This is a nice spot, a little bumpy coming in but stick with it and it's worth it. We parked along the river bank and it was a great view! Some boats and trains but nothing that bothered us.

This was the only campsite I could find anywhere near here, and we were not disappointed!

Great stay at Onegum. We arrived on a Wednesday afternoon and the campground has been very quiet and well maintained. Some sites back up right to the lake, which look nice (ours does not). We stayed at site #9 and it was very spacious, we easily pulled in our 33ft trailer.

For being next to the highway this spot was amazingly peaceful. We were so glad we stopped and stayed. The only annoying part was the campground is off the westbound rest area, so you can only access it from going west, and if coming east have to go past and turn around at the next exit.
Some of the sites were right up to the gorge, and had phenomenal views. We stayed at an internal site and still enjoyed the views and fall colors.

This was such a great spot, just a couple of minutes walk to the beach, where you could walk forever in either direction. We full time, and this has been one of our favorite spots yet!

We had the unfortunate event of our sewer backing up from the ground since there was something broken in the plumbing. But they loved us to another site promptly and even gave us the night for free.
There is no charge to use the laundry on site, but beware the dryers do not work well and took over 3 hours to get our clothes dry.

The 6 mile dirt road in took us over a half hour to drive, which was no fun. Once we got there, many of the sites looked like a transient encampment with hundreds of cardboard boxes stacked and makeshift tents. We did not feel comfortable staying, so drove back out and up the road to Riley, which was a great stay at Chickahominy
