Lake view through the trees. Sites were easy to back into. Level. Sites close together. Central location between Charleston and Columbia. Close to Congaree National Park. Great mountain bike trail our bikes are more street bikes but ride was great. Amazing sunrise and sunsets. Baths need updating. Camp hosts were nice. Cell service ok.

Our site is huge, far from neighbors. It is in a first come area. We had reserved 3 days for later in week but website said lots of “W” available so we came to see what we could get! The office suggested we check out the no reservation sites and they thought 59 had a great view which it did. No services. Dump station 1/2 mile down the road. Initially thought no cell service but caught a bar of LTE on Verizon and decided to power up the WeBoost and Voila!! We have Verizon and AT&T 2 bars. Must remember to send Technomadia a thank you note! Our spot is overlooking the lake. Perfect spot to explore South Dakota.

Lovely site level Water/electric on the point no shade so probably too hot in summer but in October the temps are 70’s and only occasional jet skis on lake. I will come back here in the fall. Check in was not contact free but had the checkin person stayed in her shielded area and not opened the door it would have been.
The view is spectacular! Pretty quiet campground exceptionally clean and neat.

Arrived in TRNP to find Cottonwood full. We backtracked to Exit 18 to check out Buffalo Gap. Great sites on the loop we occupied. Level pad, lots of room between sites. We choose a site without a lot of tree cover as we have solar. Decided to stay the entire time here and not try to squeeze into a site at Cottonwood.
Site 11 had 2 bars Verizon. Camp host told us this was the only site with cell service. Lucky us. Water line broke 2nd day we were there and was fixed then went out again. There is a dump station at Buffalo Gap which was also out of rinse water. So pluses are location, site, water if not broken and on-site dump station. Also, if water problem fixed there is showers and flush toilets. It is a lovely place and we will stay there next time we come to TRNP. It never filled up the week we were there. We never noticed noise from the highway.

Stayed in Palmetto Ridge section. It is brand new, full hook ups. Big big sites. FYI sewer connections elevated relative to ground level resulting in minimal slope for low trailers, we were in an Airstream, probably not an issue with SOB. Two older sections, seemed like nice for tents and smaller rigs. Lots of locals in park over weekend. We road bikes all over park and opted for dirt roads to avoid the traffic on the two lane road. Lots of wildlife, alligators were abundant as were dear and herons. Rest rooms, new facilities, clean with washer and dryer. Rangers were knowledgeable. Love bugs were out. Occasionally in abundance.

Nice wooded location. Sites are pretty level. Full hook ups. We had pull through #83. Plenty wide for our Airstream awnings and accoutrements. Really quiet campground. Lovely lake for fishing or swimming. Nice bike trails. We will have this on our list of places we would like to return to.

We booked through Reserve America not long before our arrival and felt lucky to get a site during the week, weekends were not available. The campground was easy to find, with good signs on roads in the area. Campground checking was straightforward and site easy to locate. All sites are back-in, with paved access and campsite parking areas. Electric hookups are at each site and are in great condition. Water service is from shared faucets between 4 adjoining campsites, so good to have an extension hose. No sewer connections. The dump station is on the way out of the park and can accommodate two trailers at a time. The daily rate of $48 for non-residents seems a bit pricy with no sewer, but apparently that is common for New England state parks. There is reasonable separation between sites, and in some cases there is vegetation screening, but more typically not.

We enjoyed biking on the bike path along the Cape Cod Canal, a great bike path with access from the campsite. Fishing in the canal was also popular. The beach park is separated from the campground, and had separate parking lot and facilities, but is very nearby. The restroom in the campground was clean and well maintained. The only complaint we had with the facilities is that the restroom is undersized for the size of the campsite, with 3 toilets and showers each, men’s and women’s, for a pretty large number of campsites

Standard side by side no privacy park. Full hook-ups. Nice staff. We had an electrical glitch that left us without power for one day then we plugged into adjacent site pedestal. We would stay again as it is pretty convenient for exploring SB. Don’t expect anything but hook-ups and you won’t be disappointed. The roadways were narrow and tight. We managed in a 30 foot trailer with TV but it was dicey. This park is right off the freeway so traffic noise is present. We did not use bathrooms or laundry.

December camping is iffy. Cold, but sunny. Hiking trails not overly crowded early in day, lots fill up in late morning. No shuttle in winter to trail heads. Condors, falcons and many moles and ground squirrels call this home. Bathrooms functional. Pay showers. Site reasonably level. Absolutely no AT&T or Verizon cell service whatsoever.
