We got to the campground after dark and had a bit of troubling finding a suitable site in the dark. The campground was pretty full but many of the sites that were open had 2+ foot pine trees growing up through the picnic tables and pull ins. We stopped by the camp host site and the people camping there weren’t actually the hosts. They said they always saw random people camping at the host site so they did the same.

Lots of standing dead pine beetle kill as well as already fallen. If you bring a saw you can cut as much firewood as your heart desires from the downed trees.

The water hand pumps had no handles so there was no water. There were vaulted toilets and on site garbage. The closest services was the Albany Lodge which had a restaurant/bar and a super small store. I don’t think they had gas though. Otherwise you’ll have to drive an hour back to Laramie for any other needs.

As the other reviewer said, the place was rowdy. There was a multi site party crowd that raised a ruckus until about 2 a.m. when we heard another site literally yell at them to shut up. There were kids (10-12 yrs old) riding laps in the campground on atvs. The place seems to attract the UTVers and boaters. The whole area is surrounded by trails perfect for riding and the lake is pretty sizable.

The sites 54 and nearby have a trail down to the lake and room for swimming and fishing and are isolated from the other sites.

All in all, we’d probably go again but with a good understanding of what we were getting into.

Also, the whole area is riddled with dispersed sites so, free camping is readily available.

Being in Glacier and so near to town and the lake save this campground. It’s nicely wooded but spaces are small and on top of each other. Although there is a shower, it’s a far walk from some sites and there was nearly always a line and always no hot water (ice cold shower).

But it is an awesomely beautiful place.

This is a very nice place right in town. The campground is well kept and everything is very tidy. They have lawn crews around all day keeping the place spic and span.

They must also own a sign company because there are signs everywhere. Wanna know where the creek is? There are about 8 signs to show you. Wanna know how to get hack from the creek (a 20 yard distance)? There are 9 more signs. Also, should you cut through a site to get back? Nope, but there is a sign on every site to remind you. Coming into the place there are literally 9 signs within 10 yards of each other telling you not to park along the road. Signs, signs, everywhere are signs.

The campground has a lot of rules and they don’t have a problem enforcing them. There was even a 80 yr old man riding around on a golf cart yelling at people for going too fast or not stopping fully at a stop sign (he may or may not have worked there). But, this is all understandable in their effort to keep the place nice, which they are doing a good job at. They have a very nice place.

The only downfall is that the WiFi was unstable and very slow, you can’t have a campfire which maybe a restriction from the city.

There are a lot of negative reviews because of the tight spots and noise but wasn’t that expected when you saw it on the map? It’s right in town and about 1/4 mile from the interstate. This isn’t a place that you’re staying at because you’re looking for some outdoor experience when you open your door. It’s somewhere you stay when you need a jumping off point for Denver, Golden, or the mountains. And for that it’s perfect for that need. We went to a wedding in Golden and were able to Uber back to the campground very easily.

The WiFi is barely so-so (2mb download when I tested it and the park’s hotspot was literally at our site) but the staff were on point with a guide in and trash pickup in the morning. Check out is a bit early (11 am) but all in all it was what we expected and cheaper than a hotel.

Full hook ups with 20/30/50 amp service.
