Arriving around forty minutes before closing, we have time to buy a few bottles of wine and with the owner's agreement, we can sit comfortably in the parking lot. At nightfall, the sky is completely starry, it's magnificent.

I’ll skip the reasons why we were looking for an overnight parking after sunset... Anyway, we found this location (thanks Campendium). It was very dark when we arrived, but we easily found a level spot. Quiet night, pretty landscapes at wake up. But nothing to do here, it’s just for an overnight.

Arriving on a Saturday afternoon on a free site, it's always risky to have no space to settle. But we are lucky or it is because it is the low season but we had no difficulty to find a spot. The place is definitely a favorite for us. We reconnect with the starry sky, the Milky Way only sees on TV screens when we live near a large center. If you like the sound of the waves, the blazing sun is the place for you!
The locals meet on the beach were all very friendly and happy to share the fishing stories as this is really a place to fish.
We were a little tight in reserve of water and it is with regret that we stayed only two nights.

Parking is still a parking lot, of course, it's noisy. But as it is very well located, it's worth it. From I-10, easy access.We were worried about availability as we arrived on a Friday, but there is enough space. We opened our retractable extensions with no problem. We feel safe, the police station is just across the street.

Beauty, calm, tranquility. Some picnic tables and fire rings. Large space, good for solar panels, good for throwing the ball to dogs (!), and some hiking trails. Not only would I come back, but I hope to come back!

The comments on the campsites closer to San Antonio did not suit us at all and although it was not noted yet, we decided to go here for a two night stay. What a good decision!
It's an excellent campsite, not very big 25 sites, but everything is there.

Some small nature trails including one that leads us near to the river.
A dog park on grass and firewood is provided at the common fireplace.
Note that the WiFi is excellent throughout the campground, when you are working on the road, it is a very important thing.
This is not a family campsite but for travelers like us this is the place.
San Antonio is at 35 minutes.
It is necessary to call in advance because a code is necessary to pass the gate.

From the north, we didn’t see the entry before tolls and we paid 22$. But we received a refund at the building administration when we explained that we would stay for the night.
Little trail are available and they are full of butterflies, really beautiful.
Arrive early in the afternoon because have many truckers in the parking at night.

The grounds are wide, several are provided with a location for a fire pit and gives access to an outdoor toilet. The view of the stretch of water is beautiful, visible from several camping sites.

The place is designed to accommodate people with reduced mobility.
Tree cover, however, is not favourable to solar energy.

South of the main entrance (Road 55) at 650 ft, you can buy firewood. No entry by Shady City road. No facility to dispose of waste.
