We were heading home and stopped here for overnight. We camped back about 2 miles off Leppy road, off of a dirt gravel road in the Silver Island Mountains Backcountry Byway. We went clockwise in this area. We have camped in this area before, going counterclockwise, and wanted to try a new spot.

There are a few but not too many camping spots. We found one that is level and spacious for our 25 foot airstream. It can be very windy here. We got the whole place to ourselves and we had fun walking around m. We found some cool rocks in drainages and washes. Cell svc was great!

We stayed here for just 1 night on our way to MT. Accessed from Ebbs Canyon rd. 1/4 mile in (2nd spot) on the right. Large open area, easy to park our 25’ Airstream. Did need to go on some blocks to level out side to side. Ground is soft; pretty dry when we were there but could be very muddy & a problem if precipitation happens. Weeknight and no one is around so far. Can hear highway traffic noise, not super loud. Perfect for 1 nighter

We were here for only overnight on our way to Tucson. Because Love’s Travel Stop in Gila Bend was so crowded and strongly smelled of feedlot, we decided to go another 25 miles to here despite arriving after dark.

Took exit 140 for Freeman Rd off I-8 East. Turn right at end of exit, it dead ended to old 84. You can go either left or right on this road and pick a spot. We were concerned with drug smuggling route warning sign at the T, but felt better when we spotted a lot of other RVs in the area. We just pulled off by the side of 84 a little further down from the turn. It was too dark to explore better spot and we were pulling a 25’ trailer. It was quiet and safe. We would stay here again; we would try to arrive during daylight to check out the other spurs.

We arrived at 8 pm only to discover there are no overnight parking for cars or travel homes. We were told to park in the street, although posted signs said no. We ended up going to a Walmart 6 miles nearby

Love this area. We were there for only 3 nights but could certainly stay longer. We camped in Whitney Pocket. Our first time so we were not familiar with what kind of available camp site options. The one we were in had a port-a-potty in a large circular camping area, next to amazing rocks. There were stopping traffic from ATVs. There are 3 better spots just a little further down the road which would be our choices next time. No bathroom stopping traffic😊

Not many people were there RVing. The main traffic were just ATVs and sightseeing. Could be because the time of the year that we were there; still pretty cold at night in the 30s and mid 20s. 20 miles of rough road driving could be the deterrent. But it's a great place if you love rocks formations to climb about & explore.

Verizon Cell coverage is between 1bar/1x or 1bar LTE, unless you have a cell amplifier.

Easy getting in and out with a large parking lot. Short Walk to Arby’s and Wendy’s. Not many trucks nor motor home overnighting when we were there so easy for us. It’s free, convenient and we feel safe. Yay!

We spent one night in the RV parking lot of the casino on our way to Tucson. Only one other camping trailer there. Just pulled in; no need to ask someone. Easy to park and level ground. Quiet overnight even for a Friday night. Walked the dog around town in the morning, checking out the murals. Was able to use the casino restroom. We would stay here again

We just stayed overnight here on the way home to Livingston, MT. Beautiful spot with mountains view! It’s free & you can stay max 14 days! Hardly anyone here since it’s early April. Level sites make it real easy for us to park our RV trailer without unhooking still level. All was great; not noisy from highway. The wind was blowing quite a bit next morning and we couldn’t keep our furnace lit to get heat but since we are leaving anyway, it’s no big deal. To dump and get potable water, go to the Cenex/Rocky Mountain Supply gas station & store on north side of Dillon. Five dollar cost for dump unless you buy $10 or more gas. Super convenient. We would stay here again!

Easy access. Open space, level enough. Beautiful mountains views and sunsets. Neighbors around but plenty of space to pick to be further apart. We were here early Feb, parked near the back before the road climbs up, by a tree. We checked weather ahead and knew that we would have a day of super strong wind, 60 mph gusts, all day so decided to stay down low. Parked our airstream front heading into the wind. We stayed indoor all day that windy day to do household chores and planning for the next location.

Highly recommend taking the Auto Tour by the Visitor Center, across the road. We did this multiple times, in the mornings and late afternoons. Lots of birds to see - widgeons, coots, geese, sandhill cranes, egrets, flycatcher! Even a coyote. Do bring your binocular or scope. The Visitor Center was closed due to Covid, but it was a treat to hand out there some to watch the hummingbirds at the feeders there. They are super territorial and live to chase each other away from their feeder. We took hikes from our camp spot. Just walked out across the desert floor in any direction you want. Love that flexibility We’d definitely stay here again. Verizon 2 to 3 bars LTE that worked fine for us.
