Point Campground from Beaver Creek Road and you’ll be fine.

Overall a nice clean rv park. A little pricey for basically a parking lot with small strips of grass in between the spots. Mostly level and everything worked. No shade. Close to St Charles which was adorable. We enjoyed lunch and shopping there. We also enjoyed exploring St. Louis. The laundry room is clean with plenty of machines. It was a little weird to drive through a residential neighborhood coming in and out but it was really quiet and safe.

We really enjoyed our time here. We had an end spot on a side road with lots of grassy areas for our dogs and we saw bunnies every day. It was a short walk to the beautiful pier and sound. Many permanent people but all were very friendly. We really enjoyed exploring the nearby areas of Emerald Isle, Fort Macon, historic Beaufort and Swansboro. We would definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

Overall a nice well spaced out campground. The hosts were friendly and kept the park clean. The spots are mostly level gravel. We drove into Kansas City a few times which is about 40 minutes away. Next to a large lake with fishing allowed. We would have spent more time outside if it wasn’t so hot and if there wasn’t so many bugs.
The laundry room is small and hot but clean.
We would choose a different site with shade next time.

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay here. We live and travel full time in our motor home and we loved the peace and quiet atmosphere of this campground. Steve is super friendly and greeted us upon arrival and showed us to our site. Our site was fairly level and very spacious with a gravel sitting area with Adirondack chairs, a fire ring and picnic table. There are plenty of areas to walk our dogs and the laundry room was clean and had plenty of machines. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.

We enjoyed our week here (7/1-7/8). The ladies in the office are friendly and welcoming. The campground is very clean. They had a few activities planned for the 4th of July weekend such as bingo and a decorated golf cart/bike/pet parade through the park. We were not too far of a drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor which is why we chose this campground. They are one of the least expensive in the area. We only had a water and electric site because that’s all they had available for the week. Our water pressure was low but manageable. We would definitely stay here again if we are ever in the area.
