Good place to stop for the night. Lot not very level but doable. We parked near the back right corner near the highway.
We ate there as well but was not the best experience we've had. Sorry to say.

Good one nite stay! Parked on North side of Casino in the "Employee/Overflow" on Finish Line Ave, parking across from the horse barns. The other Employee pkg was used for COVID testing... No need to call, just be polite and let security know that you are there. Had some traffic noise from E 5th Ave but not too bad. Not very level but you should find a spot. We parked near the near fence on left as you pull in.

A great place to stay when State Park is full and not have to pay all the crazy extra fees that they tag on.

I will say, the sites are pretty close but hey, we're hiking most of the time anyway so it's didn't matter to us!

Sites are all gravel. Not to level but doable with some extra blocking! Need at long water hose as it is at the front of the site, not the back where the electric and sewer are. Speaking of sewer, maybe extra 10' hose would be good for some of the sites... jus' sayin'!

All in all, a good "home base" to go and explore the State Park, which is just around the corner, with all it's trails and info centers!

Have a great time, we did!

What a pleasant surprise. This place is wonderful. We stayed a couple of days and loved it. Very peaceful. Only a couple other people in area. Lot's of options to park and enjoy your stay. We stayed in a 39' 5th wheel and had no issues finding a place to stay.
The county has done a great job in maintaining the beauty of the grounds. Plus the people do their part in keeping it clean as well.
If in the area, do yourself a favor and stay a nite or two. You'll love it. (We stayed during the week, I would imagine the weekend would get a bit busier)
Have fun and enjoy!

What a great place to stay for a bit. It is just North of Williams, which is a pretty neat little town, and about an hour away from the Grand Canyon South entrance, on highway 64. Follow GPS/Google Maps to get here.
There are plenty of places to park and not be crowded. The only issue is if it rains or snows, in our case, the ground gets pretty mushy and can be hard to navigate through. We waited an extra day for it to dry up a bit then left. Other than that, it was quiet and not to busy, just on the weekends. The road in is hard packed coming in as a trucking company uses it to haul dirt/rock out, couple times a day, after that, depending on size of rig/vehicle, get out and look it over.
Williams has quite a bit to offer, plenty of places to eat and buy goodies as well as Safeway grocery store.
We took the train ride to the Grand Canyon from here. Flagstaff is not far away, about 30 mins or so East, if you need a Walmart or any other box store to get items.

Stayed for about a week (weekly rate) and was great. They are adding some new sites on the North side of property with concrete pads and full hookups! Ours was still on the gravel site.

It is fairly quiet with some traffic noise but what d'ya expect being in town?!!

Holly in the office is very polite, friendly and helpful with tons of info about the area!

Hiking Trails near by.. Sutton Wilderness Trail Park.

Mountain Biking, Hiking, Boating, and Fishing at the nearby Lake Thunderbird.

Golf Course is near I-35 and Robinson St.

Plus many grocery stores, hardware stores very close by as well..

Propane can be purchased at "OLG" Propane on 12th Ave NE & Main St about 2 miles away.

And if need, the Hospital is just across the street!!

Come on in and stay awhile and enjoy this wonderful place and town!

What a fun place to stay! The sites are spaced apart nicely and well maintained. There is electric at most sites with water near the ends and there is a tent area with nothing. Also each site had large fire pits and picnic tables!! Large well maintained bathrooms are provided in the middle of each campground circle. They have recycling there and a large selection of books for you to use also! I told you this is a fun place.
All the staff was very helpful, and courteous! Nicole at the front gate was very professional as were the others we encountered throughout our stay!
The trails were fun to mountain bike ride on and hike! Just watch out on the weekends as there may be horses on the trail and leave their droppings behind "on" the trail. (Why do the owners not clean up after them, dog owners manage their pets!) We kayaked up and down the Schodack Creek, just watch out for the tide changes. It moves about 5' difference most days. It was fun. Lots of birds, turtles and some fish jumping!
We watched the boats, some barges, go up and down the Hudson River as well as people fishing along the banks.
Grocery store (Hannafords) is just SE of there about 8 miles or you can go to Albany (17 miles).
Laundry (Nine Juliet Laundromat) is in Castleton just N of there.. 3 miles .. very nice, clean and friendly owner!
Go have fun and enjoy yourself!.
(Oh, we were out-of-staters so we paid an extra fee but it was well worth it!)

Very Rustic family own/run place. From the time we arrived to when we left, the staff was GREAT! Very polite, courteous and helpful! Sites are a bit small for lg rigs but we managed. Roads are a bit tight to maneuver as well. Multiple sites for tents and smaller units. Many larger site are taken up by seasonal patrons. We are here in the off season and it was pretty quiet. Lots of room between sites. Very wooded in surroundings. They even have a few cabins if you want.
Very Family/Kid friendly campground. Playground, swimming pool, Bocce Ball, Horseshoes, Volleyball, Game room and Basketball court (in repairs). Many kids just road their bikes around the gravel/dirt roads. Small hiking trail if you want to go stretch your legs.
They have a laundry room with 3 washers and 4 dryers. Restrooms in a couple of locations on property. Nice store if you need anything. DVD's to use (no charge). Wood for the fire ring (aka: tire rim!)

What a wonderful place to stay for a few days and close to the Petrified Forest! Plus it is FREE!
It's not much but if you are Boondocking for a few days or just wanna stay overnight, this is a great place to stay! I'd say get there before 5pm-ish as it starts to fill up due to people leaving the park. There a few spots that have covered picnic tables and the rest are out in the open. It's a gravel/dirt base for the most part and leveling is pretty easy!
FYI, there are NO hookups of any kind here. So be prepared ahead of time. The associated campground across the street has "electric only" for $15, if you need it.
