We stopped one evening in the pull out and stayed the night. Good views of the lake but be ready for high winds. It’s not called Destruction Bay for nothing.

We just dumped here and am glad we came. It’s about 5 minutes from the main highway so not a bad side stop. There’s water for black clean out and also fresh water.

There are however no trash services but it’s free, so what do you expect?

You can’t beat free.

This is an awesome little rest area.

Here’s the run down:
Clean area
Free dump
Nice restrooms
Grassy dog walk area
Ample room for big rigs
Next to justice center (likely a police presence)
Nice park and trail area across the street
Close to gas station
Maned visitor information center
Good cell service

We will be stopping here in the future.

We were there in the middle of a week day to dump and we’re the only camper in the lot the whole time.

It’s a standard dump station and it’s free so it’s a win. On top of that you can fuel and get some goodies at the gas station and it’s a quality store.

There are a lot of negative reviews because of the tight spots and noise but wasn’t that expected when you saw it on the map? It’s right in town and about 1/4 mile from the interstate. This isn’t a place that you’re staying at because you’re looking for some outdoor experience when you open your door. It’s somewhere you stay when you need a jumping off point for Denver, Golden, or the mountains. And for that it’s perfect for that need. We went to a wedding in Golden and were able to Uber back to the campground very easily.

The WiFi is barely so-so (2mb download when I tested it and the park’s hotspot was literally at our site) but the staff were on point with a guide in and trash pickup in the morning. Check out is a bit early (11 am) but all in all it was what we expected and cheaper than a hotel.

Full hook ups with 20/30/50 amp service.

This is a nice campground with lake access. The sites are clean with good space between.
The campground is well off the beaten path and nice and quiet. Community water source and vaulted toilets.

Let’s talk about the price first because it’s the main con. I think the rate is advertised as $26/night. But after that you get an $8.75 transaction fee. Then when you get there you have to pay $9 per day for your vehicle unless you have a county parks pass. All in you’re well over $40/night for a little more than a BLM style campground.

They do have electricity at all sites so that’s a plus. Water can be found at two spigots seasonally. We’re here on Oct. 18 and the water is shut off. You can however get water at the free public dump station just down the way. There are also fire rings at all sites and vaulted toilets but they are a bit spread out. You can also find paid showers at the marina.

There is a good amount of road noise and the sites are pretty close but in a line and not a grid. So you have neighbors to your left and right but not all the way around.

Although the cost is steep lots of sites are right on the water and you do get that electricity. Plus you’re 15 minutes from Ft. Collins.

Being in Glacier and so near to town and the lake save this campground. It’s nicely wooded but spaces are small and on top of each other. Although there is a shower, it’s a far walk from some sites and there was nearly always a line and always no hot water (ice cold shower).

But it is an awesomely beautiful place.

This is a very nice place right in town. The campground is well kept and everything is very tidy. They have lawn crews around all day keeping the place spic and span.

They must also own a sign company because there are signs everywhere. Wanna know where the creek is? There are about 8 signs to show you. Wanna know how to get hack from the creek (a 20 yard distance)? There are 9 more signs. Also, should you cut through a site to get back? Nope, but there is a sign on every site to remind you. Coming into the place there are literally 9 signs within 10 yards of each other telling you not to park along the road. Signs, signs, everywhere are signs.

The campground has a lot of rules and they don’t have a problem enforcing them. There was even a 80 yr old man riding around on a golf cart yelling at people for going too fast or not stopping fully at a stop sign (he may or may not have worked there). But, this is all understandable in their effort to keep the place nice, which they are doing a good job at. They have a very nice place.

The only downfall is that the WiFi was unstable and very slow, you can’t have a campfire which maybe a restriction from the city.
