This campground is in a field that was likely clear cut as there are trees around the perimeter and newly planted trees at some sites. Nice new bathouse with big stalls. Solid wifi - it worked perfectly the first three weeks we were here then some connection challenges the final week, not sure why. No cell signal issues on ATT or Verizon. The owner and Angela at the office are very friendly and helpful. There is no office at the campground.
NOTE: Google maps will not take you to the right entrance. Enter off of US 70 West bound at Pine street

Lake views are fantastic. This is a very nice campground with relatively new amenities - pool, bathrooms, sites. The pool opened April 29, and no it's not heated, but it's nice for some short laps or to cool off. We also enjoy swimming in the lakes off the rocky area by the picnic tables. Wifi is strong enough for non-video work activities and we were able to download some shows as well. We love the location on the lake, proximity to downtown, restaurants and nature (greenway trail, Long Hunter State park, kayaking). This is the second time we've stayed here, first time was under the Safe Harbor name and prior ownership.

Stayed here for proximity to Rainbow Springs State Park and Crystal River. It's off a main road, but still relatively quiet. Nice grassy areas between sites with mature trees, some sites are shaded at least part of the day. Friendly neighbors, lots of snowbirds. Nice pool and bathouses. Wifi worked well for general email, etc. Cell signal was strong enough to use our Verizon hotspot for video calls. Nice library in Crystal River for working on a rainy day

Right on the water or across the street in the quiet woods, you can't go wrong. It's worth the extra money to stay right on the water or marina. Beautiful new pool and clubhouse - amazing sunsets from the deck, comfortable seating inside and on the deck, tv, puzzles, even a treadmill and stationary bike. Wifi that works!! Good cell signals too. 10min to town which has lots of food options and some shopping. 10min south to the beach or 30min around to the state park on the peninsula.

Great location for access to the park
The sites are close together without much privacy between them. Some sites are very muddy and not usable, so call ahead to ask which sites are flooded or muddy. Some sites are on the water and a few on the west end are more wooded.
Bathrooms were good and shower rooms were nothing to complain about. If your site is near the bathrooms, you will hear the high powered xcel hand dryers which are louder than the Lake Superior Waves crashing
Camp hosts seemed very nice and hosted coffee a few mornings we were there.
Verizon wifi worked sporadically at the campsite
ATT cell worked well most of the time at the campsite

On the west end of Ashland in a wooded park, though the camp sites are just on the ends of the woods in a grassy area. There were about 10 sites in all. Our site had 50/30/20amp and a water hook up. The dump station is at the other city RV park Kreher a few minutes drive away. Bathrooms were new and really good. Great wooded area for short hikes and there is a bike path that runs into town or down to the Lake Super beachfront. Free Artesian Water wells at Maslowski beach, which is off the bike/walking trail in the park. 30min from Bayfield/Apostle Islands, 30min from Mellen/Copper Falls State Park, 10min from Northern Great Lakes Visitor Center, 10min from downtown Ashland.

really nice water front spots and water views from other sites as well; great wooded tent sites at either end of the park
Sites are pretty close together without much privacy
A few sites looked pretty muddy, so it would be good to call ahead to check
Bathrooms are really well maintained and clean
Noise from the road is pretty limited
Good Verizon & ATT signal; Sprint was ok, but calls had static

Great location for access to the town, Sugarloaf Mountain, Presque Isle and the beach
Very easy to bike around and connect to bike paths
Campsites are close together without much privacy - some are wooded and some are more open or have just a few trees.
Sites #2 & 3 have a weird dip in them and seemed like they would be hard for a trailer or RV to use
Bathrooms were not cleaned well at all. They are older, which is fine, but they were not cleaned well and the shower was pretty gross.
Verizon mifi worked well
ATT cell was fine
Sprint cell was just ok

I'm from the western suburbs, so it was great to be able to stay in a nice public campground close to family and friends. Only downside is there are no showers, which is tough in a small rig with no sewer hook ups available on the sites. Lovely grounds and nice hiking trails.

Several loops of trailer/tent camping. I believe they all have power and there is potable water and dump station. The loop we stayed in had great tall pine trees and was a short walk down a wooded path to the river. There is also a park and boat launch nearby. Good bathroom, showers were ok enough.
