We stayed here 1 night 4/20/2022, mid week. Campground is a large, flat sunny piece of land very close to I-65, but many, many pretty little hardwood trees have been planted on the property so in a few years it will have a totally different look. Sites are paved & easily accessed. Descriptions in previous reviews are accurate. Everything is clean & new. Our energetic pup definitely enjoyed the large dog park. If our grandchildren had been with us, we would not have been able to get them off of the awesome playground structure. I wanted to climb it myself! Yes we do recommend a stop at this pleasant & well built RV park. As stated previously, water pressure is incredibly high so be prepared!

We were sure happy to find this clean & spacious place just before dark on 4/11/2022. It was easy to check-in after hours via phone. This is just another large flat RV stop-over close to I-10, but many pretty little hardwood trees have been planted so it will have a different look in a few years. Because it is not really close to a town or any restaurants, it was easier to prepare dinner in our travel trailer, so plan accordingly if you don't want to drive off into the unknown. During the night, we heard industrial sounds nearby, but I-10 far enough away to not be a problem. Got a great night's sleep anyway! We will definitely stay here again while making the long tedious trek on I-10 across Texas & Louisiana.

This is one of the best "RV parks" we have ever stayed in. The best points: 1. Friendly helpful staff keeping everything immaculate. 2. Spectacular view (we paid extra to lock in a site with a premium view & it was worth it) 3. Well spaced sites. 4. Quiet fun little trail down the hillside with wildflowers & trees. 5. The cleanest, most thoughtfully designed restrooms/ showers ever. 6. Clean, efficient laundry room. 7. Conveniently located in scenic SW Colorado close to small towns & interesting parks, such as Mesa Verde NP & Canyon of the Ancients. We would most definitely stay here again & recommend it to anybody. Thank-you management for your attention to all those little details that made our stay so pleasant!

We stayed here for 2 nights while visiting Carlsbad Caverns NP in Sept 2022. While it is, of course, just a big gravel parking lot, the spaces are big, level, & amenities are all there as advertised. MUCH effort has been made by management to make this place pleasant in spite of its urban desert location. It is clean, well maintained, and more secure than most other RV parks. The gate locks at night & there are security cameras around so we felt relatively safe. Many of the sites have nice leafy shade trees, which is unusual for this area. The only thing that bothered me is that some residents do not clean up after their big dogs in the grassy dog parks, in spite of the campground providing bags. This must be so frustrating to management who tries so hard to provide a nice RV park. We found it to be quiet & peaceful, in spite of the location next to a very busy industrial highway.

We found this KOA to be clean, roomy, secure, and well maintained with a friendly staff. This is a great place to stop for one night while driving across big wide Texas or for several nights while visiting San Angelo. The jet noise above was no problem- the sound of freedom!! Be sure to take a late afternoon or early morning walk on the peaceful walking path next door provided by a local church. At dusk we saw deer quietly grazing in that area and this gave a peaceful vibe. The little cabins look brand new.

This RV campground is located in a very ugly industrial-looking part of town just off I-80 & very close to busy railroad tracks. But it really wasn’t noisy and we had a good night here! It’s just a big gravel & grass parking lot with everyone tightly lined up but not a bad place, as long as you know what to expect. The hostess was very friendly & helpful. They have built a little gift shop & small camp store, as well as a new laundry room & very clean rest rooms/ showers, they are trying to make it a nice place. There is a lovely grassy shady area outside the office where children played. It appears there are a lot of long-term campers here. Everything seemed fairly safe & clean.

When we first drove up I was a bit apprehensive as it is a dusty treeless property with a gravelly rutted road leading uphill to the campsites. Of all the places we visited this summer, this place was the most strict about masking & social distancing (probably a good point). HOWEVER- we quickly found out the staff behind the plexiglass is very friendly & efficient! I don’t know how we got so lucky but we were given the best RV site they have- on the northwest end with a totally unobstructed & breath-taking view of the Dunes! Truly amazing. I don’t think all the sites have such a view. And if you are so fortunate to be there on a clear night with a new moon- oh my THE STARS!!!!!! Unbelievable! The restrooms/ showers are clean & nice. You can buy breakfast down in the office/ store area but we enjoyed ice cream after a long day in the dunes & mountain hiking trails. The only reason this gets 4 stars instead of 5 is because the RV sites are extremely close together & you could hear and see everything going on at the other campsites. But the proximity to the Great Sand Dunes makes it worth any imperfection of this campground.

We wanted some place cheap and just off I-20. Well, we got it. We were able to get the 1 remaining site. Everyone is packed in so closely it looks like an RV storage lot. Our site did not have a picnic table, but there was no room for it anyway. Our sewer hose connected directly under the picnic table of neighbors behind us. The sewer hose of the neighbors on the other side was 3 feet from our door & you could smell a raw sewer smell. 90% of the units looked like long term residents, which is OK, but all their belongings piled up outside just looked shabby. The "campground" was full, but we saw almost NO people out, which was kinda creepy. The showers & "game room" were locked and their entry porch was covered with bird droppings. There is a nice large grassy area for dog walks but it is unfenced. Large active ant hills are scattered throughout so be careful. It is clear Round-up or a similar herbicide has been used abundantly. But we were out & on our way early the next morning.

We spent 2 nights here the first week of August, 2021. It was wonderful! And yes, YOU can do it too with some planning & preparation. The day before we pulled our camper down to the beach, we drove about 12 miles down the "beach road" in our truck (no camper) considering if we would be able to find firm flat sand between the hard-packed road and the very soft sand near the dunes. Stop by the visitors center & get information about tide times so you can judge how high the waves will come up on the beach. Be sure you bring everything you need as it is a long slow drive back to the city. BE PREPARED! If it's summer, you'll likely need your AC so be sure to have adequate generator fuel. And of course, bring plenty of water.
Having said all that, this was a beautiful & peaceful experience as we were blessed with clear skies and blue water. We also were fortunate that we saw no jellyfish or seafood in the water, but sometimes this is a problem. (Good idea to bring vinegar for a jellyfish sting.) If you enjoy star gazing, this is the place! As anticipated, you will be saddened by all the ocean debris (trash) washed up as well as fresh litter left behind by careless visitors, but bring some extra garbage bags, spend a little time filling them, and deposit in dumpsters as you exit the beach. It really doesn't take long to fill several bags. Don't leave any food outside at night as we saw two coyotes on the beach in the late afternoon. Watch for vehicles of day visitors driving up & down the beach road as most do not adhere to the speed limit (15 mph). Overall this was a wonderful experience (if you are prepared) and we look forward to coming again when the weather is a little cooler. We even got to see a Kemp's Ridley sea turtle hatchling release at dawn at the Visitors Center. An amazing once in a lifetime experience!

Plan to stay for more than one night as there is much to explore and do in the Colorado Springs area. We were here for 1 short night in September 2021 in a travel trailer. There are miles of nice hiking trails but dogs only allowed on a few (due to the abundance of wildlife). We enjoyed the dog trails just before sunset & very early the next morning. Campsites are nicely separated by trees & shrubs. Sites are level in spite of the whole park being located on the side of a mountain. We LOVED the “revile” bugle from Fort Carson! Restrooms were clean but we did not see the shower house. There is a nice gift shop and interesting signage on the well-maintained trails. Colorado Springs is such a wonderful destination- you should plan to stay several days.
