Confirmed by 4 users | Last reported on August 26, 2021Beautiful park filled with trees. I’m not sure how many spots there are, but i saw up to 15. It’s not great for solar, so if that’s important, make sure you’re topped off before you come or you should probably try to find another spot. That’s the reason we are only staying one night.
There’s also a huge infestation of mosquitos, so I’d recommend bringing some sort of repellent or protection.
When you arrive you’ll see a small booth that you’ll have to stop and fill out a little paper. There’s a couple spots that are only for tents, but there’s plenty of spots available for rvs. Any size rig should be fine, but there are some low hanging trees on the way up. So be careful. You’re allowed to stay 3 days but if you want to stay longer, you’ll have to get a permit.
There’s also what looks to be portapotties at each sight, a picnic table and a fire pit.

The grounds are wide, several are provided with a location for a fire pit and gives access to an outdoor toilet. The view of the stretch of water is beautiful, visible from several camping sites.
The place is designed to accommodate people with reduced mobility.
Tree cover, however, is not favourable to solar energy.
South of the main entrance (Road 55) at 650 ft, you can buy firewood. No entry by Shady City road. No facility to dispose of waste.

Easily accessed by RV via Route 55 then Tt1130 (back access is now blocked). Each campsite has fire pit and drop toilet and overlooks a pond surrounded by pine forest. Peaceful and relaxing. Wish we could have stayed longer.

we loved it there, our grandson said that was his favorite campground.we are going again this weekend. This is my favorite place to stay, so quiet and serene.

Disclosure, we stayed in a week day but heard it can get busy and noisy in the weekends.
There were 23 spots I believe in the park, most had privies, tables and fire pits.
Sites were a bit messy with trash. Aside from that they were nice spots. relatively large, but close together. When we stayed there was maybe 5 spots taken and some kids out on there bicycles.
Pond says no swimming but people were in it anyways.
No services at this campground so pack in what you need, and please pack out your trash, it’s sad to see how disrespectful people can be.
Very few bugs/mosquitos (august)
