Easy access off Interstate 8. Many places near and far to camp. Good cell service, close to Gila Bend for free dump station and water.

I did not venture to far down the road. Stayed the night on 2 occasions near the freeway. Enjoyed my short visits but would stay for extended time. Isolated area. 25 miles to Gila Bend and 35 to Casa Grande. Excellent cell service on T-Mobile.

We were here for only overnight on our way to Tucson. Because Love’s Travel Stop in Gila Bend was so crowded and strongly smelled of feedlot, we decided to go another 25 miles to here despite arriving after dark.
Took exit 140 for Freeman Rd off I-8 East. Turn right at end of exit, it dead ended to old 84. You can go either left or right on this road and pick a spot. We were concerned with drug smuggling route warning sign at the T, but felt better when we spotted a lot of other RVs in the area. We just pulled off by the side of 84 a little further down from the turn. It was too dark to explore better spot and we were pulling a 25’ trailer. It was quiet and safe. We would stay here again; we would try to arrive during daylight to check out the other spurs.

You can stay near the interstate or be more adventurous and drive further back . We took our 35ft 5th Wheel back to the entrance of the former Air Force bombing site about 1 1/4 miles back . Nobody else within sight . Loved it . Used Holts truck stop for laundry and fuel , water and dump . Good WiFi and the hiking was beautiful. Perfect for a long rest .
Would definitely recommend, enjoy 😉

This was easy and wonderful. I went right at the T then down a few hundred yards was a road that headed south. I took it for about 100 yards and found a pull around on the right side. That road is decent but my 26’ foot class A does not have good clearance so I’m glad I did not go further. There was a school bus down that road, so larger rigs can do that road. There are only a few spots in this area. 4-5 other rigs in the area. It’s pretty and quiet. The road noise from the Interstate dies down at night. I thought this was a great spot but could be more difficult for large rigs, especially motorhomes with a toad.

We stayed at one of the sites just after the turn off from the main dirt road. We were the only people in the area and the site was very clean. It was turning out to be a great stay until around midnight, a park ranger and an immigration officer stopped by to inform us that this was on a smuggling run, which we were aware of, but then they told us that there was also human trafficking going on in the area and they had just picked up a group a couple miles away. They said they couldn't tell us to leave but that it might be a good idea to do so. We figured that if it was drug running and illegal immigrants they would try to stay away from us but the human trafficking didn't sound good. We ended up leaving at that point

We stayed here 11/01/19 in a 26ft motorhome towing a 10ft trailer and had a great rest. The exit off I-8 leads right to the road you need to be on and it’s all paved. The road is old hwy 84 so is worn but better than washboard. You come to a T and turning right will get you to a lot of spots but we we went left and found a great site by a cell tower. We felt very safe despite the warning signs of drug trafficking. Peaceful, private and four bars of cellphone service, can’t beat it.

We arrived at noon on Monday. It was winter solstice and our very first time ever Boondocking on BLM. As mentioned, the roads were rough but not a problem as long as we went slow. We have a 37 foot toy trailer with a long bed 350 Ford. Really appreciated everyone’s guidance on this site. We stuck close to the road And had a wonderful time. The skies were amazing.

My first time BLM CAMPING 🏕. Great experience. I drove in ,not to far, grabbed a spot and relaxed. Road was OK. Just drove slow. The scenery was beautiful. I picked up a little bit of trash. Nothing to cry about. Just wanted to do my part. There was plenty of sites open. I'm not in a big Rig, but it is big Rig friendly. I found this place through Campendium. I had Verizon cell service better than anywhere else. Thank you Campendium.
