This park was developed in the last three years. The sites are level and large. Many of the sites sit in the trees and provide a lot of sharde. You have great views of the surrounding area. The staff we encountered do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The cons . There are no shower facilties, there isn't sewer at the site. They do have a dump station on the way out. The biggest cons. The park sits nex to Hwy 5, We listened to trucks all night long using their compression braking system to slow as they went down the hill. There is a large gravel pit operation directly across the highway from the park. We tried to sit outside with our coffee in the morning to enjoy the view, but thevnoise from the gravel pit put an end to morning coffee. Once was enough for us espcially at 55.00 a night. It wasn't worth it.

There are three camprgrounds at this location. Wakara is up on the hill. It has tables with cabanas and no shade. These sites have power, water and sewer. Sand Pitch is the campground you enter when you come in the main entrance and turn left. Some of these sites have water and power others have no services. These sites are close together. Arapeen is the campground when you come in to the main entrance and turn right. Most of these sites have no services. There about 8 sites that are pull throughs that sit on the edge of the lake. We were in site 22 which is on the lake edge. We had a great view of the lake and the mountains. Many of these sites are shaded. You can rent paddle boards. There is a dump station at the entrance. Town is about 8 miles. I would not want to be here on the weekend as the golf course here and the lake draw a lot of weekend traffic

This is not an RV resort this isn't even a decent camp ground. This is an old poorly maintain park. Most of the people are seasonal or permanent residents. Their lawn mower and weed eater must be broken. There is a sign that says you need to boil you water. The place sits right next to the highway and the train tracks are right behind the park. The place is a dump. Check out the pictures. i would not stay here again.

Most of the sites are spaced well. All of the sites are paved and most were level. The bathrooms were clean and showers cost .50 for 5 minutes. The Siletz river runs next to the park. Some campers brought inner tubes so they could float the river behind the campgrounds. There are numerous forest roads to walk or bike. The best part is this park is first come first served. The park was only 60% full during the week. The access from Newport is faster and easier than coining in from Lincoln City. The only cons are dry camping only and no cell service!!

We were going to stay closer to the North Rim. The signs at the turn-off from Hwy 89A to Hwy 67 say that many roads are closed due to a fire last year. The ranger told us after we had set up that most of the roads off Hwy 67 are open. There were numerous spots along road 248 that were just far enough from the road. We saw one log truck using the road to haul out a load of logs. There is a little noise from Hwy 89A unless you drive back in. There is very little traffic on 89A after dark.

We were told there are only two state parks on Cascade Lake that were first come first served. There are other parks that are first come first serve they arep part of the forest services.Blue Heron had two sites nex to the road and the whole Van Wyck park was first come first serve. The park is grass most sites are not level. A bumper or 5th wheel can work if you drop the front to the ground and jack up the back. Sites 2, 3, and 1 D are the best for close to level. The marina is next to Van Wyck. A golf course and restaurant are next to the marina. You can rent paddle boards and kayaks from the camp host.Larry is the camp host. In the six days we were there we had a lot of conversations with Larry. He made our stay a special experience. He takes excellent care of the park and he makes sure that campers are quiet at night.

This was one of our favorite places so far this trip. Eight of the sites sit next to the river. The rest are shaded. Most sites have a reasonable distance between you and your neighbor. There is trail head acrosss the road from the campground going up to the base of the rockies. Bow Lake is a gorgeous lake to kayak on. It's about 6 miles from the campground. The views from camp were amazing, The property is well maintained. Lake Louise is about 30 minutes away. The cons. Because the campground is first come first serve and close to Lake Louise there is the nightly drive by of all the people thinking they are going to find a place at 5:00pm Show up early or you willl be one of those people doing a drive by. This campground is also an overflow park, At night all of those people doing the drive by are parked in the large parking lot. The views are great from the overflow area. There is no Verizon service. There is pit toliets, water, trash the dump station is at Waterfowl campground.

When you turn off Hwy 129 for the Cheoah Point State Park. About a mile after the turn off there is a marina on your left. There is a small paved road that goes off to the left next to the marina. Once you make the turn, there is a turn off to the right that takes you down a small dirt road to three spots. The porta john is located at the corner of the turn-off. The spot at the end of the road is large enough for 30 ft to turn around. This spot is on the water with an amazing view. There is a spot on the left and right that will accommodate a smaller RV. There are additionals sites further up the paved road that is for tents only as you park on the side of the road and walk down to the site that is on the water The road gets very little traffic. You will hear noise from Hwy 129

We are not big RV park people. We like space between our neighbors and us. We stayed an extra night because the design of this park gave us space from your neighbors. There are a lot of Mesquite trees sprinkled throughout the park. The park was very quiet because it's home to a lot of oil workers that work in the surrounding area. The park is a couple of miles from town. The only sound I heard at night was coyotes in the distance. The laundry facilities are first class. The Wifi coverage is excellent. The speed drops at night when the oil workers are off work. There is a dog area and playground. the park roads and the pads are dirt.

The Fairgrounds has four different areas A,B,C & D. We chose D because it was the farthest the county fair complex. There is a large level concrete slab and water and electricity. It's about 1/2 mile from 101. The spaces are side by side, but we were the only ones there, Our dogs had a huge fenced field to run in. There are two race tracks near the property. I wouldn't want to be there when they are racing. The location wasn't pretty but it was a great place for the night. There was some noise from 101 that tapered off after dark.
