A great location in a convenient spot just outside the entrance to Palo Duro SP. This c/g could be a gold mine as PD is Texas's most popular park for RVers. So, what do you get for $25: a grass site that may or may not be level, tight if they are crowded. But, don't worry as almost 1/3 to 1/2 the sites don't have working power. A few picnic tables, but badly in need of repair, no fire rings so no smoking campfires. I didn't look at showers or bathrooms, but suspect the same - uninterest on the part of the owner. 50 Am service gets you shrugged shoulders, "the last storm screwed it up!"

Inspite of this glowing review I'd stay here again because of the views and spacing between sites because of the poor maintenance. Oh yes, bring a dog (the bigger the better) and let it roam like the owner does with his mastif. They're good for the grass!

They run a "ZIP LINE" service from the otherside of the c/g and run steady traffic of trailers full of people in wagons behind jeeps. They have a cable ride across one of the canyon's valleys. There's some controversey there too.

Palo Duro State Park was full so we weren't able to get a spot.
We went to this place, it didn't look great at first. The front office was under construction, looks like it will be pretty nice once finished. I walked in and I wasn't sure if it was the office for the zip line or for the RV park, it turns out is all the same. I paid $58 for 2 nights.
The state park did not offer sewer hook ups, but this park did. And everybody in the state park says the phone signal is non existent (we confirmed that when we went down into the canyon, zero service), we had good service here.
I was surprised that there were less than 10 rigs in here, so our closest neighbor was 4 spots away, about 60 ft.
There are some junk cars on the front, that don't look great. But I got over it when I had a such a great Verizon signal that I was able to stream the world cup on my phone (Argentine fan here!!) The antenna also captured a few channels. And some good FM stations as well.
The park entrance is only 300 yards away, its a little cooler than inside the state park since we had a good breeze.
Both nights some deer came close by to eat.
Overall, very happy with this park.
The sites are not level, I had to install 3 leveling blocks on the passenger side (Lynx leveler blocks). But the hooks up worked well and had no other issues.

Like others, we had planned to camp in Palo Duro Canyon State Park. Spending an extra day in New Mexico nixed our plans however. Still needing a place to spend the night, and not wanting to depend upon Amarillo’s Wal-Mart, we found this site through Campendium, and do not regret it!

Yes, the place is under construction, and it really has no amenities to get anyone excited, but it is EXACTLY what we needed after a long day on the road. Without a lot of crowds (only two other campers), we were able to select any site, settle in, watch a couple movies and relax.

Contrary to other reviews, we had no cell service (T-Mobile and Sprint), but it was no problem. I didn’t use the shower (singular) after being told that once it got dark, there wasn’t much light. I think all of these little things, including the general look of the place, are being worked on now, and in a year or so it will be an excellent destination.

Stayed here 4/29/19 to 5/2/19. The front office was under construction when I got here, but the manager came out to greet me when I pulled in. My main objective while being here was just to see Palo Duro Canyon, and I needed cell service, so for that it was perfect. The canyon was just down the road. While it's close to the canyon, it is a bit of a drive to get anywhere else.

The park looked like it was in need of some repairs. Some of the water and sewer hookups were broken and there were a lot of broken picnic tables and things. But for my needs, and for the price, it was totally fine.

Site was not well maintained with a large whole in the front.

Close parking means you are right on top of your neighbors.

You are near the canyon and the zip line is fun so we didn’t hang out much at the campground.

State Park was full, so we stayed here. This place is about a quarter of a mile from the state park entrance. The previous reviews are correct, there are some pot holes on the drive, nothing too serious. We were in site #6 and it was pretty level, we only had to bring up one side of the trailer .25 of an inch. There are other pads farther away that didn't seem as level (this is stated on their website). We actually booked this for 2 nights and were able to extend to a 3rd night so we could get into the park an extra day, the owner was friendly and accommodated our request. Since this is on the rim of the canyon the wind is always blowing, in the evening that makes it very comfortable to sit outside and relax with a cocktail. The other great thing about staying here was 5 bars on AT&T, my wife was working in the mornings so being on line was a plus. Down in the canyon there is no service.

Campground is being remodeled. RV sites need some ground maintenance. Our site was not level and the sewer connection pvc pipe was broken. New mini cabins are being constructed so rv sites should be getting attention soon.
Nice view over the canyon with zip lines available. Good place for easy access to Palo Duro Canyon SP day access activities and the staff here were great.
Our Sprint service was data only (MIFI) and worked fine when using external antenna.

The management were very friendly and helpful. It is only 1/4 mile from entrance to Palo Duro State park. You must have a day pass or camping reservation for park entrance. The RV park has many potholes and lots of sandburrs in the grass. I picked many of them out of our long haired doxie’s fur. The picnic tables are barely usable and not every site has one. It does have a partial view of the canyon. The bathrooms were usable, the shower room was less than I was comfortable using. They do have 4 mini cabins that seem fairly new. Each one had a small porch, chairs, and a few had new grills. Did not get to see inside but they looked nice.

I don’t know how this place could have 4 stars. There are potholes everywhere, their cancellation policy is unreasonable, they are overpriced, there are no bathrooms, the spaces are close together, and the sewer connection had sewage spilled all around it and the electric connection. When we asked that it be cleaned up, we were told they would right away...but no one ever showed up. The place is run down. They also have a zip line business. I’d never consider using a zip line at a place so ill kept.

We stayed here on a very long road trip because we arrived a day early Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The state park was full but we had reservations the next day. It was fine for a quick overnight but it is not a destination. Stay at the state park if you can - the sites are very comfortable and lovely. But if you need a place in a pinch, it's an ok spot to pitch a tent for a night. Just watch for broken glass on the grounds. Clean-ish restrooms and okay showers.
