It turned out to be just fine and was pretty quiet though within 10 minutes of downtown. There’s a beach and a place to buy wood and ice on site. We didn’t go to the beach bc the point was to be in Lake Superior but it was nice to be on site. The beach we liked, McCartys cove was only ten minutes away. The staff was really nice and recommended an excellent restaurant. The best part is the paved bike path nearby and how close it was to beaches. We had a great time and saved money.
Nice but older city c/g. About a dozen sites have crumbly asphalt pads. Rest of sites are on grass/dirt. Heavily wooded so grass is sparse where it is needed. There is good privacy between sites with the dump station at the exit.
The city garage is behind the c/g (fenced) contributing to the noise during the day. North of the c/g a short mile is an iron ore processing plant that receives trainloads of ore daily from the mines south of town. Trainloads of gondolas are unloaded into huge piles then conveyor transfers the ore into ships at the dock.
The noise is not excessive, but could be annoying if you are easily disturbed.

This is a nice city campground on the outskirts of Marquette. It's a great location to explore the area from. Roads into the campground are paved. Sites can be paved, grassy or dirt...it just depends upon where you are. The hook ups are not laid out conveniently on some sites, so bring plenty of hose, sewer pipe and electric cords. Campground has WiFi, but is difficult to pick up in some parts of the campground. Verizon 4G coverage was strong and awesome. 6 OTA TV channels can be picked up. Major stations were NBC and FOX. Some road noise can be heard, but nothing really disturbing. If we were in the area, we would definitely stay here again.

We loved Marquette and this is a decent place to stay within biking distance of downtown. We had to move sites as they were full enough to not be able to accommodate us for two nights but that was fine. We ended up over by the playground which was fun for the kids. We also played/swam at the beach which was great!

Drive by review here, but the place seemed pretty nice. I only stopped in to use their fresh water to fill my tanks as the campground was full for the weekend. They allow non-guest campers to fill and dump for free, which was a nice surprise.

Great location for access to the town, Sugarloaf Mountain, Presque Isle and the beach
Very easy to bike around and connect to bike paths
Campsites are close together without much privacy - some are wooded and some are more open or have just a few trees.
Sites #2 & 3 have a weird dip in them and seemed like they would be hard for a trailer or RV to use
Bathrooms were not cleaned well at all. They are older, which is fine, but they were not cleaned well and the shower was pretty gross.
Verizon mifi worked well
ATT cell was fine
Sprint cell was just ok

We highly recommend this park! Our site is beautiful and has wonderful canopies! We love the beach access and the fact that the sites have a fire pit and a table.
The FREE wifi works awesome as well for those that are like us and work remotely.

We had issues trying to figure out where our site was and from which direction our pull-thru site was front to back. The numbers for the sites are on the "back" of the electrical and the front side of your site is painted on the asphalt! A beautiful campground. Nice shower house, wasn't so clean though as it had rained and it was muddy. From the East Google will take you for a scenic tour of the old downtown area which is really tight quarters for larger rigs. Once you get here big rigs will fit in fine.
AT&T full 4G LTE bars, no WeBoost needed.

We’re full time and every so often you need some extra time in a place to get stuff done. This park is close to everything. Walmart and Super one food store are near each other. Marquette meats is next to Super one. The downtown area is very nice with lots of beautiful historic buildings and plenty of restaurant choices. We had a FHU back in paved site. Plenty of shade. Note the water spigots are on one post between two sites. We had to use two hoses to reach. Verizon works well. Their internet is better than most campgrounds. We couldn’t pick up TV channels over the air and our dish could only find 1 satellite so it was worthless. There is a beach/swimming area with a lifeguard. We didn’t use the restroom/showers. There was a picnic table and fire ring. They have a dump station. It was very quiet. No laundry room but “loads of fun” laundry was close by and it was very nice but a bit pricey. We toured Presque Isle Park/peninsula and climbed to the top of Sugarloaf Mt. we took the “easy” trail. I would call it moderate vs easy. Glad we didn’t choose the “difficult” trail. If you’re a member both the Marquette Elks. Lodge and the American Legion were very friendly.
