We knew this camp ground had a loop with first come first serve, so we stopped by to check it out.The sites were small and close together. The first come first serve loop had only a few camp sites. Some of the sites back up to Hwy 93 which carries a lot of traffic during the day.

I was ready to leave when we pulled into the park. There were a lot of units end to end in a small space. I changed my opinion on our first day. John and Denise are the park hosts. They are the most engaging hosts I"ve encountered. They were great at solving problems when people were vying for the same space or people were not following the rules They were out in the park every day interacting with campers in the park. We met some great people because we were close to our neighbors. The place is first come first serve. It was full every night. . This park has a board that shows the check-out day for every space. If you want to be close to the ocean check the board to see which sites are on the water and which sites are leaving that day and go talk to that camper. If you wait for them to leave, someone else will have already asked for space. Show up early in the morning to ensure a space. The site was 10.00 a night with our senior pass. The best part was listening to the roar of the surf lull us to sleep. This is a special place.

You have to visit the Panther Junction Visitor Center to reserve one of the more remote sites. Some of the sites will accommodate an RV and some won't. We got lucky all of the other sites were reserved for the night but this one.The cost was 12.00 or 6.00 with Senior Park Pass. It's located 5 miles from the Panther Junction visitor center a short distance from Hwy 385. You have to take a dirt road for about a 1/4mile. The site is huge and would easily accommodate 4-5 RVs. There is no one else around for a couple of miles. The best part was the stars and the coyote serenading us. The Big Bend National Park does have an RV park in Rio Grande Village. There are hundreds of miles of trails for hiking. We will be back

We drove less than a mile off Hwy 60 on a well-maintained dirt road, We came to turn off to the left that had numerous spots to camp. There is a large pull-off directly across the road that will handle any size unit. I recommending camping back in from the road as the road creates a lot of dust. There is another spot about a mile further that will handle 3-4 large RVs. The town of Greer is about 3 miles. They have a couple of restaurants and a general store. There are three small lakes off to the left as you drive into Greer

We are not big RV park people. We like space between our neighbors and us. We stayed an extra night because the design of this park gave us space from your neighbors. There are a lot of Mesquite trees sprinkled throughout the park. The park was very quiet because it's home to a lot of oil workers that work in the surrounding area. The park is a couple of miles from town. The only sound I heard at night was coyotes in the distance. The laundry facilities are first class. The Wifi coverage is excellent. The speed drops at night when the oil workers are off work. There is a dog area and playground. the park roads and the pads are dirt.

They charge 60 a night and with no sewer. Many of the sites are really close together on the portion of the property that is closer to the lake. There is a slope to the park so many of the sites are not level. Most of the sites sit in an open area with no trees. Sam Owens state park or Island View trailer resort would be better options

It's a big area but not a lot of level spots. The entrance is between mile marker 174 and 174 on 95. You can hear the traffic from 95. When you head up the road towards the back of the property the road splits. The road that goes to the right has a wash crossing the road. I would have bottomed out if I took the right fork. The left fork goes up a hill there are only a couple flat spots on top of the hill. The only good thing; it's a couple of miles from the town of Lake Havasu. The BLM location North of Lake Havasu is much better

This campground has Hwy 16 at the front of the property and the railroad at the back of the property. This is a main truck route at night. There was a constant sound of trucks. At the back of the property just past the small lake is two sets of train tracks. We counted a train every half hour to 45 minutes going either west or east all night long The best part is the trains have to slow for a corner, so you get to hear the screech of steel against steel as they apply the brakes. If we had knew it was that bad before we paid, we would have kept driving.

There are about 10 different spots right along the road. The first couple of sites are shaded. There was constant vehicle traffic due to vehicles traveling back and forth from a zinc mine. Another reason for the traffic is the border patrol that uses that road to patrol an area north of the Mexican border..They start their shift at 5:00 am. Try sleeping when you're camped next to Harshaw road. There is constant traffic from the mining vehicles, border patrol, local ranchers, and the weekenders. I would recommend driving 10 miles to Sonita. There are numerous places off from Highway 83

This was a great place to spend the night. The crash of the waves lulled us to sleep. The beach was clean. We saw the local police drive by twice during our stay. There are a couple stores within walking distance. The best part of being here in the winter there were only two other campers on the beach. The sand is packed. We saw a large class cruise past us.
