Pavement or grass, you can have your choice here. With an overnight and Lincoln museum in mind the pavement better suited us. The basics are well covered.

We enjoyed three nights here over the weekend. Sites are a bit close, but doable. Bathrooms were clean, host connective and knowledgeable about the area. Lots of little trips close by with excellent seafood abounding. An added bonus for us was the great bike trail just out of town, paved and easily accessible from the camping.
If you have a trailer of any size, watch the GPS in and out. A few tricky spots with the access roads.

We had a lovely two nights here. Without hookups, but who cares. Fun springs, no bugs to speak of, clean bath and showers. The only ding would be no quiet hours or more specifically generator hours in effect or easily found. So, with no plugins, some annoying noise. Not killer, reasonable, but still there.

Early April and they had just opened up. We were the only ones there. Nice everything, spot, outhouse, water untested, but doable. Lots of road for biking.

The class standard for Army Corp campgrounds, well designed, spacious, clean, and organized. Everything you’d expect from the Army and Engineers and an example of government socialism at its best. We had a large site (as were they all) with all the utilities, including septic, our first ever, and thank you for one less dump station in my life.

Close enough to Montgomery for needs and attraction. Rode the bikes a few miles into the country and felt safe and respected by motorists. Nice and efficient hosts also.

A little light on data coverage, but still able to watch Bridgerton, nightly. Sigh….

An overnight stop enhanced by the springs, this campground is ready for an infusion of funds and a redo. We had a “pull through” that was really a half circle of old asphalt that had no parking space other than the drive. Someone coming in behind us would have had to use the rain soaked grass. Not a positive scenario. On the other hand, the
utilities worked, the bh was not so bad, and there were only two other campers on a Sunday night. Build back better needed here.

This seems like a primarily fishing area, but there is a great beach, small playground, and well kept picnic areas. The campsite can be seen from each other, but are spaced nicely and well equivalent and maintained. Bathrooms are clean and the host very nice and easy to talk to.
If you’re a biker, the Natchez Trace is four miles away and the Tanglefoot Trail only a short distance. Shopping in both n/s directions, about a 25-30 minute drive.

Just here for an overnight but I wished we had more time. Clean and quiet. A hiking trail off the campground, and lots further around the park. Somewhere there’s campground internet, but we registered online, came in on a Sunday and didn’t have the password. Weak data is the only downgrade, at least for Verizon.

This campground is a cooperative agreement between the federal forest and state park and seems to be working well. It has well spaced and designed campsites with full hookups, including septic. A nice winding drive in. Plenty to see and do for a few days, although hiking from the campground would have been nice. Minimal cell Verizon cell coverage.

First time here, but a great find. Biking, lakeshore, close to town, nice sites, quiet, clean, and we had bug free weather with pleasant temps. Did I mention walking paths and artesian water? A bit short on sites with only seven RV, but sometimes that’s not all bad, except some are monthly stays. That makes the first come first serve a bit of a crapshoot.
Some might argue close to the highway, but quiet enough for us.
A short drive to Bayfield, the Apostles, and Big Top, a favorite of ours.
