Very remote. Access is through a long, narrow, dirt road, but well worth the drive! This is what camping should be! It was silent at night other than the sounds of nature, but there was constant helicopter noise during the day. Maybe logging? I’ll overlook that, cuz everything else was so fantastic.

Nice quiet county campground along the river. Bathrooms are very clean. There are lukewarm showers that are $.25 a minute with a three minute minimum. There’s no dump station and there’s no electricity. Some sites have hook up water. There is a free 24/7 dump at the sanitation department in Hood River. The sites are a bit small but when we were there people were fairly spread out as it was not full.

This was a really good place to chill out while exploring the area. Many of the campgrounds in this area are on or near the Columbia river along which passes a busy highway and train weigh. Those campgrounds would be noisy. The price is good on this and if we came back this is where I would stay.

Fantastic campground. Spacious, clean, shaded sites with views of Saranac Lake on loop 5. Great playgrounds throughout the park. Small concession stand and camp store. Swimming and boating areas. The previous night, we stayed a little farther south on the lake at Watkins Glen State Park, and were not impressed. Sampson State Park wins hands down! Such a different atmosphere! We love it here!

Large sites, several of which are on the Greenbriar River. All sites have H20 and electricity, most sites not on the river also have sewer. There are two wifi hubs which support wifi calling and surfing, probably not Netflix. There is NO CELL SERVICE OF ANY KIND for miles and miles. The campground has recently added a nice bathhouse and playground. It is located directly behind the Train Depot, but the trains are tourist trains and only run occasionally DURING THE DAY. Beware, you are truly in there sticks at this campground, sizable stores and gas stations are 35 twisty miles away. PLAN before coming.

Not all sites have a view of the lake. Many are tucked behind rock formations, which is actually quite nice as it protects you from wind. While we were here in early May it was often very windy and quite chilly. The water, bathrooms and dump station are not turned on until May 1. The sites are spacious, the views are beautiful. Cell service is strong at full bars for Verizon, but it’s pretty darn slow. But it works for phone conversations, slow surfing, and with a signal booster even streaming. The $45 night is for an electric site and includes the nine dollar Park fee. As others have mentioned, the drive-in is over miles of a very bumpy, unmarked, single lane road. Donkeys rule the road. Be sure to bring carrots.

Nice family run campground on a beautiful river.
The owners are super friendly and accommodating. Nice camp store. Bathrooms are clean and modern. RV sites have all utilities including TV (but who would want it in this beautiful area!). The sites are small and the campground is nestled between a road and a moderately busy train track. We were aware of these during the day, but it was quiet at night. There is lots to do here! The offer Corn Hole, volleyball, basketball courts, a great playground, and then there are all the river activities! There is no dump station but most RV sites have sewer. We prefer campgrounds with larger sites, but other than that, this is a wonderful little gem. Office hours are 9:30 to 5, and the campground fills up. Be sure to call for reservations during the day!

We love this campground. The water in Lake Harris is warmer than other local lakes so it's fun for kids. There is Beach accessible from most sites. The sunrises and sunsets visible from many sites are amazing. Bathrooms are very clean. There are some smaller sites on the point and a few that may be difficult for big rigs, also mostly on the point so plan carefully.
