Visited the Little River Dispersed Camping Area on Forest Road 17 in the Monongahela National Forest. Campsites offer free camping up to 14 days along the Little River in Pocahontas County. Hiking trails, trout fishing, and stunning natural beauty make this a worthy primitive camping location. There are no toilets or trash receptacles. Be sure to pack out all trash. Narrow forest roads may challenge large RV. There is no AT&T or Verizon cellular service in this area.

Very remote. Access is through a long, narrow, dirt road, but well worth the drive! This is what camping should be! It was silent at night other than the sounds of nature, but there was constant helicopter noise during the day. Maybe logging? I’ll overlook that, cuz everything else was so fantastic.

We would stay here again. There is absolutely no service for any carriers, so be prepared to unplug. There were about 16 total spots in the area, we kinda figured about half can be used for trailers. The road going in wasn’t too bad, but there are a few tight turns onto 1 lane bridges, so be aware of those. On the weekend there were plenty of people that were in there with us and the week days, I think we saw one other camper. The spots are pretty decently spaced out from each other and the spot we were in, we had plenty of privacy. There is also 5 more spots that we saw off a side shoot. The side road was between camp spots 6 and 7. It’s a small loop and would be great for a few trailers.
Overall beautiful spot.
